Myriad Heavens: Rise of the Rune God

Chapter 173: Chapter 173: NEW UNDERGROUND FACILITY

NEW UNDERGROUND FACILITY - DAY 18

Orion descended from the gravity chamber to what should have been his familiar underground laboratory and discovered that Rene had been busy during his three days of intensive cultivation—the entire facility had been expanded and transformed into something that looked like it belonged in science fiction rather than beneath a residential mansion.

”What did you do?” he asked with awe evident despite his enhanced composure, staring at corridors that extended far beyond where they should, at facilities that gleamed with advanced technology, at spaces that seemed impossibly large to fit under his property.

”I excavated,” Rene said with satisfaction in her synthesized voice, ”extending the underground complex tens of thousands of meters in all directions using Mark IV replicators that I designed and manufactured during your cultivation sessions—the excavated material wasn’t wasted, I used it as feedstock to manufacture all the new facilities you’re seeing.”

MARK IV REPLICATORS

Rows of new manufacturing units lined one massive chamber, each one noticeably more advanced than the Mark IIIs.

”Mark IV improvements,” Rene explained, highlighting the specifications, ”thirty percent faster production, forty percent better energy efficiency, can manufacture larger components in single pieces, improved material quality across all categories—I’ve produced five hundred Mark IV units and they’re operating continuously to maintain and expand the facility.”

NEW GRAVITY CHAMBER

The training facility was enormous—where the original chamber had been 20x20x10 meters, the new chamber extended for tens of thousands of meters in all directions, creating a space large enough that Orion could move at hypersonic speeds without immediately hitting walls.

”Maximum gravity capability increased from 100G to 10,000G,” Rene continued, ”and the walls are reinforced with exotic-energy-enhanced materials that could withstand nuclear weapons without scratching—you can train at full power without risk of damaging the structure.”

PERSONAL ANTIMATTER REACTOR

A dedicated power generation facility hummed with contained energy, small-scale version of the space-based factory.

”Produces ten kilograms antimatter daily,” Rene said, ”providing unlimited power for facility operations, spacecraft charging, and energy-intensive experiments—you’re completely energy-independent now.”

FTL-CAPABLE SPACECRAFT

A hangar contained sleek vessels that made the Mercury-class ships look primitive.

”Personal FTL ships,” Rene explained, ”using prototype warp drive technology I developed from Tier 2 knowledge base—capable of faster-than-light travel for interstellar missions when you’re ready to expand beyond the solar system.”

ADVANCED LABORATORIES

Multiple specialized research facilities filled entire sections:

Exotic energy research lab

Genetic engineering facility

Materials science workshop

Weapons development range

Consciousness studies chamber

Dimensional physics laboratory

”Everything you might need for advanced research and development,” Rene said, ”equipped with tools and equipment that don’t exist anywhere else on Earth—this facility rivals anything governments possess and exceeds most of it.”

Orion walked through the transformed complex feeling genuine appreciation for Rene’s initiative and capability. ”You built all this in three days?” he asked with impressed wonder.

”Five hundred Mark IV replicators working continuously can accomplish extraordinary things,” Rene confirmed, ”and I’m operating at perhaps three percent capacity with the God’s Core quantum computer, so designing and coordinating construction was straightforward—I wanted you to have facilities worthy of your advancing capabilities.”

”Thank you,” Orion said sincerely, ”this is perfect—exactly what I need for the next phase of training and research.”

ADVANCED COMBAT TRAINING - DAYS 18-20

With the new massive gravity chamber available, Orion began training that actually challenged his enhanced capabilities rather than being simple exercises.

3,000G MOVEMENT TRAINING

The crushing gravity made even his enhanced body strain, but active energy enhancement let him move freely, and he practiced combat techniques under conditions that would pulverize normal matter.

DEVASTATING TECHNIQUE DEVELOPMENT

He experimented with attacks that released power beyond nuclear weapons:

Meteor Strike: Telekinetically accelerating massive weights to hypersonic speeds, impacts delivering megaton-scale destruction

Elemental Fusion: Combining multiple elements in synchronized attacks—fire and lightning creating plasma explosions, ice and earth creating continent-spanning earthquakes

Energy Cascade: Releasing stored power from all 361 acupoints simultaneously in directed beam, cutting force sufficient to slice mountains

WEAPON TRAINING

Rene manufactured a three-meter sword from exotic-energy-enhanced materials, perfectly balanced despite its size, and Orion practiced with the weapon because it represented the most generic and versatile combat tool—effective at any range from touching distance to hundreds of meters when thrown or enhanced with energy.

The sword techniques he developed integrated his various capabilities:

Speed strikes at Mach 64 creating sonic boom cutting force Energy-enhanced blades extending cutting edge to kilometers Elemental infusions creating fire swords, ice blades, lightning edges Telekinetic control allowing the sword to fight independently

CONCEPTUAL BREAKTHROUGH - DAY 20

During training session at 5,000G while fighting holographic opponents and manipulating elements simultaneously, something clicked in Orion’s consciousness—an epiphany that transcended mere technique and touched something fundamental about how reality worked.

He’d been manipulating fire through scientific understanding—controlling molecular motion, managing oxidation reactions, directing heat and light—but suddenly he perceived fire not as a collection of physical processes but as a concept, an idea that existed independent of mechanism.

FIRE CONCEPT MANIPULATION

Instead of consciously controlling every aspect of combustion, he could simply will the concept of fire into existence, and reality would manifest it according to his intent with power that was thousands of times stronger than ordinary elemental manipulation.

The difference was mystical rather than scientific—he wasn’t following physics anymore, he was imposing his will on reality itself, and the universe responded by creating fire that burned hotter and brighter and more destructively than anything physical chemistry could produce.

He tested the concept manipulation and created flames that reached temperatures exceeding stellar cores, fire that burned without consuming oxygen because it wasn’t actually combustion anymore but rather the idea of fire given physical form through spiritual power.

”This isn’t scientific,” he said with wonder, watching conceptual fire dance in his palm without burning him because his will defined it as harmless to himself, ”this is... mystical, spiritual, something beyond physics that operates on different principles entirely.”

Over the following hours he discovered he could master concepts through intense focus and epiphany:

WATER CONCEPT: Water that flowed against gravity, that existed as liquid at any temperature, that could drown through spiritual suffocation rather than physical drowning

NATURE CONCEPT: Plants that grew instantly, animals that manifested from will, ecosystems that formed in seconds

GRAVITY CONCEPT: This came easily because he’d been experiencing graviton manipulation constantly in the chamber, and he could now create gravity wells or anti-gravity fields through pure conceptual control without needing graviton generators

EARTH CONCEPT: Stone that was harder than diamond, soil that was fertile beyond natural possibility, tectonic forces that could reshape continents

Five concepts mastered in a single day of intensive training and experimentation, and Orion realized this was likely related to his cultivation advancement—his spiritual power had grown so strong through Celestial Mind Visualization that he could now impose his will on reality itself in ways that transcended normal cause-and-effect.

”Concepts can be integrated into techniques,” he discovered, testing combinations:

Conceptual Meteor Strike: Telekinesis enhanced with gravity concept, making projectiles thousands of times heavier mid-flight

Conceptual Elemental Fusion: Fire concept and Lightning concept combining into plasma that existed at impossible destructiveness and temperatures

Conceptual Sword Strike: Weapon imbued with earth concept becoming infinitely sharp and unbreakable

The power scaling was extraordinary—attacks that had been devastating before became apocalyptic with conceptual enhancement, and Orion began developing a library of techniques that integrated concepts:

Attack Techniques:

Stellar Flame: Fire concept at maximum intensity

Absolute Zero: Water/ice concept removing all thermal energy

Gravity Crush: Gravity concept creating localized black-hole-level compression

Earth Sundering: Earth concept splitting ground across kilometers

Nature’s Wrath: Nature concept manifesting entire ecosystems to attack

Movement Techniques:

Gravity Step: Using gravity concept for instant acceleration

Conceptual Flight: Multiple concepts combined for hypersonic aerial combat

Spatial Stride: Gravity concept warping space for faster-than-light-seeming movement

Defensive Techniques:

Elemental Barrier: All five concepts woven into impenetrable shield

Gravity Shell: Gravity concept deflecting incoming attacks

Nature’s Regeneration: Nature concept healing injuries instantly

By the end of Day 20, Orion had developed combat capability that was genuinely terrifying—he could devastate regions with single attacks, move at speeds that seemed like teleportation, defend against essentially any conventional weapon, and all of it was enhanced through conceptual manipulation that made him more like a force of nature than a human fighter.

”First Gene Lock completion will make me planetary-level,” he said to Rene, reviewing his capabilities, ”and I’m already approaching that threshold with seven rings—four more rings and I’ll genuinely be able to affect Earth-scale systems, and the concepts I’ve mastered will scale with my power.”

”You’re becoming something extraordinary,” Rene observed, ”and I recommend you spend time with family before advancing further—your mother and sister deserve to see you’re still the person they love despite the power you’re accumulating.”

FAMILY TIME - DAYS 21-22

Orion took the advice and spent two full days with Cassia and Nyla, deliberately avoiding cultivation and training to simply exist as family rather than as superhuman cultivator.

They went to dinner at a nice restaurant where Orion had to consciously moderate his strength to avoid crushing silverware and move at normal human speeds to avoid startling other diners.

They watched movies in the virtual world where Nyla insisted on picking terrible action films that made Orion laugh at physics violations that were trivial compared to what he could actually do.
