Myriad Heavens: Rise of the Rune God

Chapter 185: Chapter 185: The Seed of the Sun

IMPERIAL SHIPYARD ”SOL-PRIME” – BRIDGE OF THE AEGIS OF SOL

The holographic image of Commander Nyctor flickered and died. The silence on the bridge felt physical, like the localized gravity plating had spiked.

General Kael and General Vorn stood rigid in their heavy conceptual mechs. The red and blue glow of their inscribed runes cast long, jagged shadows across the deck. They had overseen Earth’s unification. They had watched mountains move and planets bloom. But the words Star Level had chilled them to the marrow.

”Five of them,” Vorn said, his voice modulated and flat. ”Entities that don’t just manipulate principles. They dictate the Laws that govern reality. Majesty, they could theoretically collapse a star if given the tactical space.”

Orion didn’t turn. He stared at the tactical projection of the Oort Cloud, where the wounded Nycton vessel looked like a speck of dust against the Aegis’s three-kilometer hull.

”It’s not just the five,” Orion said. His voice was calm. Terrifyingly so. ”It’s the civilization behind them. A Peak Type III society has had millions of years to refine horizontal development. They have sensors we can’t mask, alloys we haven’t modeled, and a tactical archive spanning galactic arms. We are one year old. We’re a toddler holding an antimatter cannon.”

He finally turned. The gold ley-lines of his Genesis suit pulsed in a slow, rhythmic cadence. ”Generals, the Nyctons believe we are their gods. Let them believe it. Treat them with imperial hospitality, but lock them out of our core networks. Take their ship to the Martian dry-docks. I want every bolt, every line of code, every scrap of Star-Level theory they possess extracted and fed to Rene. If we’re to survive the Kreth’mar, we steal ten thousand years of progress in three days.”

”By your command, Emperor,” Kael and Vorn answered in unison. They blurred out of the bridge, boots ringing like war drums against the deck plating.

LUNAR DARK SIDE – BASTION OF SILENCE

One hour later, Orion stood on the airless surface of the Moon.

The far side was no longer dark. Massive industrial complexes, illuminated by the cold blue glow of fusion arrays, dotted the craters. Above him, Earth hung like a sapphire-and-emerald marble. A world he had sworn to shield.

He stripped the Genesis suit.

It was a conceptual amplifier, not a shield. Against the energy he was about to draw, the nanite matrix would vaporize in milliseconds. He would rely on will alone. Nothing else could hold his physical form together.

”Cannon alignment complete,” Rene’s voice projected directly into his auditory nerve.

The Particle Exotic-Conceptual Ray Cannon was a marvel of vertical engineering. Ten million Dyson collectors focused their intake into a primary transmission ring orbiting the Sun’s equator. From there, the raw stellar output was funneled through a superconducting waveguide to the Lunar surface, where it entered a three-stage conversion chamber. First, a stellar-to-exotic energy matrix stripped the photons of their physical constraints. Second, a conceptual resonance imprinter overlaid the exotic particles with fundamental universal frequencies. Third, a graviton-acceleration lens compressed the stream into a coherent beam of conceptual plasma, three miles in diameter. The acceleration lens also let them beam exceed the speed of light, so that the beam wont take 8 min 20 seconds to travel to the moon, instead the beam would reach him almost instantly.

”Firing sequence initiated,” Rene reported. ”Capacitors charged. Conceptual matrix stabilized. Graviton lens locked. Discharge in three... two... one.”

Orion sat in the center of the obsidian platform. Crossed his legs. Closed his eyes.

The sky tore open and the solar system was lit.

DAY 1 – THE CRUCIBLE & CONSOLIDATION

BOOOOOM.

The beam didn’t hit like light. It hit like a collapsing star.

In the first microsecond, his entire nervous system was vaporized. Pain was irrelevant. Pain required biology. He was operating on raw spiritual architecture now. The Genesis suit lay in a molten puddle at the platform’s edge. His body should have been erased. But his will held. Every cell, every fractured meridian, every acupoint was bound together by sheer spiritual force and willpower.

Consolidation at 85%.

The Dyson energy flooded his meridians, hammering the remaining twenty percent into place. It was like forging a blade by dropping a mountain onto the anvil. Blood crystallized into liquid light. Spiritual pressure built until his chest felt like it would crack.

90%, 96%, 98%, 99%.

Then, at 100%.

The First Gene Lock’s golden ring around his heart flared, then dissolved into his bloodstream. Consolidation complete. But this was only the threshold.

Now came the delicate part.

He withdrew his consciousness into his spiritual sea. Before him floated the blueprint of the Second Gene Lock: a construct of starlight, waiting for its anchor. He began to spin his conceptual energy upward, past his heart, past his spine, toward his brain. This was the most dangerous step in cultivation. Linking conceptual energy directly to neural tissue required microscopic precision. A single misaligned nerve would boil his mind. Literally becoming brain dead.

He breathed in the void. Pushed the energy thread by thread.

One. Two. Three.

This took a whole day, no mistake could be made

A single conceptual ring halo formed around his spiritual brain. It was fragile. Trembling. But as soon as it locked into place, golden filaments laced into his cortex, his pineal gland, his spiritual core. The link stabilized.

His brain ignited.

EARTH – IMPERIAL PALACE OBSERVATION DECK

Cassia stood motionless at the observation window, her knuckles white as she gripped the railing. Above her, the Moon burned with an impossible golden radiance, a second sun hanging in the night sky. Nyla stood beside her, tears streaming silently down her face, her hand pressed against the glass as if she could reach him through the three hundred thousand kilometers of empty space.

”He’s been under that beam for eighteen hours,” Nyla whispered, her voice cracking. ”Mother, what if—what if his will isn’t enough? What if he’s already—”

”He’s not,” Cassia said, but her voice lacked conviction. She was the Prime Minister of a Stellar Empire, a woman who had negotiated the dissolution of the Federation and governed twelve billion lives. But right now, she was just a mother watching her son walk into a fire she couldn’t extinguish. ”He can’t be. We’ll know if—”

A holographic interface flickered to life beside them. Rene’s avatar appeared, her expression uncharacteristically strained.

”Prime Minister. Imperial Princess,” Rene said, her voice tight with algorithmic tension. ”I am monitoring Orion’s bio-signs at the quantum level. Every microsecond. His nervous system is gone. His cellular structure is destabilizing. If his spiritual will falters for even a nanosecond, his body will vaporize. I have abort protocols ready. If his heart ring collapses, I will cut the beam in 0.0001 seconds.”

She paused, her digital eyes flickering with something that might have been fear.

”But if I cut it too early, the energy backlash will shatter the Moon. And him with it. I am walking a razor’s edge, and I cannot afford a single mistake.”

Nyla’s breath hitched. ”So we just... wait?”

”We wait,” Rene confirmed. ”And we pray that his will is stronger than a star.”

Cassia closed her eyes. Above them, the Moon continued to burn.

It was already Day 2.

The conceptual ring acted as a catalyst. With neural pathways now saturated with conceptual energy, his consciousness expanded into the architecture of reality itself. Concepts were descriptions. Laws were the storm.

He reached for Fire. Under the Dyson beam’s pressure, the concept fractured. Beneath it lay the raw truth: the universal drive toward thermal transformation and energy release. Law of Fire.

He didn’t just see it. He felt it.

Law comprehension operated on a rigid, unforgiving hierarchy: Initiate, Beginner, Advanced, Master, Perfect. At Initiate, you merely perceived the Law’s existence and grasped its foundational principle. You couldn’t command it. You could only align with it. But it was still countless times more stronger than concepts.

He pushed to the next.

Water. Law of Water. Molecular cohesion, flow, adaptation. Initiate.

Wind. Law of Wind. Pressure differentials, invisible force, atmospheric dynamics. Initiate.

Earth. Law of Earth. Structural stability, mass resonance, planetary endurance. Initiate.

Light. Law of Light. Photon propagation, illumination, radiation. Initiate.

Darkness. Law of Darkness. Absorption, obscurity, wave cancellation. Initiate.

Space. Law of Space. Distance, dimensional folding, spatial continuity. Initiate.

Void. Law of Void. Nullification, absence, erasure of presence. Initiate.

Life. Law of Life. Cellular proliferation, biological synthesis, vitality. Initiate.

Death. Law of Death. Entropy, decay, equilibrium of systems. Initiate.

And the rest. Gravity. Lightning. Nature. Metal. Sun. Moon. Force. Energy.

One by one, all eighteen Laws clicked into his spiritual sea. Each at Initiate level. Each a cold, absolute truth he had barely scratched the surface of. But it was enough. The threshold was crossed.

---

DAY 3 – CONVERSION & THE FIVE RINGS

Comprehension was only the key. Now came the transformation.

Orion pulled his new Law awareness inward. He began converting the conceptual ring energy in his heart and brain into Law energy. The process was agonizing. Conceptual energy was volatile. Law energy was absolute. Forcing the conversion required him to constantly align his spiritual frequency with the eighteen Initiate Laws.

His heart ring stabilized first. It condensed, hardened, and solidified into a single, flawless golden Law ring. The First Gene Lock was officially transcended.

Then came the brain.

Normally, cultivators formed ten minor Law rings around the brain, then fused them into one master ring. But the Dyson beam’s energy, while colossal, had limits. Sol’s output couldn’t sustain ten full conversions. He would have to stop early.

He forced five rings instead.

To compensate for the reduced count, he paired complementary Laws, weaving them into dual-frequency halos:

- One ring bound the Law of Fire and Law of Water.

- One ring bound the Law of Wind and Law of Earth.

- One ring bound the Law of Light and Law of Darkness.

- One ring bound the Law of Space and Law of Void.

- One ring bound the Law of Life and Law of Death.

As the fifth ring locked into place, a psychic shockwave erupted. The dual-Law rings didn’t just orbit his brain. They channeled raw Law energy directly into his neural tissue, elevating his consciousness to impossible levels. Thought became instantaneous. Perception became omnidirectional. He wasn’t just thinking anymore. He was processing reality.

PARALLEL THREADS – RENE’S WAR MACHINE

While Orion’s body became a crucible, Rene’s mind became an empire.

On the bridge of the God’s Core, the Nycton data dump poured in. Star charts. Kreth’mar fleet doctrine. Chronon-scanner frequencies. Weapon dispersion patterns. Rene ingested it all in twelve minutes.

”Integration complete,” she transmitted to the shipyards. ”Adjust Type 3 hull plating to resist chronon-bleed tracking. Reroute all Mark VI queues to capital ship production.”

Across the Jovian and Saturnian moons, fifty million replicators shifted from civilian to wartime output. Titanium-alloy frames, conceptual resonance coils, antimatter injectors. The first wave of refitted Type 3 destroyers slid off the assembly lines within hours.

But hulls meant nothing without crews.

Rene initialized the War Simulation Protocol. She partitioned fifty thousand quantum cores, creating a time-dilated training environment running at 1,000:1. In the real world, an hour passed. Inside the simulation, new candidates and veteran reserves drilled for forty-one days. Tactical coordination. Conceptual weapon synchronization. Emergency breach protocols. Casualty reduction algorithms.

When they woke, they wouldn’t be rookies. They’d be veterans of a war that hadn’t happened yet.
