High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2347: Chapter 568: Priority Level

”Hey, hey, that’s a bit exaggerated!”

”You’re joking, right...”

”This is definitely not an ordinary Illegal Laboratory.”

As Zheng Qing and Xin Fat Man exclaimed in surprise, Xiao Xiao had already made his judgment: ”The bottom of the flying object is over a hundred meters, height over sixty meters, with a slope of about 52 degrees... it’s equivalent to a mini Floating City... There are very few Wizard Organizations with this kind of technology, and it’s extremely costly. Ravens can’t possibly have many such laboratories... In other words, this must be a very important laboratory for the Ravens.”

”So, we’ve caught a big fish this time?” Zheng Qing’s eyes gradually brightened as he stared at the Illegal Laboratory: ”Do you think that ’Professor’ could be inside?”

No one could answer that question.

Raging Magic Power was surging towards the center of the battlefield from all directions. The entire Pyramid-shaped building seemed to be forcibly pulled out from the ground by a pair of giant hands, the Earth Veins breaking, the ground shattering. It was surrounded by a pale red light film, and lots of soil were clinging to its bottom, falling down as it slowly ascended.

The Werewolves’ attacks became more frenzied, desperately holding back the Wizards who were fighting and retreating, trying to disengage.

”Call back the Swordsman and the Gentleman!”

As the Absolution Hunting Team’s captain quickly removed the ordinary Fu Bullets from the Charm Gun’s magazine, replacing them with Blood Symbol Bullets, he commanded unhesitatingly: ”Second Rank battle formation, prepare!”

...

...

Thousands of meters above the ground.

Within a thick cloud.

On the back of the gray-white Raven, Crow No.3, who originally had his eyes closed, suddenly opened them, poking his head out to look at the rising position of the laboratory.

”Why is it so early?”

He murmured in a low voice, uneasily shifting his seat, his fingers inside his sleeve quickly calculating: ”According to the plan, it should ascend after the third round of test subjects are completed. Why was it activated before even the first round of experiments were completed? What on earth went wrong!”

But no matter how he calculated over and over, he couldn’t find any special variables. On the contrary, the premature ascent of the laboratory brought many new changes.

”Professor!”

Crow No.3 finally couldn’t hold back anymore, quietly asking the Professor sitting in front, like a statue: ”Is there something wrong with Mr. Waterlei?”

Waterlei was the Black Wizard invited by the Ravens to oversee this laboratory. To hire him, the Ravens paid with the organization’s most advanced bloodline modification technology, even transplanting a trace of Thunder Titan’s bloodline for him.

Professor Montreya didn’t open his eyes, only letting out a soft laugh.

”What could be wrong? It’s just an old problem common among all Black Wizards, poor self-control, that’s all.”

Although the Professor’s tone was mocking, his voice was very calm, as if he had expected this situation long ago: ”He’s like a little boy who got a new toy, always wanting to show it off to others... Remember the story of the Griffin Giant? The most important thing for becoming a Big Wizard is not Mana, but the mind, the spirit, the awareness... Without these concepts, even if it blooms with the brightest colors at night, it’s just an ephemeral flower.”

”We should have insisted on using our own people,” Crow No.3 said with a hint of regret. In any plan, the worst case is when things don’t go as planned.

However, the Professor seemed to disagree with his view: ”Every Raven is very precious, and I don’t want you wasting sacrifices on such meaningless things.”

...

...

At the battlefield’s edge.

The Absolution Hunting Team’s base.

”Joint Command’s order!”

The green bird hovering above several young hunters revealed its shape from the flame again, flapping its wings and screeching: ”The battlefield situation has changed, the intensity of the battle has escalated, all hunting teams are to be ready to provide support at any time! The Command supplements the order: do not concern yourselves with those illegal test subjects, prioritize taking down the floating laboratory! Repeat, prioritize taking down the floating laboratory! Repeated thrice, prioritize taking down the floating laboratory!”

It was evident that the Diviners at the Joint Command had become completely desperate, to the point of disregarding official document format and speaking plainly.

Zheng Qingyuan originally wanted to make a little joke.

But the next second, he couldn’t bring himself to laugh.

The green bird, after finishing its report, folded its wings and landed on his shoulder, whispering in a supposedly quiet voice that everyone could hear: ”According to the ’First University Management Regulations’, in critical moments, a supplementary explanation of the School Guardian Array’s operating rules may be given: the Guardian Array’s primary responsibility is to protect the First University campus. When the Guardian Array detects any illegal presence that may pose a threat to the campus within the Buji Island range, it is allowed to adjust its priority levels and launch a counterattack immediately, the above!”

This addition seemed to say something, yet like it said nothing.

The young Wizards of the Absolution Hunting Team all looked towards their Diviner in unison, seeking a more precise answer, only to find Doctor Xiao’s face pale, looking as if he had lost too much blood.

”Damn it!”

The short Warlock very rarely swore.

...

...

As the situation deep within the Silent Forest escalated.

At the First University, the top floor of the School Works Committee’s office building, a rarely opened office was in chaos, as a few duty officers from four colleges frantically flipped through standard operating manuals, searching for the cause of the anomaly.

”It really is a Red Alert!”

”Where! Where did the problem occur?”

”Patrol teams from all four colleges have been dispatched, and no illegal invaders have been found... There’s nothing in Beta Town... It’s winter break now, the campus is very clean, it was quick to search!”

”Stop looking for the cause first! Have you notified all departments according to the procedure? Professor Joint Meeting? School Works Committee? Dean’s office? Both vice presidents’ offices?”

”They’ve all been notified... But how should we report? That the School Guardian Array suddenly went berserk? That it’s drawing large amounts of mana from the magic pool to gather Large-Scale Lethal Magic without detecting any enemies? The professors will tear us into pieces!”

”If you don’t notify now, and wait until the Guardian Array throws this Thunder Curse out before notifying, you won’t have to worry about being torn into pieces... The professors will slowly simmer you instead!”

”Can it be stopped from going berserk?”

”Do you think the Guardian Array is your Alchemical Pet? It’s alive! It has its own judgment logic! Any situation that poses a threat to the First University falls within its range of attack... Wait, any situation? ... Immediately expand the monitoring range! Check if there are any high-risk threat events occurring within the Buji Island range!”
