High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2312: Chapter 533: Cleanup Task Force

”Who is the professor?”

The interrogation continued.

”The professor is the professor.”

”Do you know his real name or identity?”

Upon hearing this question, the captive’s eyelids twitched violently a few times, followed by a hint of pain on his face, mumbling and repeating his earlier answer: ”Professor... is the professor... our professor... lets us grow wings... to fly... Professor, is the professor.”

Clearly, the Ravens have set up more complex and powerful mental block magic on this question.

The young wizards of the Absolution Hunting Team were not planning to let the middle-aged wizard’s head explode in front of them. As the interrogation officer, Dylan immediately skipped the question and continued the interrogation:

”What is your duty?”

The pain on the captive’s face quickly faded, and his expression returned to a daze, his voice woodenly saying: ”Find suitable experimental subjects, test different agents... learn.”

”Learn? Learn what?”

”’Standard Spells: College Freshman’ by Yao XiaoMi; ’Sky Text: Freshman Year’ by Emma Netley, ’Standard Potion: First Year College’ by Li QiHuang; ’Basic Yi Learning: First Year of University’ by Yi JiaZi...”

The captive rattled off a series of books and authors’ names very familiar to the young wizards, leaving everyone looking at each other, sensing a seemingly very familiar concept.

”What is your purpose then?” Dylan wasted no time, continuing to question.

”To become the next Griffin!”

For a moment, there seemed to be a sparkle in Tom Hansen’s eyes, his voice carrying a bit of excitement: ”I am willing to follow in the footsteps of those past true Knights. In the sleeping wilderness—riding freely. My destiny will be closely linked to touching legends, following my belief—will be my life’s deed.”

Again, it’s a metaphorical and indicative answer, reminiscent of poetic chants.

Griffin’s name was known to Zheng Qing, he was a wizard from classical magic times in England, accidentally ended up in the Giant World and finally turned into a ’Giant’ with extraordinary bravery and perseverance—this was a little story Mr. told him last time when he blew himself into the Land of Void, trying to leave that empty world.

At this moment, hearing the name again, hearing Tom Hansen speak it, Zheng Qing felt an entirely different, hard-to-describe sensation deep down.

Ring-a-ling!

A crisp bell sounded at the door, interrupting the young wizards’ interrogation work.

The pub door opened, accompanied by the cold wind outside, three wizards in black robes and masks walked in one after another, not blocked by the magic barrier; they too had Trident Sword symbols on their robes and masks, only unlike the cat-faced ones, this time it was three dog-faced masked wizards.

”Aftercare Task Force.”

The leading wizard, tall and even through the mask, his tone’s kindness could be felt: ”I am the leader, Potato, these are my team members, Watermelon and Cowpea.”

After briefly introducing the two teammates behind him, he pulled out a stack of documents: ”...Also, here are the papers for receiving the captive and the on-site inspection report, you will need to sign later.”

”Absolution Hunting Team,” Zheng Qing vaguely didn’t reveal his internal code in the hunting team but didn’t miss introducing his companions: ”This is Fat Man, Doctor, Gentleman... and Swordsman.”

”You came quite fast.” Xin Fat Man muttered.

”It’s already late.”

Another petite black-robed head popped out from behind Captain Potato, raised a finger, and tapped on the mask: ”When you arrived in Newcastle, the Divination Group calculated a change in events, so temporarily drew manpower here to handle the aftermath... Merlin Above, you already gave him the Truth Serum? That’s against the rules!”

She clearly already noticed the anomaly in one of the captives.

According to the agreement between the school and Trident Sword, when student hunting teams face interrogation tasks, a formal employee of Trident Sword must be present— to ’protect’ young wizards’ mental health to some extent.

”Ahem.”

Zheng Qing coughed awkwardly twice.

He hadn’t expected the London support would arrive so promptly, initially planning to ask a few more questions then dump this mess, and according to plan, head to the Dragon Hunting Ground of Absolution.

But he was caught red-handed.

”In urgent situations, rules can be flexed, we’ve all been through such things.” The head of the aftercare team Potato seemingly had no intention of blaming much, smoothing things over: ”...We can listen to it together once more, as long as it follows the process.”

For safety’s sake, Mr. Tom was given the Truth Serum for the third time tonight.

Zheng Qing glanced at his face pale with a hint of blue, already a bit concerned he might be poisoned by magic potions.

Despite having three new ’listeners’, the interrogation results weren’t much different from before; vital information was obscured by powerful magic mist, on-site only yielded some vague answers.

”The London Branch has a dedicated interrogation room, we will send the results to you as soon as possible.” Captain Potato put away the documents signed by Zheng Qing, with a sincere attitude: ”If there’s anything else needed...”

”Much appreciated.”

Zheng Qing pointed at the dwarf wizard named ’Luni Pette’ amidst the crowd: ”We need him to guide us to Eagle’s Dragon Hunting Ground.”

”No problem.”

Captain Potato readily agreed to this small request: ”But like everyone else, firstly this gentleman has to sign this Silence Contract...”

...

...

Nominally, Eagle’s Dragon Hunting Ground is also located in Newcastle.

But because dragon breeding requires large deserted mountainous areas and dense forests to provide ample space for fire dragons to move and hunt, in fact, the hunting ground was quite a distance from the ’White Crow’ pub.

The group hung Armor Horse Charms, swiftly traversing wild mountain trails, deep into the night, nothing but silence, only the subtle ’tok tok’ sound from spell flowing on the Armor Horse Charm audible around.

Dylan led the way with Luni Pette ahead, the Swordsman held the rear, both sides were near a hundred meters apart, Zheng Qing followed alongside Xiao Xiao and Xin Fat Man, with a heavy heart.

”What are you thinking about?”

The diviner of Absolution sensed someone wanted to speak but kept hesitating, so she gently started the conversation.

Zheng Qing forced a laugh, cautiously looking at the front and rear.

”Didn’t you feel, some phrases from Tom just now, had a sort of familiar feeling?” He carefully used some neutral words to describe his thoughts.

Xiao Xiaoeye revealed a knowing look but didn’t immediately speak.

After a moment, it was Xin Fat Man, who’d previously investigated the North District of Beta Town, unable to hold back, furrowed brows and a hint of doubt on his face: ”Don’t you guys also feel he’s somewhat like those fellows from the North District? That craving for magic knowledge, I’ve only seen on conjurers... I mean, previously on Northern District Wizards... could it be those Ravens are backed by Northern District Wizards?”
