High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1772: Chapter 516: The War is Over (Part 3)

When that pale blue new star slowly rose in the Black Prison.

Buji Island.

Outside Beta Town.

The border area where Silent Forest meets Silent River.

Nikita was standing on a high fork of a Return Soul Poplar, listening to the No Face little witch prattle about the captain of the Poseidon beside her ear.

The little witch still wore the exquisite small face of Zhu Si.

”Our captain really likes wizards.”

Zhuzhu sat on a tree trunk, holding her head, swinging her two little short legs, and melancholically looking at the distant flaming sky of Beta Town: ”If he knew the town where so many wizards lived was burned down, he’d be very sad.”

”He just likes the flesh and blood of wizards; he wouldn’t care about the houses in the town,” Nikita chimed in sarcastically.

At this moment, she was gazing in the same direction as the little witch, only because she stood higher and saw farther, so her vision was broader.

The black tide assaulting Beta Town was composed of magical creatures from Silent Forest and strange species she had summoned from Dreamland. But when chaos erupted from the town’s edge, many black-robed, masked Black Wizards emerged from nowhere, joining her army in plundering Beta Town.

The warehouses of the Beta Town merchants’ guild were broken into one after another, and the magic materials, herbs, beast skins, completed alchemy products, and magic potions stored inside were packed up and taken away by the black-robed ones. The wizards guarding the warehouses lay unconscious at the warehouse door, and many small merchants were dragged out of their shops, watching helplessly as the Houdou rushed in and set them on fire at will.

This further intensified the chaos in the town.

While the female demon gazed, the black tide had plunged deep into Beta Town, breaking through several outer sentries of the Alpha Fortress. Standing high, the female demon could clearly see groups of purple spiders waving their slender limbs, crawling along the high walls of Alpha Fortress. Students in white robes bravely raised law books to expel the spiders and activate a temporary defensive magic array. Still, soon the Shatak birds dropped bubbles of foul-smelling poison from the sky, polluting the wizards’ positions.

In the distance, beyond Jiuyou Academy, Starry Magic Cube, and Atlas Pyramid, a black tide was surging in from all directions, impacting the entire First University.

”The ogre opened its mouth full of rotten teeth, the giant monster waved its wooden stick, and the goblin dragged a large snakeskin bag full of shining spoils.”

Nikita hummed a little tune she made up, occasionally tossing out a few red-feathered ’Green Birds’, directing the ’black tide’ to surge into the gaps of the wizards’ positions:

”... The white-robed ones tremble with fear, the blue-robed ones rage with fury, and the yellow-robed ones, like fools, after getting hit on the left cheek, turn the right cheek for another hit.”

The last line was added temporarily after she saw several yellow-robed wizards helping the injured Black Wizards.

At this moment.

The sky suddenly darkened.

The two female demons simultaneously looked up, through the not-so-dense canopy above their heads, seeing the sun in the sky being shrouded by an unknown shadow, the brilliant sunlight vanished, and the whole world seemed to be draped in a light dark veil.

In the dimness, a pale blue new star was slowly rising.

Although far apart, the two female demons could still feel the familiar and alarming pulse emanating from the new star, a pulse from the Black Prison World belonging to the Sea Demon King, their captain’s captain!

Sea Demon King!

Before, these two young female demons had only heard of the sea monarch and never had the chance to meet him.

The shadow of the pale blue new star occupied all of the female demons’ vision, and for a moment, their scarlet eyes seemed to be tinted with a layer of blue hue, revealing an exotic purple gleam.

Also imprinted in their sight was the message revealed by the new star.

The Sea Demon King has become an ancient demon!

This message flashed through Nikita’s sea of consciousness like lightning.

The new star leaped to its zenith, flickered a few times, and then disappeared. At the same time, the blue in the female demons’ pupils faded away, restoring their blood-red eyes.

Nikita shuddered, instantly returning to her senses, grabbing the still-dazed Zhuzhu beside her, jumping down from the tree, and screamed:

”Run! If we don’t run now, it’ll be too late!”

”Hasn’t the king become an ancient demon? Why are we running?” the little witch followed behind her, stumbling and muttering with little confidence.

”To avoid the school’s wrath falling upon us,” Nikita replied briefly, correcting her, ”From now on, don’t call that lord ’king’ anymore; call him ’His Majesty.’”

”His Majesty.”

The little witch murmured, gripping her skirt, trying hard to keep up with Nikita’s galloping figure. Suddenly, she remembered something and hurriedly asked, ”What about them?”

She was referring to the magical tribes and Dreamland creatures driven by the female demon to attack Beta Town and the school. At this moment, they could still clearly hear the roars of the Ancient Leather Giants, see the shadows of the Shatak bird flock gliding over, and smell the stinking burnt stench from the flames the Houdou had left behind in Beta Town.

Nikita’s pace slowed for a moment, then she moved even faster.

”I bless them.”

She lowered her eyelids, gazing at her nose, sincerely praying for a second: ”The warriors under the Demon King’s banner, the future of the Magical World... I bless you to completely smash this school, break the shackles on all rebels, and then leave this island safely and smoothly.”

”As sincere as the rising moon, the setting sun.”

The little witch sighed with a bit of regret and joined Nikita’s prayer, ”As the moon rises, the sun sets.”

While speaking, the two female demons, like wisps of smoke, quietly scurried past gnarled roots and entwined vines, disappearing into the lush depths of Silent Forest.

...

...

”The war is over.”

North District.

Second floor of Sakura Pub.

Korma muttered to herself softly.

She sat in a tall black chair at the end of the hall, looking up, her gaze passing through the lowering ceiling, watching the shadow of the pale blue new star gradually fade away, and exhaled gently.

Outside, the vague discussions of the Northern District Wizards came, as if annotating the restlessness of this late summer.

”... What about these polluted corpses?”

”The First University’s laboratory doesn’t need materials of this level... defective, sample severe distortion... perhaps only some Black Wizards would want them.”

”Even the Corpse-eating Beetles wouldn’t give them a second glance.”

”The Wandering Bar is closed... I mean, you could often find merchants in that shop buying all sorts of weird things; maybe they’d be interested in these corpses.”

”Don’t let these corpses pollute more people; those demons would love us to do so.”

”Burn them.”
