High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1767: Chapter 511 Black Snail

On the Black Prison Battlefield, there exist starry sky followers.

Shi Hui knows this, Elder Ruoyu knows, and most of the wizards and demons on the Black Prison Battlefield also know.

Just like a damp room inevitably draws cockroaches, a world filled with chaos and war cannot avoid the gaze from the starry sky.

As long as this ’variable’ is controlled within a certain range, not affecting the war with demons, wizards will not deliberately expel those eyes from the starry sky.

But evidently, now this ’variable’ has exceeded its threshold.

...

”The principal previously commented on the influence of the Divination Group on the school.”

Elder Ruoyu squints slightly, staring at the large mouth chewing hard on the remains of the Sea Demon King, murmuring: ”He said, being too clever with schemes would mislead dear lives.”

”A principal is indeed a principal.” Six Fingers quietly complimented from the side.

Elder Ruoyu looked at the Dark Council Chairman: ”When you look at that monster, what do you think?”

”It has already broken through the shackles of legend. As long as it can solidify its realm and survive the catastrophe, there will be one more legend in the world.” Six Fingers gently admired, his gaze wandering as if contemplating the possibility of pulling that monster into the Dark Council.

”Nicolas wouldn’t consent.” Elder Ruoyu glanced at the Dark Council Chairman, reminded: ”If you think you can resist Nicolas’ malice, feel free to try to enlist it into your council.”

The Dark Council Chairman involuntarily shivered, shaking his head forcefully.

The Vice Principal of the First University chuckled lightly, paused, and then continued asking: ”Do you have any other impressions?”

The Chairman raised his chin, thought for a moment, and then briefly replied: ”A very magnificent work.”

”That’s what I’m worried about.”

Elder Ruoyu sighed, turned back, and once again looked at the ferocious monster on the battlefield, softly said: ”Such an unsettling response... that’s also why the Alliance, or rather the school, strictly limits the spread of Forbidden Curses... You saw the magnificent and intricate spell formula reactions within it, while we see the terrifying and uncontrollable pollution it poses to the world.”

”What would the principal see?” Six Fingers curiously pursued.

”The principal?”

Elder Ruoyu tilted his head, pondered for a moment, and replied: ”The principal might feel this work is somewhat crude, with much room for improvement.”

”So.” The Dark Council Chairman spread his hands, his tone appearing very innocent: ”Pursuing magnificent and intricate magic isn’t our mistake.”

”But if it’s for magnificence’s sake or intricacy’s sake, one day, you will be in league with them.” Elder Ruoyu extended his index finger, pointing beyond the Silver Snake world, towards the ferocious monster on the Black Prison Battlefield, then pointed at the void overhead:

”Someday, that will become your eternal abode.”

”To become eternal is something worthy of celebration.”

Six Fingers didn’t mind, took off the pointed wizard hat, revealing hair filled with gray and a face covered in wrinkles, he smirked: ”From another perspective, if the starry sky is willing to accept even my dim soul... Then, it seems the starry sky’s threat to the Alliance isn’t as scary as portrayed in the ’Beta Town Post.’

While speaking, the wizard hat in his hand squeezed out unsightly folds, forming a gruesome grinning ghost face, the limp folds twisted, expressing its emotions recklessly.

”On the contrary, the starry sky is more terrifying than the newspaper states.”

Elder Ruoyu turned his head to look at the Dark Council Chairman, his expression becoming increasingly solemn: ”Precisely because they accept all comers and attempt to devour everything in essence, it leads to their irreconcilable contradictions with the world and life. Even an ordinary person, being watched by the starry sky, accepting its pollution, can master fearsome twisted magic, let alone many members under your command, who are real wizards with magic power.”

...

...

Before the inner castle.

Beside the collapsed cell.

The black cocoon formed after the duel between two Black Mountain Goat cubs was roughly torn open, revealing a ferocious figure within, surrounded by strands of a legendary aura.

Originally, one of these cubs had only the level of a registered wizard and was chased by the Kunpeng Hunting Team, fled into the Black Prison recklessly, but it was a devoted follower of the Mother Goddess; the other, though possessing the level of a Great Wizard cub, hid in the Black Prison for a long time to escape Nicolas’ devouring.

Their duel, rather than being a duel between two Black Mountain Goat cubs, was more a duel between Nicolas’ puppet and Nicolas’ rebellious son.

This was a duel between freedom and faith, will and the starry sky.

Both originated from the same source, when tearing and devouring each other, easily re-fusing into one during the duel, the black cocoon was their battlefield of wills contesting each other. Originally, this contest was supposed to last a long time, until the Black Prison war ended, even after the Black Prison’s re-establishment, they might not be able to decide the winner.

This was also one of the primary conclusions when the Divination Group initially calculated excluding astral influence.

But no matter how intricate the divination, it couldn’t surpass the god-send change in variables.

The variable originated from a Xuanhuang Fruit.

The Xuanhuang Fruit thrown back into the battlefield by Eris happened to land on the black cocoon, swallowed by the advantaged Great Wizard level cub.

Then, it touched a trace of legendary aura, quickly overpowering Nicolas’ puppet.

Swallowed the Xuanhuang Fruit and a new engraving of Nicolas, this emerging ’Black Mountain Goat’ pulsing with a legendary aura was no longer a cub,

it desperately longed for more, richer ’legendary elements,’ to stabilize its current state.

At this moment, it sniffed the Sea Demon King’s broken eyeball and along the abundant legendary elements dispersing from it. Driven by evolutionary instinct, it went mad, unhesitatingly rejected the witch’s advice, devoured the Sea Demon King’s remains.

Currently, the ’victor’ emerging on the battlefield no longer had the appearance of a Black Mountain Goat cub but retained those black masses, long rope-like tendrils, and the trickling light green mucus.

From afar, it looked like a snail magnified thousands of times.

This snail, however, was covered with tendrils of varying lengths resembling whips, filled with numerous eyes opening and closing like firefly swarms in the night; its shell wasn’t smooth sedimentary calcium carbonate but stump-like, covered with things similar to coarse tree bark.

As it moved, blotches of light green mucus coated the rough sandy ground of the Black Prison, evaporating into mists filled with corrosive aura.
