High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1755: Chapter 499: Dao in the Vessel

”This is not a Forbidden Spell.”

From the Octagonal Tower, came the calm and clear voice of the Great Diviner Zhuge, resounding across the entire battlefield, answering the Mist Captain’s inquiry:

”Although we can release a Forbidden Spell at any time now. But the Forbidden Spell would destroy the entire World, including all the Wizards within its reach... We’re not as crazy as you, to perish together with the entire World for a few fruits or some Demons.”

”This is not a Forbidden Spell, just an Array with slightly more power.”

”We have named it the Heaven and Earth Profound Yellow Array.”

Upon saying this, he paused.

A moment later, his voice rose again, albeit colder and more sonorous than before, each word resonating with the majestic sound echoing between Heaven and Earth, as if not merely making a footnote, but reciting the spell formula from the Law book word by word:

”Infinite and boundless was the Beginning. The pure and the turbid intermingled, with Xuan and Yellow in harmonious balance.”

”Xuan signifies Heaven; Heaven is above; what is above is called Dao. Yellow signifies Earth; Earth is below; what is below is called Instrument.”

”Heaven carries the Dao, Humans carry the Instrument; the Instrument carries the Dao, and Dao resides within the Instrument.”

”Hence it is said: The Mystic Yellow denotes Mystic Heaven and Yellow Earth.”

”It illustrates where, between Heaven and Earth, one gains the Dao and takes a position within.”

”Therefore: In Heaven, it becomes a symbol; on Earth, it takes form; changes become visible; firmness and gentleness meld; the Eight Diagrams interweave, driven by thunder, nourished by rain; sun and moon run, one cold and one heat. As the voice moves, the north wind rises, as the sword breathes, the Southern constellation evens. When mute, mountains crumble, when commanded, wind and cloud change.”

”The spirit descends, swift away among the clouds.”

”Overlooking Ji Province, it entices surplus; traversing the seas, where lies the end?”

”This is what is called Heaven and Earth Xuan Huang...”

...

...

”This is indeed not a Forbidden Spell.”

”Even though it used many initiation sequences of Forbidden Spells.”

Before the outer fort.

Amidst the icy winds of snow and ice.

After Zhuge had spoken his first sentence, Sir Ulysses also offered a similar judgment.

He tilted his head, listening to Zhuge’s chanting from afar, while casting sidelong glances at the slowly descending Primordial Qi in the sky, feeling the surge of Magic tide from all directions, his eyes gleaming, he murmured, voicing his judgment:

”Shi Hui, though always tough towards us, is not foolish. She won’t risk triggering a total war to destroy this World... and cut off her own path.”

”As for that old man If foolish, he is so lethargic, would avoid action if he can talk his way out.”

”With the dean absent, the vice-deans retain ample rationality... Others wanting to employ a Forbidden Spell, it’s utterly impossible. That being said, their nested spell is indeed beautiful... and impressively powerful... No talent like this in the Land of Desolation... No reason why originally excellent talents would become incompetent in the Land of Desolation.”

”They aren’t oranges.”

”Is it really because after becoming Witch Demons, their brain juices deplete, thus Wizards’ creativity diminishes?”

”Whether they are oranges, I do not know.” Beside him, another Great Witchcraft Sujade interrupted Sir Ulysses’ thoughts that lingered in the spell’s echoing, his voice gloomy:

”But I do know that if we allow this spell to continue developing, the oranges you brought into the Black Prison will probably not even become trifles.”

Sir Ulysses slightly came to his senses, looking around.

At this moment, He was enveloped in heavy shadows, the Primordial Qi descending within, stirring not a ripple, only coating the shadows’ outside with a thin layer of yellow light.

By contrast, Sujade’s state was somewhat worse. His jade-like bones, stained by strands of Primordial Qi, appeared jaundiced, revealing a kind of morbid feebleness.

Even the Great Witch Demon thus, let alone ordinary Demons.

The ’fortunate’ ones already turned into ice sculptures in the previous Big Snow swirling through Heaven and Earth, sparing them from subsequent misery. The unfortunate faced pale in the wind and snow, trembling, still needing to endure the washing of Primordial Qi, unable to live nor die, every moment a massive ordeal.

Sir Ulysses currently had no means to oppose the Heaven and Earth Profound Yellow Array, and those Legends who could were either taken away by the University’s vice-deans, so after a moment of silence, He instead inquired: ”What about those allies from the Dark Council? Didn’t they muster a ’Forbidden Spell’ to exhibit in this World?”

”Regardless if that unverified ’Forbidden Spell’ truly holds such power.” Sujade chafed fiercely at the Primordial Qi staining his bones with a small bone knife, gnashing his teeth, ”Even if they indeed have mastered a Forbidden Spell... would they dare to defy universal condemnation, releasing it in the Black Prison?”

...

...

”The Council instructed us to exhibit this spell!”

”Just ’exhibit’, not allowing us to completely unleash it!”

”In the Black Prison? In front of all the Wizards and Demons? Release a Forbidden Spell? The entire Dark Council must be insane to make such a resolution!”

”When circumstances are pressing, adapt to the situation! If we cannot fend off the Wizards’ Array, we won’t even have the opportunity to go mad in the future.”

”Perhaps true Legends can interrupt the spell formula of this Array.”

”Giant Zero Three, Tiber Dragon, and that moon... Except for these three Quasi-Legendaries present, where is any true Legend? Unless those who took the fruit, ate the fruit, can instantly break that shackle.”

”The shackle of Legend is not so easily broken.”

”Just as only a Legend can contend with Legend. Only a Forbidden Spell can resist a Forbidden Spell... only a Semi-Forbidden Spell can balance with a Semi-Forbidden Spell. The Wizards declared, they have not utilized a Forbidden Spell... Do we have the possibility to lower the explosive power of our Forbidden Spell?”

In the Black Prison’s main fortress.

On the edge of the prison cell ruins.

The huddled Dark Council members united forces to resist the falling Primordial Qi while chaotically discussing countermeasures, thoughts flying.

Soon, their gazes uniformly focused on Giant Zero Three.

With the falling Primordial Qi, Giant Zero Three had retracted its mountain-like enormous true form, becoming a two-meter-high skeleton, to reduce the harm of Primordial Qi on itself—similarly, on the battlefield, almost all the Great Demons and Big Wizards chose to retract their true forms to temporarily evade the edge, rather than facing the entire Array’s pressure head-on, even on the Wizards’ side, under the protection of their home ground, the Big Wizards didn’t want to feel the pervasive taste of Xuan Huang directly.

In Heaven and Earth, it seemed only the two Suns and one Moon above held their enormous true forms, restricted by the Array, patrolling the quarters.

Noting the council members’ sights.

The bone relic on Giant Zero Three’s forehead shimmered slightly, emanating the familiar voice of the Rat Immortal: ”A Semi-Forbidden Spell and a Forbidden Spell are two concepts. The power of a Forbidden Spell is beyond our control.”

”The First University has mastered Forbidden Spells for so many years, only now creating this borderline strategy.”

”And we have merely solved the issue of ’existence’... The only choices we can make are ’release’ or ’not release’. So, do you want to unleash this Forbidden Spell?”
