Chapter 1759: Chapter 503 Legends (Part Four)

Although the feeling of slicing through the endless flesh of Xiangliu with each move was extraordinarily fulfilling.

However, adhering to the principle of never giving the enemy what they want, after several rounds, Shi Hui immediately abandoned the use of Massive Destructive Spells, opting instead to tangle with the Sea Demon King using strategic bind and illusionary magic.

The colorless radiance split again into five colors: red, cyan, yellow, white, and black, spreading out like the five fingers of a hand, sweeping outward like the spiral arms of a galaxy, tearing down the starry sky, while the Witch concealed herself between the spiraled arms and starlight, blurring reality and illusion.

This maneuver drove the seven-headed serpent to a hysteria. It withdrew the Nine Heavy Doors from in front of it, fully extending its body, rampaging recklessly in this already silent mini-universe.

One by one, small asteroids long dormant were shattered by the serpent’s tail, ripples stirred through the tranquil cosmic space with roars, fourteen ’stars’ blossomed boundless blood red, resembling supernova explosions, seeking out the Witch, intent on a decisive battle.

Thus, the Witch became even more certain the Sea Demon King was scheming something, unwilling to clash head-on and even more unwilling to recklessly harm its own body; even when that serpent sold off numerous flaws, extending its neck under the Witch’s hand, she merely turned her wrist slightly, swirling five-colored radiance, pretending not to see the flaws.

After several instances, the Sea Demon King finally realized the opponent’s ’mercy’.

”Are you really that little girl, Shi Hui?”

Fourteen enormous eyeballs fluttered erratically in the void, searching everywhere for the Witch’s presence, the voice filled with malice: ”Aren’t you known for your resenting evil and slaying demons without mercy? Why today is your every move so soft and weak... Is it because you’re seeing this king being thick, big, and long, and you go all weak in your knees?”

Hearing these provocatively vulgar words, the Witch bit her silver teeth, clenched her palm, and with a crack, a small asteroid far away languishing in its orbit was reduced to seventy or eighty fragments.

Xiangliu keenly sensed the anomaly of that small asteroid, and within breaths, two ’stars’ crossed the vast distance, suddenly descending near that small asteroid; finding nothing, they immediately exploded.

Pop! Pop!

”Length is molded by fate, and it ends with exhaustion!”

A hoarse spell voice reverberated in the deathly silent mini-universe accompanying those blasting eyeballs as the Sea Demon King pursued the lingering aura of the witch, decisively sacrificing another head to cast a Blood Curse using Shi Hui’s true name and aura—magic that curses enemies at the cost of one’s life and the tactic most characteristic of the Sea Demon King.

Compared with other legends, the Sea Demon King’s nine heads represented its nine lives, so in battle, it could use this shameless trick without restraint, sacrificing its heads to seriously wound the opposing Legendary Wizard.

Upon hearing the spell, the power of the Blood Curse clung like maggots on bone. Instantly, Shi Hui felt her cultivation dissipate like snow under the midday sun, uncontrolled magic power rapidly dispersing into different dimensions. In her evolving world, there was endless red haze, the land flipped, rivers flowed backward, mountains crumbled—a scene of the world’s end.

At once, she realized that Xiangliu was forcing her to make the ultimate choice.

Should she continue to appease, or should she resist with all her might?

The most direct and effective way to halt the spread of this curse is to defeat the Sea Demon King, forcing it to lose control of the curse.

But resisting with all might might fall into the Sea Demon King’s trap. A battle where two top legends go all out allows no margin for error, a single mistake could mean life or death. Shi Hui had no doubt Xiangliu would throw a few more heads in the duel—perhaps that is exactly what it’s anticipating.

Continuing appeasement, allowing the curse to spread, the Witch believed that when her magic power and cultivation fell below a certain warning line, the Sea Demon King would opt to kill her.

For Xiangliu, it’s a win-win battle, either achieving its goal or hunting a Legendary Wizard of the Alliance, with no loss.

But for Shi Hui, the choice is not only difficult, but nearly a total loss.

Death is acceptable, but dying in ignorance is hard.

Without knowing exactly what the Sea Demon King is plotting, having a Legendary Wizard choose to die calmly is completely impossible. After much pondering, the Witch made her final choice.

Outside the starlight, amidst the blackness and silence, suddenly erupted countless beams of five-colored brilliance, resembling a giant blooming lotus flower. The silhouette of the Witch emerged from the lotus light, holding a brush and swiftly writing a spell into the void:

”The soaring snake rides the mist, ultimately to ash becomes!”

The luminous lotus, like a steadfast dam, temporarily slowed the explosion of the Blood Curse; meanwhile, the counter-curse magic, akin to a tide crashing against the dam, folded back, roaring, rushing straight toward the long-awaiting Sea Demon King along the direction of the Blood Curse.

”Well done! Hahahahaha!!”

”You truly still fear death!”

Xiangliu, perched amidst the starlight, laughed unabashedly, wholehearted in meeting the Witch’s full force attack: ”Candle Dragon! Hold! Shine! Nine! Heavy! Doors!”

With another head lost, this defense spell was slightly weakened compared to before, and the central head had to waste more spell power, simultaneously chanting two words.

Boom!

Nine towering and imposing gates reappeared from the void, arranged back-to-back, using the serpent’s body as the path, one after another, blocking the approaching spell power.

But, no matter how the soaring snake rides the mist, it eventually turns to yellow dirt.

Xiangliu’s massive body, the nine towering gates, the flickering and fading Starry Sky, all decayed layer by layer under the curse. The twelve enormous ’stars’ stabilizing the Starry Sky went out one by one.

The starlight slowly dissipated.

Darkness and silence regained control of this mini-universe.

Only that giant lotus remained at the edge of the universe, standing off against the lingering starlight.

The Sea Demon King’s maniacal laughter ceased abruptly after a long time.

It did not perish.

Because the immense curse power suddenly withdrew when destroying its final head, disappearing into nothingness, leaving only a single gigantic ’star’ lingering alone in the void and darkness, facing the distant blooming five-colored lotus.

”Lucky enough.”

From within the lotus, Shi Hui’s calm voice emerged: ”You didn’t die, and I didn’t die either... This time, we are back at the same starting line.”

In the void, that star shimmered slightly, then gathered the endless brilliance around it, transforming into a stream of light, shooting directly toward the enormous five-colored lotus with a momentum implying mutual destruction.

Yet, despite all efforts, the distance between them did not shrink an inch.

”It took you losing eight and a half heads to think of mutual destruction?” The lotus continually echoed with the Witch’s mocking voice: ”Clearly, having more heads doesn’t make one smarter.”
