High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1092: Chapter 154 Seizure

”No, no, no, of course not.”

Seeing Zheng Qing’s furious appearance, Arthur Ness seemed to be in a good mood, smiling and waving his hand while shaking out a bright red notice, ”We are here today for official business.”

”We heard that Ding Ding Finance and Pest Control Company traded with the Lake Bell Fishman Tribe without permission from the school and the relevant authorities of Beta Town... Is there such a thing?”

Ding Ding Finance and Pest Control Company is the formal name of D&K, although it’s rarely used, so Zheng Qing felt a bit unfamiliar when Arthur mentioned it.

But D&K indeed had a bit of a ’consignment’ relationship with the Fishman Tribe.

This relationship was established because of a young Fishman named Iseni whom they invited at the store opening. Zheng Qing and others helped to consign some specialty products of the Fishman Tribe—such as salted frog legs, accessories made from kappa skulls, dried seaweed—and in return, D&K could take a small commission from the sales.

For D&K, this kind of effortless business was not something to refuse. The only potential risk they faced involved magical items dealt with the Fishman Tribe, which required approval from the relevant departments. Since in the Magical World, it was hard for products to completely lack magical elements, Zheng Qing’s consignment operation appeared slightly non-compliant.

However, at the time of the store opening, the Fishman Tribe was very honest and hadn’t caused the trouble they had today. So, this risk hardly counted as a cost.

From another point of view, with the Wandering Wizards’ black market openly operating on Pedestrian Street, Zheng Qing felt that his own minor infractions were inconsequential. Moreover, the items Iseni placed in the store were just some frog legs and kappa shells, hardly counting as magic items.

Using the logic Zheng Qing comforted himself with, their consignment behavior was like a friend bringing back a few pairs of new shoes from abroad and selling them online for a cheaper price. It hardly counted as smuggling.

Of course, the aforementioned flimsy reasons did not provide Zheng Qing with any backbone when facing the Alpha inspection team.

Upon hearing Arthur Ness’s question, Zheng Qing didn’t immediately reach out for the notice. Instead, he squinted and carefully read the content of the notice.

The content was simple and clear. It explicitly listed the time, location, and quantity of the goods the D&K shop received on consignment from the Fishman Tribe, even the names of the delivery and receiving parties were crystal clear.

Obviously, there was a mole in the store—this was Zheng Qing’s first reaction.

But then he realized this was a Magical World, a world with wizards. Such ’non-compliant’ transactions, once targeted, could be clearly calculated by inviting a few skilled Diviners.

Besides, at that time, everyone thought this business was minor, with miserably thin profits. There were no criminal charges from the citizens, so it didn’t seem worth it to spend extra to use confusion magic.

”Iseni was not illegally onshore; before coming to our store, he had reported to the Academy and had complete approval materials,” Zheng Qing grasped a detail from the notice and said slowly, ”If you need the documents, we can provide them at any time. Of course, it might require some procedures.”

”So, you did have transactions with the Fishman Tribe?” Arthur Ness was not at all sidetracked by Zheng Qing’s words, pushing the issue relentlessly while pushing the red notice even closer, nearly touching Zheng Qing’s nose.

Zheng Qing’s head recoiled slightly as he hesitated whether to pull out his Remington and fire a shot at Arthur’s face across from him.

Boom!

The bright red burst like fireworks could relieve all immediate troubles.

Not to mention the cost student, who was full of wild thoughts, Xiao Xiao also understood the purpose of those in white robes after hearing Arthur·Ness’s words.

He stepped forward and came to Zheng Qing’s side, also refusing to take the notice, but glanced at it and looked straight at those in white robes, saying word by word:

”According to the ’First University Campus Management Regulations,’ when a dispute arises between students from different academies, Article Three applies, which states ’relevant academies shall dispatch an equal number of investigators to negotiate and investigate... report to the School Works Committee for a final decision.’ According to this clause, our dispute cannot be unilaterally settled by the Alpha patrol team.”

Zheng Qing inwardly gave the doctor a thumbs up.

The confrontation-seeking white-robed ones all turned their gazes toward Arthur·Ness, their eyes showing a hint of hesitation.

The smile on Arthur·Ness’s face did not fade but became brighter, as if he had anticipated such a response. This made Zheng Qing mutter to himself.

”Presumably, this is the Xiao Xiao who is famed for having memorized the ’Encyclopedia of the Wizarding World,’” Arthur·Ness praised with an incredibly insincere voice, ”Indeed, his memory rivals that of the ’Encyclopedia Elf’ we bought at home...”

”If you want to fight, just say it! I hate fake assholes the most,” Zhang Ji Xin’s fiery temper immediately exploded, pushing Zheng Qing ahead of him and pointing forcefully at Arthur·Ness’s chest: ”Everyone here is sensible, who are you trying to fool playing innocent, huh?!”

”Zhang Ji Xin attacked a patrol team member, fifty points deducted,” Arthur·Ness nonchalantly sidestepped, dusted his chest robe, his smile fading as he turned and spoke to the female scribe beside him. Then, as if discovering something new, he exclaimed, ”Oh, my apologies, I didn’t notice that Zhang’s conduct points were already below fifty... Well then, I’ll be generous and only deduct down to zero points.”

Behind him, laughter from the white-robed ones emerged softly.

Zheng Qing and Xiao Xiao, one on each side, held Zhang Ji Xin’s arms to prevent him from making any more drastic moves. Xin Fat Man stood beside them, his face turning from blue to white, and finally slowly back to pale.

After waiting a long while and seeing that no one from the opposing side acted rashly anymore, Arthur·Ness finally sighed in disappointment and elaborately explained, ”Since Xiao mentioned the campus regulations, we need to clarify a premise, that is, Beta Town belongs within the domain of Alpha Fortress; Alpha Fortress has an indisputable right over Beta Town... This right has given us the power to come here today.”

”Just as your Jiuyou Academy recently told the Fishman Tribe, ’sovereignty is greater than jurisdiction.’”

Well, using their own spear against their shield!

The several members of the Absolution Hunting Team present were so infuriated by these words that they transcended enlightenment and had no words to retort!

”Thus,” Arthur·Ness raised his voice slightly, adding in a slick tone, ”according to the regulations of Alpha Academy, we need to temporarily seal your little store... to prevent you from tampering with evidence.”
