High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1087: Chapter 149 Punishment Plan and New Scheme

Xin Fat Man’s Raven’s mouth was always accurate.

The next day didn’t even come.

On the very evening of the end of the Greenery-Outing Festival, Zheng Qing had already received a visit from Professor An and another responsible person from the School Works Committee in his dormitory. Professor An appeared as the student affairs liaison for Jiuyou Academy.

Their reason for the visit was simple.

Because Zheng Qing had left his team without authorization during the Greenery-Outing Festival activities, thereby violating related management regulations, the school imposed a penalty of demerit on him, deducted five conduct scores, and sentenced him to fifty hours of patrol duty, not limited to day or night.

Calculated at a night patrol work time of four to five hours per session, Zheng Qing needed to participate in more than ten night patrols at the very least.

”They’re all familiar faces, so I won’t say too much. Since Old Yao has been rather busy lately, I’ve come to deliver the notice of punishment to you in person.”

After sending away the Grey Robe Wizard from the School Works Committee, Professor An, with a stern face, handed over a red notice of punishment to the young public-funded student while glaring at him, ”You know where to get your assignments, right? Do I need to repeat it again?”

Zheng Qing accepted the notice of punishment, the color and format of which were very familiar to him, and with a smile on his face and obedient nodding, indicated that he knew where to get his assignments. Then, he decisively shook his head, meaning he did not need Professor An to repeat himself.

Professor An continued to ask, ”Do you have any objections to the school’s punishment?”

Zheng Qing continued to keep his mouth shut, shaking his head no like a rattle-drum.

”Do you have anything else to say about this incident?”

Zheng Qing immediately raised his right hand, holding up three fingers with little confidence, he declared, ”There definitely won’t be a next time! This incident has fully exposed my insufficient understanding of group activities; I failed to adopt the correct attitude from the beginning and take them seriously. My reckless behavior during the event severely affected the spring outing experience of all my classmates...”

While listening to Zheng Qing’s endless Greenery-Outing reflections, Professor An looked up, watching the young Wizard through his nostrils, and tried his best to control the volume of his snorts.

When Zheng Qing heard the snorts, he belatedly realized and stopped speaking, looking embarrassed.

”You don’t need to read your self-criticism to me; that’s something for your class to deal with.” Professor An pointed out the window, ”At the class meeting next week, you go on stage and read it to your classmates yourself!”

From the bed behind in the dormitory, low chuckles came from Xin Fat Man’s bunk.

Zheng Qing wore a pained expression and agreed.

”What’s that noise?!” Although Professor An was very dissatisfied with Zheng Qing, he also disliked anyone who disrupted the atmosphere when he was schooling someone, and so he looked up angrily towards the Fat Man’s location.

”It’s a cat meowing, sir!” Xin Fat Man, without hesitation, pinched Tuan Tuan’s two front paws and pushed it out.

Fat Cat hung its body limp, its tail soft and droopy on the bed, weakly swept it around while squinting sleepily, and lazily meowed at Professor An.

And truth be told, the sound was indeed similar.

Professor An glared angrily at Fat Cat, glared at Zheng Qing again, and finally left the dormitory abruptly, dropping the phrase ’take care of yourself’ behind him.

”I can already imagine Duan Xiao Jian’s smug smile in the next Curse Course.” With Professor An gone, Zheng Qing stood by the window, gazing at the bleak spring scenery, and let out a deep sigh, his voice laden with melancholy.

This wasn’t the first time he had faced such a situation.

After the Moon Hunting last semester, when the Absolution Hunting Team won the championship in the freshmen competition, many questioned their victory, casting suspicions of match-fixing and underhandedness, he had felt the sting of public condemnation.

But compared to these superficial wounds, Zheng Qing felt he had more important matters to attend to.

”There’s something, I need your help with.” Zheng Qing solemnly called out to the other three roommates in the dormitory, slightly lowering his voice, ”It’s about the Silent Forest...”

”Stop right there!” Xiao Xiao immediately raised his hand to halt Zheng Qing from continuing, ”Didn’t you say that you’ve already signed a Silence Contract with someone? Aren’t you afraid that if you say something you shouldn’t, the Power of the Pact will backfire on you?”

Zheng Qing gave the Doctor a sideways glance:

”With magic restricting me, could I actually say what the contract doesn’t allow me to? You’re supposed to be a man with a ’Doctor’ title! How could you make such a rookie mistake!”

”It’s not a rookie mistake, it’s actually a tactful rejection.” Dylan’s haunting voice rose from inside the coffin, ”Obviously, Doctor Xiao doesn’t intend to get involved in your mess... It’s not that he lacks common sense, but you lack worldliness.”

Zheng Qing kept a poker face, pretending not to hear Dylan’s words.

”We... I mean the Absolution Hunting Team, our next phase of major Practice will be arranged in the Silent Forest.” He raised his voice slightly, overcoming the sound of Xiao Xiao flipping pages and Xin Fat Man playing with the cat, ”It’s near the hunting area we visited for winter hunting last semester. Our goal is to find a ’treasure’!”

The last word finally captured the attention of the others in the dormitory, even Dylan poked his head out of the coffin.

”Treasure?” Mister Wolfman showed a trace of interest on his face, ”It’s rare to hear about a treasure near First University anymore. If there was one, it would have been looted empty by those locust-like seniors of ours a long time ago. Where did you get this information? Oh right, you can’t tell us, can you?”

With that, he mimicked the gesture of signing a contract.

”It is said that the treasure is hidden within a certain small Secret Realm in that forest.” Zheng Qing gestured smartly at Dylan, then turned to the other two roommates, his tone increasingly upbeat, ”Our time is of the essence! Our allies, uninformative! Our gains, to be equally shared...”

Xin Fat Man, with a cat in one arm and the other hand raised cautiously, interrupted Zheng Qing’s impassioned speech.

”Ahem, I mean, Captain.” He began timidly, ”Shouldn’t this matter be discussed at a full team meeting of the Absolution Hunting Team... What you’re telling us now isn’t very useful.”

”No need,” Zheng Qing dismissed the idea with a straightforward wave of his hand, ”The Elders are adventurers at heart; there’s no reason for them to refuse. As long as I convince a few of you, no matter what, the proposal will pass at the full team meeting... It’s that ’minority obeys the majority’ method.”

Xin Fat Man sighed and turned to Xiao Xiao and Dylan.

”Let’s go get insurance,” he suggested to the two in a negotiating tone, ”I heard that the Wizard United Bank Nine Realms Branch is recently offering Sam’s Pass all-weather personal insurance, which can provide up to three thousand jade coins of coverage for students at First University. Should we chip in and get a group policy?”

”That’s open for discussion.” Dylan nodded seriously.

Zheng Qing’s face darkened at once.
