High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 980: Chapter 42 3 Chicks

The Witch walked towards the three guests.

Her long hair seemed to be held up by an invisible hand, naturally rising behind her to form a slanted ponytail that hung beside her right ear, revealing her slender and fair neck.

With just a simple spell, she had transformed her aura from that of a cult leader to that of the girl-next-door, which was sigh-worthy.

”Ho, and there’s someone familiar!” Korma went behind the bar and poured herself a glass of iced water, watching Zheng Qing with interest, and said with a smile, ”So, you’ve decided to chase after me, huh... Although you’re not ’Lei Zhe’ right now, as a member of the Great Arcana’s world, you meet my standards.”

In the hall, men and women who had been standing together in groups all turned their heads, craning their necks to look at Zheng Qing.

The young scholarship student’s lips trembled, feeling as if his head were going to explode.

When he last greeted this senior in the student union office, he felt that they were on different wavelengths, but he hadn’t expected the situation to be even worse this time—if he had known the client was this senior, he definitely wouldn’t have agreed to Doctor Xiao removing that notice.

At this thought, he glared at Xiao Xiao, increasingly annoyed.

But unexpectedly, both of his companions were looking at him as if they were looking at trash.

”What’s with those looks?” Zheng Qing was going a bit crazy.

”You know,” Xiao Xiao said succinctly to express his thoughts.

Compared to him, Xin Fat Man was more straightforward: ”So, we can be sure of three people now, right? Headmaster Jiang, Miss Jones... and this third-year senior?”

As he said this, he turned to glance at Korma, who was picking out drinks from the shelf with her back to them, and whispered, ”No need to explain, explanation is just covering up... We need to have a good talk about this later.”

Zheng Qing touched his grey cloth bag, seriously considering whether he should draw his two big guns and blow up the greasy head of the fat man.

Before he could put it into practice, Korma had already turned around with a bottle of Green Bee.

”What were you guys just talking about?” she asked curiously, looking at the wizards.

”Fatso’s hoping you’ll give him a freebie,” Zheng Qing said expressionlessly, gesturing towards Xin beside him.

”Oh, that won’t do,” Korma flicked her ponytail and spoke rapidly, ”The income from bar sales is an important component in supporting the operation of our club... In fact, I think you guys should buy a few more glasses of Amber Light.”

Xin Fat Man immediately shook his head vigorously, his cheeks making a biangbiang sound with the motion.

Korma put down the bottle she was holding, disappointed.

”How about this, I’ll treat you to three glasses... and then you buy the rest, how does that sound?”

As she spoke, she crooked her finger, and three clean glasses bounced out of the cupboard, lined up and hopped in front of the wizards. Five or six ice cubes appeared out of thin air, tinkling as they fell into the glasses.

”These three glasses are on me,” Korma emphasized again and then swung her arm generously, but her next words revealed her true intention: ”...but if you want more, you’ll have to pay for them yourselves.”

”With that,” she shook the bottle in her hand and added, ”there’s still enough for at least six drinks.”

Just as Zheng Qing brought the cup to his lips to take a sip of Green Bee, he forcefully resisted the urge to spray the drink across the face of the witch opposite him.

A bottle of Green Bee was only five hundred milliliters, and it didn’t cost more than two Silver Horns at the Wandering Bar. In Korma’s hands, it suddenly turned into nine drinks, and according to the previous price of one Silver Horn for three Bronze coins, nine drinks would total nine Silver Horns and twenty-seven Bronze coins. One Silver Horn was equal to twenty Bronze coins, which meant that by just adding a few ice cubes, she was able to turn a profit of more than five times.

If she could get the Green Bee directly from the manufacturer at wholesale prices, the cost could be even lower.

”That’s such a rip-off,” Zheng Qing muttered, cradling his cup. He suddenly thought that his own D&K could expand to include a similar line of business, only he couldn’t quite remember whether the scope of the license he’d obtained for his venture covered the sale of alcohol.

”A rip-off?” Korma, upon hearing Zheng Qing’s muttering, looked up at the ceiling and seemed thoughtful, ”Hmm, it is a bit dark... but it is daytime now. It would be somewhat wasteful to release all the fireflies. Let’s wait for nighttime. If you come by in the evening, the lighting might be a bit better than now.”

She seemed to have misunderstood what Zheng Qing had just said, and the warlock was amused enough not to correct her.

After the four of them clinked glasses, Xiao Xiao pulled out the request he had taken down from the bulletin board and handed it to the witch.

”We saw this at school, and according to the requirements, we’re eligible,” he pointed to the terms listed on it and finally added, ”Besides, Xin Fat Man was about to come to North Beta Town for some research, and we had time, so we’ve taken on your commission.”

Xin Fat Man, having just taken a sip of his drink, heard the doctor mention him and immediately puffed out his chest to assert his presence.

Korma took the request and glanced over it. Then she looked up at the three young wizards with a scrutinizing gaze that made Zheng Qing feel uneasily familiar.

Instead of speaking right away, the witch fished a pencil out of her pocket and started chewing on it.

The already pockmarked barrel of the pencil was quickly covered with a new series of fine, dense marks, making Zheng Qing’s teeth hurt just by looking at it.

”That’s bad for your teeth,” he couldn’t help but advise her, but immediately regretted it.

As expected, his two companions almost simultaneously let out sighs of affirmation that upset the young scholarship student even more.

Upon hearing Zheng Qing’s advice, Korma paused, looked down at the pencil in her hand, then quickly looked up with a twinkle in her eye, ”Oops, sorry about that... old habit. I used to chew on pencils when I was hungry. But, even if you’re trying to be sweet to chase after me, this still isn’t enough... You’ll have to try harder!”

With that, she winked at Zheng Qing, making the young wizard feel an urge to grab his drink and hit himself over the head with the cup.

Low chuckles from his two companions could be heard nearby.

”Alright, enough chit-chat,” the witch clapped her hands, drawing the young men’s attention, ”Since you three have decided to participate in the Jini Cottage’s sexual magic ritual, I must ask one more time before the ritual begins... are you doing this voluntarily? We need virgins, are you sure you have no experience, right?”

”Pfft!”

”Pfft!”

”Pfft!”

Unable to hold it in any longer, Zheng Qing sprayed out the drink he had just taken into his mouth, then started coughing violently. Just like him, both Doctor Xiao, who had previously looked unflappable, and slick-haired Xin Fat Man, spewed out their drinks as well.
