The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 491: Chapter 491: Learning is Endless, the Adept is the Teacher

Divine Doctor Xue quickly apologized, ”Divine Doctor Cheng, my apologies! I should have come to greet you personally. Forgive me for this poor reception. I’m coming out to get you right now!!”

Divine Doctor Xue hung up the phone and scurried outside with hurried little steps.

At the entrance of Huichun Hall.

Cheng Yuan looked at Divine Doctor Liang with a faint smile. ”You must be Divine Doctor Liang, correct? Divine Doctor Xue is on his way. I’ll let him explain everything to you personally in a moment.”

Divine Doctor Liang was utterly speechless!

’Is this kid addicted to putting on a show?’

’Does he really think he’s Divine Doctor Cheng?’

’Divine Doctor Cheng is Divine Doctor Xue’s teacher. He must be ninety years old, if not a hundred!’

Divine Doctor Liang had no time to waste arguing with a wet-behind-the-ears kid like Cheng Yuan. Waving over to the Patrol Officers on patrol nearby, he called out, ”Officers, someone is causing a disturbance here. Could you please remove him!”

A few Patrol Officers hurried over, their expressions serious. ”Who’s causing the disturbance?” one asked.

Divine Doctor Liang pointed at Cheng Yuan. ”It’s him! He’s impersonating Divine Doctor Cheng, trying to get into Huichun Hall and cause trouble.”

The Patrol Officers immediately surrounded Cheng Yuan. One spoke, albeit politely, ”Young man, Divine Doctor Liang has accused you of impersonating Divine Doctor Cheng to cause a disturbance at Huichun Hall. Please leave at once!”

Cheng Yuan was exasperated. ”Officers, I’m not impersonating anyone. I *am* the Divine Doctor Cheng he’s talking about.”

The Patrol Officers rolled their eyes. ’This kid won’t give up until he hits a brick wall!’

’Did he really think they were that easy to fool?’

”This is your first warning! Young man, if you refuse to cooperate, we will be forced to take action!”

”I’m really not an imposter!”

”Second warning! Leave now!”

The officer’s tone grew severe, and two of them even reached for their handcuffs.

The moment their captain gave the third warning, they would haul Cheng Yuan away by force.

Just then, a panting Divine Doctor Xue finally burst out of Huichun Hall. When he saw Cheng Yuan surrounded by Patrol Officers, Divine Doctor Liang, and the others, he broke out in a cold sweat.

Divine Doctor Xue shouted, ”Stop! What do you think you’re doing?”

Everyone turned instinctively to see Divine Doctor Xue.

Cheng Yuan finally let out a sigh of relief. ’Old Xue’s here. Now he can clear my name.’

The group of young doctors burst out laughing.

”Hey kid, Divine Doctor Xue is here. Why’d you stop your little act? Go on, keep boasting!”

”Well, speak of the devil! Hey kid, need an introduction? This is the very Divine Doctor Xue you claimed invited you over. Go on, say hello to him!”

Divine Doctor Liang’s eyes lit up as well. He strode forward and said in an exaggerated tone, ”Old Xue, you have no idea! Some clown popped up out of nowhere claiming to be your teacher! He even said you invited him! How hilarious is that?”

The young doctors folded their arms, watching Cheng Yuan with smirks as they waited for him to make a complete fool of himself.

In their minds, Divine Doctor Xue would surely give Cheng Yuan a furious dressing-down, then order the Patrol Officers to haul him away.

However, what happened next was something none of them expected. Divine Doctor Xue didn’t even spare a glance for Divine Doctor Liang. He ran straight to Cheng Yuan and gave him a deep, respectful bow.

”This student pays his respects to Master Cheng!”

Huh??

Divine Doctor Liang and the young doctors were frozen solid, staring dumbfoundedly at the scene before them, utterly speechless.

’Divine Doctor Xue is one of the top five Divine Doctors in the entire Dragon Country Traditional Chinese Medicine Community, yet he was bowing to some kid who popped up out of nowhere?’

’And he even called him Master Cheng?’

’Has the world gone mad?’

The Patrol Officers exchanged bewildered glances. ’What in the world is going on here?’

’One moment he’s telling us to get rid of the guy, the next he’s bowing to him!’

’How were they supposed to handle this?’

Cheng Yuan rolled his eyes irritably. ”Old Xue, I never agreed to be your teacher! Stop calling me that! Didn’t we already settle this? You’re always welcome to a technical exchange, but forget about this whole master-disciple thing!”

Divine Doctor Xue replied with a grave expression, ”While we may not have the title of master and disciple, Master Cheng, we have the substance of such a relationship. Your guidance has benefited me immensely! Therefore, whether you acknowledge me as your disciple or not, I will continue to treat you with the respect and etiquette due to a teacher.”

Standing to the side, Divine Doctor Liang began to stammer, ”Xue... Divine Doctor Xue, y-you’re joking, right? He’s so young! How could he possibly be your teacher?”

Divine Doctor Xue’s expression darkened. ”There is no limit to learning; the accomplished one is the master. Even the great sage Confucius was willing to learn from a child. We are mere mortals, so why can we not take a young man as our teacher?”

Divine Doctor Liang lowered his head in shame. ”Thank you for the lesson, Divine Doctor Xue. I stand corrected.”

Divine Doctor Liang was a straightforward man. Realizing he had misjudged Cheng Yuan, he apologized without hesitation. ”Divine Doctor Cheng, I misunderstood you earlier. Please accept my sincere apology!”

”Divine Doctor Cheng, we misunderstood!”

With Divine Doctor Liang having apologized, the young doctors had no choice but to follow his lead. Their apologies, however, were rather half-hearted and insincere.

’In fact, they were still wondering if Divine Doctor Xue had been duped by this kid.’

Divine Doctor Xue turned to the Patrol Officers and said amicably, ”It was just a small misunderstanding. Thank you for your trouble, officers.”

”No trouble at all. We’re just glad the misunderstanding is resolved.”

Divine Doctor Xue turned his head, looked at Cheng Yuan with the utmost deference, and said, ”Master Cheng, please, after you.”

Cheng Yuan couldn’t be bothered to correct Divine Doctor Xue’s title for him and followed the man into Huichun Hall with a blank expression.

As the Divine Doctors of the Dragon Country waited with craned necks, Divine Doctor Xue finally arrived at the main hall with Cheng Yuan in tow.

Hearing footsteps, the Divine Doctors of the Dragon Country all turned to look, their faces showing their confusion.

Divine Doctor Liu asked, ”Divine Doctor Xue, didn’t you go to fetch Divine Doctor Cheng? Where is he?”

The other Divine Doctors were also baffled. ’Time is almost up, so why did Divine Doctor Xue bring some junior back with him? Where is Divine Doctor Cheng? Don’t tell me he chickened out, did he?’

PUFFT. The Korean Medicine practitioners standing beside Park Hao couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

”Hahaha, that so-called Divine Doctor Cheng must have known he was outmatched and decided to desert at the last minute! There’s nothing left to discuss! Our Korean Medicine is the true orthodox tradition! Your Traditional Chinese Medicine is merely a branch of our Korean Medicine!”

Divine Doctor Jiang reached the same conclusion. ’That Divine Doctor Cheng must have chickened out.’

’But I, Jiang Daoyue, will absolutely not admit defeat!’

Jiang Daoyue let out a long, slow sigh.

”So be it. This is fate! I, Jiang Daoyue, will face the Han Medical Needle Saint myself!”

Divine Doctor Xue hurriedly stopped Jiang Daoyue. ”Divine Doctor Jiang, please, calm yourself! I have brought Divine Doctor Cheng! This young man here is Cheng Yuan, Divine Doctor Cheng!”

Everyone in the room was dumbfounded.

They stared at Divine Doctor Xue in utter disbelief.

’What did Divine Doctor Xue just say?’

’This kid is Divine Doctor Cheng?’

’Holy hell!’

’Has this kid even graduated from college?’

’He’s still wet behind the ears!’

’Even if he’d been studying medicine since he was in the womb, he wouldn’t be qualified to be called a Divine Doctor!’

’Which one of them hadn’t been immersed in the Medical Dao for forty or fifty years?’

’Has Divine Doctor Xue lost his mind?’
