The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 472: Chapter 472: Cheng Yuan, I’m Going to Snatch You

Cheng Yuan slowly opened his eyes to a face that could easily outshine Wang Shanshan, and was even a bit prettier than Shen Manwen.

The girl in front of him looked a little familiar, but he couldn’t quite place her.

”I’m Cheng Yuan. And you are?”

A flash of obvious disappointment crossed He Zhixuan’s face. Ever since she had met Cheng Yuan, she had gone to watch him play soccer and cheered for him every single day.

And to think, he didn’t even remember her...

”Junior Brother, do you remember the senior sister who was welcoming freshmen on the first day of school?”

A look of astonishment crossed Cheng Yuan’s face. He stared at He Zhixuan, and a spark of recognition ignited in his mind!

”I remember now! It’s He... sorry! I can’t remember Senior Sister He’s name.”

He Zhixuan gritted her teeth in frustration. She was the number one beauty of Luocheng Medical University back in the day, after all. ’And this little rascal, Cheng Yuan, actually forgot my name!’

”It’s He Zhixuan! And don’t you forget it this time, Cheng Yuan!”

”They say it takes five hundred glances in a past life to brush past someone in this one. In this vast sea of people, for us to meet by chance twice, Senior Sister—isn’t that a sign of incredible fate? Rest assured, Senior Sister. I will absolutely remember your name this time.”

A satisfied smile spread across He Zhixuan’s face. ”I suppose you have a heart after all.”

He Zhixuan sat down next to Cheng Yuan, and the two began to reminisce about their school days.

As they talked, He Zhixuan brushed her hair back and asked nonchalantly, ”Cheng Yuan, I’m curious. What was your first impression of me?”

Cheng Yuan answered truthfully, ”In high school, all the girls wore no makeup and were in school uniforms. They all seemed so... young. It wasn’t until I got to college that I realized a goddess as exquisite as you even existed, Senior Sister. I was completely smitten back then. I barely dared to even look at you. It felt like a second glance would be a sacrilege.”

He Zhixuan was overjoyed at his words, but her spirits quickly fell. Pouting, she asked, ”Then why didn’t you chase me? If you had, you might have caught me, you know?”

Cheng Yuan looked at He Zhixuan with a complicated gaze and said with a wry smile, ”Two reasons. First, my family background was very ordinary, and I told myself I wasn’t good enough for you back then. Second, I once saw you get into a middle-aged man’s BMW.”

He Zhixuan rolled her eyes in annoyance. ”So, you thought I was a gold digger?”

”I did at the time. Later, I heard through the grapevine that the middle-aged man was your butler. I guess we just weren’t meant to be, huh?”

Cheng Yuan heaved a long sigh. If he hadn’t misunderstood He Zhixuan back then, if he had worked up the courage to pursue her, his fate might have changed dramatically.

He wouldn’t have ended up in prison for assault.

Unfortunately, there are no ’what ifs’ in this world.

What’s missed is missed.

He Zhixuan nervously twisted the hem of her clothes. ’So, he had always ignored me, sometimes even deliberately avoiding me, all because of a misunderstanding?’

”Cheng Yuan, the truth is, I’ve had a crush on you since the first time I saw you! I would go watch your dashing figure on the soccer field every day. I even used to sneak drinks into your uniform pocket. Since fate has given us a chance to meet again, it must mean we’re truly destined! Can we start over? I’m in Gui City now. I’ve opened a small clinic. Would you be willing to stay in Gui City for me?”

He Zhixuan fixed her gaze on Cheng Yuan’s eyes. All he had to do was nod, and she would marry him in a heartbeat!

She wouldn’t care even if it led to the downfall of the He Family!

Cheng Yuan was stunned!

’This misunderstanding has gotten way out of hand.’

’So it was my senior who was secretly leaving drinks for me? I always thought it was Wang Shanshan, and that’s why I started chasing her...’

’Does that mean the girl cheering for me on the soccer field every morning wasn’t Wang Shanshan either? It was my senior!’

’But why did I only have eyes for Wang Shanshan and completely miss my senior?’

’Damn it!’

Crestfallen, Cheng Yuan lowered his head. ”Senior Sister, I’m afraid we really aren’t meant to be. There’s already someone in my life.”

He Zhixuan didn’t panic in the slightest. ”I know that! Your girlfriend is Wang Shanshan, right? But you don’t know the real Wang Shanshan! After you went to prison, she got together with Jin Pengfei! She’s nothing but a two-faced gold digger! She’s not worth it!”

A flicker of sadness crossed Cheng Yuan’s eyes. ”You’re right, Senior Sister. Wang Shanshan really isn’t worth it, but...”

Before Cheng Yuan could finish, He Zhixuan cut him off. ”Cheng Yuan, don’t say another word. I’ve made up my mind. Since fate brought us back together, I’m determined to win you over!”

”Uh...”

Cheng Yuan felt a massive headache coming on. One Sister Shishi was already enough of a handful, and now He Zhixuan too... Just thinking about it made his head throb!

He Zhixuan had talked a big game, but inwardly her heart was heavy, and her brow furrowed with worry.

Cheng Yuan could see something was troubling her. He asked gently, ”Are you in some kind of trouble, Senior Sister? Why don’t you tell me about it? Maybe I can help.”

”Cheng Yuan, you know what I’m like. I wouldn’t normally be this bold and forward, even after running into you again. It’s all because my family arranged a marriage for me to a good-for-nothing rich heir who does nothing but drink, gamble, and womanize. I can’t just jump into that fire pit. My only choice is to gather my courage and fight for my own happiness.”

”Didn’t your parents try to stop it?”

”My parents were in a car crash during my senior year of college. My grandfather was so worried he had a stroke, and my uncle used the opportunity to seize control of the He Group. I was supposed to become a vice president at the company right after graduation, but now... now all I can do is run this small clinic. I have to live at the mercy of my uncle’s whims.”

”I’m so sorry, Senior Sister. I had no idea.”

”It’s okay.”

”Senior Sister, if you don’t want to marry that rich heir, I can pretend to be your boyfriend or fiancé to help you call off the engagement.”

’Just pretend?’

’No way!’

’I want a real boyfriend, a real fiancé... or you could just be my husband, that would be fine too!’

He Zhixuan looked at Cheng Yuan with a wry smile. ”Cheng Yuan, you have no idea how prominent that heir’s family is. Even a tycoon like my uncle, worth hundreds of millions, has to grovel before him. Aren’t you afraid they’ll come after you? You have to understand, this is real life, not some petty squabble on campus.”

”I’m not afraid, Senior Sister. Actually, I...”

Of course, He Zhixuan knew Cheng Yuan wasn’t afraid of powerful people. If he were, he wouldn’t have ended up in prison for three years for ’beating’ Jin Pengfei.

He Zhixuan cut him off.

”Cheng Yuan, I know you’re not afraid of powerful people, but I can’t just drag you into this for no reason. If you’re willing to be with me, then I’ll take you home to my family! If you’re not, then I won’t pull you into this bottomless whirlpool! Just pretend I never said anything. Just think of me as someone passing through your life. Forget about me... just like you did before.”

The air between them suddenly grew heavy.

Cheng Yuan could feel her helplessness and pain. He desperately wanted to pull her into a firm embrace and comfort her.

’But he already had Lin Ruoxi!’

’He couldn’t!’

’I have to deal with this Han Medical Needle Saint first,’ Cheng Yuan resolved privately, ’but after that, I’m going to the He Family’s home. I have to help Senior Sister escape this sea of misery!’

Not wanting to put too much pressure on Cheng Yuan, He Zhixuan was the first to break the silence, forcing a relaxed expression. ”Oh, right, I forgot to ask earlier. Cheng Yuan, what are you doing in Gui City?”

Cheng Yuan answered truthfully, ”I was invited to compete with the Han Medical Needle Saint.”

PUFFT. He Zhixuan burst out laughing, and the gloom from her engagement troubles seemed to lift considerably.

”Stop bragging, Cheng Yuan! You just spent three years in prison, and you haven’t even graduated yet! What makes you think you can compete with Park Hao? Besides, most people aren’t even qualified to be spectators. I’ve been practicing medicine for years, and even I’m not qualified to watch!”
