The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 486: Chapter 486: Are You Convinced?

Cheng Yuan had no idea that Chang Lanxin had already developed feelings for him. Otherwise, his head would be throbbing.

Cheng Yuan stared at Lin Shaofeng, his face devoid of expression, and asked coldly,

”Lin Shaofeng, I smashed a bottle over your head. Do you submit?”

Lin Shaofeng shuddered in fear and nodded frantically.

”I submit! I submit!”

”I had Xiaosun slap you. Do you submit?”

”I submit! I submit!”

”And from now on, a photo of your pathetic state will be hung above the bar at Lanxin Bar. Do you submit?”

The corner of Lin Shaofeng’s mouth twitched. ’This is too cruel! I’ll become the laughingstock of all Gui City, the biggest joke among the city’s elite playboys!’

But Lin Shaofeng didn’t dare refuse. Gritting his teeth, he said, ”I submit! I submit! I’ll frame the photo myself! From this day forward, I, Lin Shaofeng, will never set foot in Lanxin Bar again!”

Cheng Yuan shook his head gently. ”No,” he said lightly. ”From now on, you will come to Lanxin Bar every day and reflect beneath that photo for ten minutes.”

This was twisting the knife.

Lin Shaofeng nearly shed tears of humiliation, but he dared not defy Cheng Yuan’s command.

”Yes, Third Master!”

Cheng Yuan turned to Chang Lanxin and said gently, ”Senior Sister, you’re in charge of supervising Lin Shaofeng. If he dares to miss a day, tell me immediately. You can decide when to take his photo down.”

”Okay!”

Cheng Yuan suddenly reached for Lin Shaofeng’s broken arm. Lin Shaofeng flinched but didn’t dare to pull away. He could only close his eyes and resign himself to his fate.

’Even if Cheng Yuan is going to rip this arm off, I can’t say a word!’

Zhou Shilong, standing to the side, felt his eyelids twitch uncontrollably, his heart aching for his son.

’I only broke my son’s arm to save his life. Don’t tell me Third Martial Uncle still isn’t going to let Shaofeng go?’

Zhou Shilong didn’t dare to question him. With a pained expression, he turned his head away, unable to watch his son’s suffering.

To Lin Shaofeng’s surprise, Cheng Yuan wasn’t planning to torture him. Instead, he sent a stream of powerful Celestial Witch True Essence into his arm, setting the fractured bone.

”Open your mouth.”

Lin Shaofeng opened his mouth instinctively, and Cheng Yuan placed a Rejuvenation Pill inside.

BOOM!

An astonishing surge of Medicinal Power erupted, circulating through his bloodstream to the injured arm and knitting the broken bone together.

Lin Shaofeng felt a strange tingling sensation at the break. He was overcome with joy as he realized Cheng Yuan was healing him!

Lin Shaofeng carefully moved his arm and couldn’t stop the tears of joy from streaming down his face.

’I thought I’d be a cripple for the rest of my life, but Third Master actually set aside our conflict and healed me!’

THUD! THUD! THUD!

Lin Shaofeng kowtowed three times, his forehead striking the floor with resounding thuds.

If before Lin Shaofeng had feared Cheng Yuan’s power and background, now he was utterly and sincerely convinced of his superiority.

”Thank you for your immense kindness, Third Master! Shaofeng will never forget this for the rest of his life!”

Zhou Shilong whipped his head around to look at his son’s arm. Seeing it was no longer limp, he began to tremble with excitement and once again fell to his knees with a thud.

”Third Martial Uncle, your kindness is immense! This Little Dragon will never forget it! From now on, I am your dog! I’ll bite whoever you tell me to bite, no questions asked!”

Cheng Yuan helped Zhou Shilong and his son to their feet. ”Shilong, you’re overstating things,” he said calmly. ”We’re all family here. Shaofeng has received his punishment. You may both leave.”

”Yes, Third Martial Uncle!”

Chang Lanxin gave Cheng Yuan a long, searching look. ’A few years apart, and my junior is no longer the reckless brute he once was.’

’He’s learned the methods of a true superior, mastering the art of wielding both carrot and stick.’

After Zhou Shilong and his men left, the atmosphere in the bar became much more relaxed. The staff all looked at Cheng Yuan with expressions of pure admiration.

Sun Qiajuan, in particular, approached Cheng Yuan and bowed deeply.

”Thank you, Mr. Cheng, for standing up for me. Otherwise, today I’m afraid...”

Cheng Yuan gave a casual wave of his hand. ”It was nothing. Don’t worry about it.”

With that, he turned to the others. ”Everyone has been through a lot. Bring the injured over, and I’ll treat them.”

”Yes, sir!”

Soon, the injured security guards were brought over.

Cheng Yuan applied some simple treatments, and the guards’ conditions improved significantly. They would be fully recovered after just a few days of rest.

Cheng Yuan turned to bid farewell to Chang Lanxin. ”Senior Sister, I need to give Yingying a full check-up, so we’ll be leaving now. I’ll come back for a drink when I have time.”

Chang Lanxin didn’t want him to leave, but she didn’t try to stop him. ’I have no right, no standing, to ask him to stay,’ she thought.

”Take care, Junior.”

Duan Yingying affectionately linked her arm with Cheng Yuan’s as they walked out. ”Brother Yuan,” she said with a teasing smile, ”you’re quite popular! Your Senior Sister seems to like you!”

Cheng Yuan rolled his eyes. ”Yingying, don’t talk nonsense. This was basically the first time I’ve met Senior Sister Lanxin. How could she possibly like me? She’s probably just grateful, that’s all.”

”Hmph, fine, don’t believe me. But you should trust a woman’s intuition.”

Cheng Yuan just shrugged and said nothing.

’So what if Chang Lanxin really does like me?’

’I don’t even know her. I can’t just take every girl who likes me home, can I?’

’Some people are destined to be just passersby in one’s life.’

’I can offer them some help and support.’

’But anything else... it’s better to just forget it.’

As he stepped out of Lanxin Bar, Cheng Yuan paused. Zhou Shilong and his son, Lin Shaofeng, hadn’t left. They were waiting dutifully by the entrance.

Cheng Yuan asked, a bit surprised, ”Why are you still here?”

”Reporting to Third Martial Uncle, this disciple is here to escort the Young Mistress back to the White Palace to rest. If you would do us the honor, Third Martial Uncle, we hope you will also stay at the White Palace.”

Cheng Yuan nodded. ”Alright. I need to do a follow-up examination for Yingying anyway. Arrange two quiet, adjoining rooms for us.”

”Yes, Third Martial Uncle! Young Mistress, please, get in the car.”

Zhou Shilong respectfully ushered Cheng Yuan and Duan Yingying into the car. The motorcade departed, heading straight for the White Palace.

Chang Lanxin stood at the entrance of the bar, quietly watching the motorcade disappear into the distance, a sense of loss welling up inside her.

’He’s leaving,’ she thought. ’And with that, we’ll be worlds apart. This might be the last time I ever see him.’

’Some people are just destined to meet but not to be together.’

’Maybe in the next life.’

BEEP BEEP...

Chang Lanxin’s phone rang.

Liu Ruyan, having settled He Zhixuan down, was worried about Chang Lanxin and decided to call her.

Chang Lanxin answered. Liu Ruyan’s worried voice came through the phone, ”Lanxin, are you okay? Did Brother Long show up?”

Chang Lanxin’s voice was laced with melancholy. ”I’m fine. Brother Long just left.”

Liu Ruyan patted her chest in lingering fear. ”I’m so glad you’re okay! That scared me to death! It’s all that Cheng Yuan’s fault for dragging you into this! Why did he have to jump in and play the hero? Doesn’t he know who Young Master Lin is? How dare he hit him?”

Chang Lanxin’s tone turned serious. ”Ruyan, don’t talk about Cheng Yuan like that! Or we can’t be friends anymore.”

Liu Ruyan’s tone softened slightly. ”Alright, alright, I won’t talk about him. He must have met a miserable end, anyway. No point in getting angry at a dead man.”

”Ruyan, can you please not jinx him? He’s perfectly fine. He already left.”

Liu Ruyan burst out laughing. ”Hahaha, so that guy named Cheng got scared off by Brother Long? He was posturing so much earlier, I actually thought he wasn’t afraid of him! That’s hilarious!”

”Ruyan, Cheng Yuan didn’t...”

Liu Ruyan cut her off impatiently. ”Lanxin, stop defending that guy! He’ll never get my approval! I’m not going to let him get his hands on Zhixuan!”
