Chapter 487: Chapter 487: Little Silkworm Awakens

Liu Ruyan gave Chang Lanxin no chance to explain, hanging up the phone directly. In any case, she had already made up her mind.

’As long as I’m here, that dirtbag Cheng Yuan will never get his hands on a prize like Zhixuan.’

On the other end of the line, Chang Lanxin gently shook her head. ’Liu Ruyan, oh, Liu Ruyan, if you only knew Cheng Yuan’s true identity. I wonder if you’ll be kicking yourself with regret when you find out.’

...

The motorcade slowly drove into the White Palace.

Cheng Yuan found himself slightly stunned.

The White Palace was enormous and opulent, even more extravagant than his own Villa Number One.

Still, he wouldn’t trade Villa Number One for the White Palace.

That was because Villa Number One had a Mountain Protection Array, and its Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi was exceptionally rich—it was practically a Grotto Heaven Blessed Land!

If his family lived in Villa Number One for six months to a year, their bodies, tempered by the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi, would absolutely undergo a tremendous improvement.

Then, he could start guiding his family in their Cultivation.

Zhou Shilong arranged for the two most luxurious rooms to be given to Cheng Yuan and Duan Yingying, then stood respectfully by the door, awaiting their summons.

Duan Yingying was clearly familiar with the White Palace. She walked over to a massive European-style sofa, sat down, and extended her fair wrist.

”Brother Yuan, please do my follow-up exam.”

Cheng Yuan smiled but didn’t reach out. He had the Double Pupil and could perform a diagnosis using only Observation Examination.

A divine light flashed in Cheng Yuan’s eyes. His pupils contracted slightly, and a second pupil appeared in each eye!

The two sets of pupils focused, and his vision instantly pierced through her clothes and skin, revealing the condition of her body’s interior.

Cheng Yuan carefully examined Duan Yingying’s qi, blood, internal organs, and Fire of Life, finally giving a slight nod.

”Yingying, you’re recovering well. It’s clear your brother has found you many potent restorative herbs! But it’s a bit too much. A significant amount of Medicinal Power has built up inside you. It’s not a problem for now, but if it keeps accumulating, I’m afraid your body won’t be able to absorb any more nourishment. It could even backfire and make you weaker.”

Duan Yingying gave a wry smile. ”I also felt the tonics my father has been giving me were a bit much. What should I do, then? Stop taking them completely?”

Cheng Yuan shook his head gently. ”You still need to take them. Your Fire of Life is still somewhat faint, and your qi, blood, and internal organs are also weak. Without these supplements, you’ll feel exhausted and drowsy all the time. If this goes on, your body will break down.”

Duan Yingying pouted unhappily. ”So I can’t take them, but I can’t *not* take them either. What am I supposed to do?”

Cheng Yuan was about to suggest bloodletting when a weak voice suddenly echoed from deep within his mind. It was the Little Silkworm.

’Brother, I sense a familiar aura. If you let me return to Sister’s body, I can recover within a month.’

Cheng Yuan was overjoyed. The Little Silkworm had been dormant for days and had finally awakened!

However, Cheng Yuan rejected the Little Silkworm’s proposal without hesitation.

’Absolutely not! I will not harm Yingying again!’

The Little Silkworm quickly explained, ’Brother, Little Silkworm is your Lifebound Spirit Pet now, not a Gu Insect anymore! I won’t harm the host. In fact, I’ll even nourish the host to a certain degree. All Little Silkworm wants is the excess Medicinal Power in Sister’s body. I will not harm her in the slightest.’

Cheng Yuan’s mental tone softened. ’If that’s the case, then I can consider it.’

Cheng Yuan looked at Duan Yingying intently.

”Yingying, do you trust me?”

”Of course I trust you, Brother Yuan.”

With a thought, Cheng Yuan summoned the dormant Little Silkworm.

”Yingying, do you recognize this?”

Duan Yingying’s pupils constricted. ”Of course I do. I’d recognize it even if it were burned to ash! It’s the Gu Insect that was forced out of my body!”

”Yingying, if you trust me, I’m going to put the Little Silkworm back inside you.”

Duan Yingying’s expression changed. ”Brother Yuan, are you going to use me as a Tripod Furnace to raise a Gu Insect, too?”

Cheng Yuan smiled. ”Of course not! The Little Silkworm is my Lifebound Spirit Pet now, not a Gu Insect! It won’t drain your qi and blood. It will only help absorb the excess Medicinal Power! What’s more, it will periodically release its essence to nourish you in return. In one month, your body will be fully healed. Then, I’ll take the Little Silkworm back out. If you’re not comfortable with that, I can use bloodletting instead. We’d just have to draw a few milliliters of blood each day to get rid of the excess Medicinal Power.”

Bloodletting??

Duan Yingying shook her head frantically. ”I’m squeamish around blood. Let’s just go with the Little Silkworm.”

Cheng Yuan said gently, ”Yingying, close your eyes.”

Duan Yingying obediently closed her eyes.

As if performing a magic trick, Cheng Yuan produced a Silver Needle and swiftly pricked the tip of Duan Yingying’s finger. A bright red Blood Pearl instantly welled up.

Smelling the familiar scent of blood, the Little Silkworm instantly perked up. Its body flashed, and it pounced onto the Blood Pearl, sucking it into its belly with a quick SLURP!

The Little Silkworm seemed a bit more lively. It then twisted its body and burrowed into the small puncture on Duan Yingying’s finger.

Cheng Yuan couldn’t help but click his tongue in wonder. The Little Silkworm was actually quite large, about the size of a pinky finger. He had no idea how its chubby body managed to squeeze through such a tiny wound.

Through his Double Pupil Vision, Cheng Yuan watched as the Little Silkworm quickly made its way to Duan Yingying’s heart, where it settled down and fell into a quiet slumber.

With each breath the Little Silkworm took, a minuscule amount of Essence of Life was released.

Nourished by the Essence of Life, Duan Yingying’s Fire of Life grew stronger, and she immediately felt greatly invigorated!

”Brother Yuan, you were telling the truth! The Little Silkworm really is giving back!”

The corners of Cheng Yuan’s lips curved upward. ’The Little Silkworm is a Martial Emperor Level spirit pet now. Even a tiny bit of the Essence of Life it releases is an incredible blessing for Duan Yingying!’

’This month will be more than enough time to build an incredibly solid foundation for her!’

Cheng Yuan took out a Rejuvenation Pill and a Three Patterns Essence Enhancement Pill and handed them to Duan Yingying.

”Yingying, get some good rest. In one month, take these two Elixirs and focus all your energy on your Cultivation. Try to break through to the Martial King realm as soon as you can.”

”Thank you, Brother Yuan.”

Duan Yingying didn’t stand on ceremony. She accepted the two Elixirs and placed them in her pocket with extreme care, as if they were precious treasures.

Cheng Yuan took his leave, planning to return to his room to rest and conserve his strength for the big showdown with the Korean Acupuncture Saint Park Hao tomorrow.

Zhou Shilong had been waiting at the door for some time, holding a Small Jade Box in his hands.

Inside the Jade Box was a Magical Treasure he had cherished for several years!

This was Zhou Shilong’s gift of apology to Cheng Yuan—or perhaps a gift of thanks, seeing as Cheng Yuan had healed Lin Shaofeng’s severed arm.

”Third Martial Uncle, Shaofeng offended you, yet you held no grudge and healed his severed arm. For so many reasons, I must express my gratitude! Please, you must accept this small gift!”

Cheng Yuan looked at the Jade Box with interest. ’A gift from Zhou Shilong would be anything but small,’ he thought.

”Oh? What is it? Open it and let me see.”

Zhou Shilong didn’t open the Jade Box. Instead, he respectfully offered a pair of sunglasses.

”Third Martial Uncle, please put these on first. I’ll open the Jade Box after you do. This Magical Treasure is incredibly powerful; it can affect one’s mind.”

’A Magical Treasure?’

Now Cheng Yuan was even more interested.

Cheng Yuan didn’t take the sunglasses, saying confidently, ”Just open it. My mind won’t be affected.”
