Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1460: Chapter 1462: Unexpected Invitation

Unexpectedly, the call she answered turned out to be from a person she could never have imagined.

”May I ask, is this Student Chiang Xiao?”

On the other end of the phone was a slightly authoritative male voice.

Chiang Xiao was certain, she had never heard this voice before, it was very unfamiliar.

”Yes, who is this?”

”I am Kuang Kanzhi.”

Pfft.

Chiang Xiao suddenly remembered, Kuang Kanzhi, Yun Xian’s uncle, Qingqing’s father!

But no matter what, she couldn’t imagine what she would have to do with Kuang Kanzhi!

Even more unimaginable, that Kuang Kanzhi would call her!

Therefore, Chiang Xiao didn’t know what to say for a moment.

Kuang Kanzhi seemed to guess that she would be surprised and didn’t wait for her to respond, instead he continued: ”You know who I am, right? I want to ask Student Chiang Xiao, are you free tonight? If possible, I’d like to invite you for a simple meal and, by the way, there is something I’d like to discuss with you.”

Chiang Xiao really couldn’t think of anything she had in common to discuss with Kuang Kanzhi.

”I’m sorry, Mr. Kuang...”

”About Yun Xian, is that okay?” Kuang Kanzhi interrupted her.

”What happened to Brother Kuang?”

”His situation is rather complicated, it can’t be clearly expressed over the phone, but I heard that you are very good friends with him, right?”

Could Chiang Xiao say no?

She originally wanted to find Yun Xian first to ask what this was about, but now she didn’t know where Yun Xian was, nor how to find him.

At this moment, Chiang Xiao really missed the era of mobile phones.

”Student Chiang Xiao?” Kuang Kanzhi urged her.

It concerned Yun Xian...

Chiang Xiao thought that for Kuang Kanzhi to seek her out, Yun Xian must be facing some major issue.

Given Yun Xian’s relationship with her and Meng Xinian, it seemed wrong not to care. Moreover, she was curious about what Kuang Kanzhi wanted to say, so after thinking for a while, she agreed.

”Okay. I’m preparing to leave school now, where shall we meet?”

Kuang Kanzhi said, ”Come to my house, what do you think?”

”That’s not very convenient.” Chiang Xiao immediately declined.

She always felt that even if she were to go to the Kuang family’s house, it should be at Yun Xian’s invitation.

Since Yun Xian has never invited her to the Kuang Family’s house, there must be some inconvenience, and naturally, she did not want to go.

Kuang Kanzhi was silent for a moment, then said, ”Then let’s go to a restaurant.”

Then he provided the name and address of a restaurant.

Chiang Xiao responded affirmatively.

”At six-thirty, please be on time, Student Chiang Xiao.”

”I will be on time.” Chiang Xiao could tell that Kuang Kanzhi was very serious.

But being punctual is a good virtue, and she would be on time as well.

It was still early, and Chiang Xiao returned to the courtyard house, changed her clothes, took her small backpack, and left.

She roughly knew where the restaurant Kuang Kanzhi mentioned was located, and directly hailed a taxi to go there.

Upon arriving, seeing the impressive restaurant decor, she guessed the level of its spending before stepping in.

Her timing was almost perfect, arriving precisely at six-thirty.

Kuang Kanzhi was already there.

He was alone.

Kuang Kanzhi also looked very distinguished. One could see that he must have been a handsome man when he was young, and even now, in his fifties, he still looked very youthful, barely in his forties.

His hair was meticulously combed, and he wore a dress shirt and slacks with silver-rimmed glasses, bearing some semblance to Yun Xian.

However, while Yun Xian appeared gentle and refined, Kuang Kanzhi looked very stern.
