Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1452: Chapter 1454: Stirring the Pot

”Just doing some design work, filling out forms for people, stuff like preparing menus.”

Chiang Xiao immediately thought of those small shops scattered outside various institutions and schools, with big signs that advertised photocopying for two jiao, printing for five jiao, and the like.

Of course, she wouldn’t mock Xie Landi; after all, it wasn’t a bad idea to think of opening a shop like that these days.

Lee Mei was taken aback for a moment and said, ”Xie Landi, you’re better than me. I have no idea what I want to do in the future.”

While they were talking, Qin Xiaojun and Wang Lili came back, carrying a bag of apples.

”Chiang Xiao, you’re back? Oh, do you want an apple?”

”No thanks.”

Qin Xiaojun glanced at Chiang Xiao and asked, ”Did you know that you weren’t here yesterday when Aunt Qiu came up to mention something? Have Lee Mei and Xie Landi told you about it?”

Chiang Xiao shook her head.

Lee Mei slapped her forehead and said, ”I forgot about it. Let me tell you now, Aunt Qiu said that each dorm room has to elect a dorm leader. From now on, the dorm leader will be responsible for attendance, discipline, and cleanliness of the dorm. Also, there will be a point system every month, and dorms with scores below thirty will be criticized.”

”A dorm leader, huh? Let’s pick one then, I have no objections,” Chiang Xiao said, and then glanced at Wang Lili.

In her past life, Wang Lili was the dorm leader of their dormitory.

Among them, Wang Lili was the most calm and rational one. She was good friends with Qin Xiaojun, but their personalities were rather different; Qin Xiaojun was more warm and outgoing.

However, back then, she often wasn’t in the dorm because she sometimes had night shifts for part-time jobs, so she really wasn’t very clear on what happened in their dorm in her previous life.

Hearing her words, Qin Xiaojun said, ”We discussed it last night. Lili is the oldest among us here and she knows a lot, so we chose her as the dorm leader. Do you have any objections?”

As expected, it was still Wang Lili who became the dorm leader.

Chiang Xiao shook her head, ”No objections.”

It seemed that because she didn’t object, Qin Xiaojun’s impression of her improved. Qin Xiaojun, who had seen Chiang Xiao’s character in the cafeteria, thought she would fight for this position and wanted to stand out. Moreover, last night Ye Wanqing, with her soft and weak voice, indicated something along these lines.

Originally, they had almost decided last night with the five people present, none of whom opposed Wang Lili as the dorm leader. But then Ye Wanqing said, ”Chiang Xiao isn’t here, I don’t know if she would also want to be the dorm leader.”

So they decided to wait until Chiang Xiao came back before submitting Wang Lili’s name.

Qin Xiaojun was somewhat anxious, afraid that Chiang Xiao would object. She didn’t expect Chiang Xiao to be so easygoing, nothing like what Ye Wanqing had described.

”That’s good, then. From now on, let’s all try our best to listen to Lili, I heard that there are rewards for civilized dorms. Let’s strive to be the civilized dorm of the month every month!” Qin Xiaojun said excitedly.

Wang Lili spoke indifferently, ”It’s not about following my orders. We’re all schoolmates and roommates; we could only say it’s about maintaining the dorm’s cleanliness and discipline together.”

”Right, right, that’s what I meant,” said Qin Xiaojun, and then she turned to Chiang Xiao and said, ”Oh, Chiang Xiao, my birthday is at the end of this month, on the 27th. I’m inviting you all to my house for dinner, remember to keep that evening free.”

Chiang Xiao’s instinct was to decline, but considering that they were all roommates and had the bond of two lifetimes as roommates, she ought to participate in some group activities. It wasn’t necessary to keep everyone at arm’s length. So she nodded and said, ”Okay.”
