Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 689: Chapter 690: With This Temper

Moreover, she probably knew about the Meng Family’s situation. She was afraid that at this time, there were hardly any people in the Meng Family who could stand by his side! If the Meng Family could offer him even a sliver of warmth, would he have refrained from going home for several years?

Thinking of Meng Xinian, who was like a bully, Chiang Xiao’s heart ached bit by bit, and she suddenly felt his loneliness.

At this moment, she wanted to be by his side.

”I’ll find a way to take you on a plane!” Chu Liang blurted out.

He hadn’t yet used the authority given to him by the Chief Alliance Officer’s Wife, but now he also worried about Meng Xinian.

Capital City.

Hospital.

Old Meng sat on a bench outside the corridor, his face slightly ashen, one hand resting on his cane, the other rubbing his temple, watching his grandson stand opposite him, tall and straight.

It had been quite some time since he last saw him, and this grandson, whom he was very proud of, seemed to have grown taller, like an unbending poplar tree.

Even though two men by his side watched him with a tiger’s gaze, they didn’t seem to put any pressure on him.

These two men, one was Fong Jianye’s uncle, the other was his brother-in-law.

Since Fong Jianye had been rushed to the hospital last evening, he had been in resuscitation until late at night, and the doctor only said they had done their best and needed observation. If Fong Jianye could wake up, at least his life would no longer be in danger, but it was still unknown whether his intellect would be impaired.

That stick had directly split his head open with a gash.

After Gao Wei fetched people from the Gao Family and rushed to the alley, they found a shocking pool of blood on the ground. When they arrived at the hospital, Meng Xinian was just standing outside the emergency room and had not disappeared as Gao Wei had imagined.

Gao Wei testified that Fong Jianye was injured by Meng Xinian, and the Fong Family was enraged, ready to beat Meng Xinian on the spot, but the five of them failed to land a single punch on him. Instead, one by one, they were beaten by him, howling like ghosts and wolves.

This continued until Meng Donghai and his son Meng Chaojun received the news and rushed to the hospital.

Only then did Meng Xinian stop.

Father Fong was so angry that his entire body trembled.

”I indeed have gained insight. Our Jianye has been beaten and severely injured, lying in there, between life and death, and you, Meng Xinian, you’re so audacious! You even dared to lay hands on us!”

”Otherwise, what? Wait for you to beat me? Do you think I’m stupid?” Meng Xinian replied indifferently, ”I can deal with the five of you barehanded. Those two weaklings, Fong Jianye and Gao Wei, do I need a stick for them?”

Meng Donghai and his son Meng Chaojun couldn’t help grinding their teeth upon hearing this.

You cheeky brat!

The logic was sound, but couldn’t he use a different tone or attitude when speaking? Even their own people wanted to beat him after hearing such words, let alone the Fong Family.

But Meng Xinian had always been this temperamental. It was already good that he did not leave the hospital immediately after sending the injured to the emergency room.

In his view, it was Fong Jianye and Gao Wei who had provoked him, Fong Jianye who had struck first, and Gao Wei who had injured Fong Jianye. It was none of his business, so even staying to this extent was already beyond what was required of duty and decency.

He stayed because he knew Gao’s Father and Gao Wei’s character.

If he had left, who knew how the Gao Family would distort the truth.

So, Meng Xinian had deliberately stayed.

Otherwise, with the people from the Fong Family, who could have kept him there?

Father Fong sat on the other side, his face dark, and turned his gaze to Meng Chaojun.
