Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 677: Chapter 678: Remodeling a Bit

Lizi still looked the same as they did two days ago when they were first put in, with no change in color. When she picked one up to taste, she found that it was almost as hot as when it had just been put in!

Chiang Xiao’s eyes widened, and she almost wanted to scream.

Not only was the quality preserved, but the warmth too?!

Peeling open that chestnut to taste, she found the texture and flavor were exactly like those freshly roasted!

If that was the case, what was there to worry about with preservation?

However, if other people used the box with the Talisman Diagram to store other items, it would be easy for them to discover this heaven-defying effect.

It would likely not be the tea snacks that became famous, but her packaging boxes instead.

That kind of fame could be quite terrifying.

So, Chiang Xiao contained her excitement and thought of a solution, she directly used a type of sealing paper for the boxes, and drew Cease Talisman Diagrams on the paper, attaching it to the opening of the box.

That way, one had to tear off the Talisman Diagram to open the box. Once it was torn off, the Talisman Diagram would become ineffective, and no one would discover the secret of the Talisman Diagram, which also ensured the quality and preservation of the tea snacks.

When she had time, she would just draw more sealing papers for the boxes.

The tea snacks were intended for the high-end market, so they would not sell in huge quantities. If she drew during her free time, she should be able to cope.

Only, because of this, she would have to sell her tea snacks at a higher price than originally planned.

Chiang Xiao thought about it and decided to add a bit of Spirit Spring Water from Bamboo Hut to the water for making the tea snacks. Of course, she wouldn’t add much—no more than a small spoonful to a large tub of well water.

Even so, Ge Liutao and Chiang Songhai still found that the tea snacks made this time were more delicious than before, even surpassing those made by their master, Aunt Ah Yu.

This time they made two types: one with tea powder and the other with honey.

It was after listening to Chiang Xiao’s suggestion to try making them in three small pots.

After they were made, Ge Dejun and Liu Pei, two who had always said that these tea snacks were too expensive to indulge in, had a taste and threw such thoughts out the window. They, along with their daughters, tore into them like food had been scarce, polishing off all twelve pieces without leaving a single one for Chiang Xiao.

Chiang Songhai and Ge Liutao had only tasted half a piece each.

Chiang Xiao stood there, empty-handed and dumbstruck, unable to help but swallow a mouthful of saliva.

”Uh, Little has not eaten yet?” Ge Xiaotong finally swallowed a mouthful of the tea snack, and upon seeing Chiang Xiao’s wide-open eyes, snapped back to reality.

The family of four suddenly felt a bit embarrassed.

”It’s really too delicious; we truly couldn’t help ourselves...” Liu Pei’s face turned red.

Ge Dejun felt too ashamed to face Chiang Xiao and quickly darted off to the side, pretending to clean.

How shameful was it? A person of his age fighting over food with a young girl!

And such expensive stuff too!

Xu Linjiang wiped the corner of his mouth, barely stopping himself from licking his fingers.

He expressed his admiration, ”Auntie, it seems your and Uncle’s culinary skills have improved by leaps and bounds! Even I, who am not too fond of sweets, couldn’t control myself.”

In his view, such delicious pastries, selling for two to three coins each, were truly worth the price.

Chiang Songhai and Ge Liutao were both somewhat stupefied.

They had never imagined that their tea snacks could taste this good.

”Could it be because of the water?”

After considering the whole process of their production, Chiang Songhai came to such a conclusion. Chiang Xiao felt it would be better to be somewhat truthful, so she blinked and said, ”Indeed, it’s about the water, I added a little something.”

Everyone was used to her shocking or well-calculated remarks, so when they heard her say this, no one asked what she had put in.
