Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 678: Chapter 679: Have Confidence

Ge Dejun and the others felt it might be a secret recipe, so they didn’t feel it was appropriate to inquire further.

As for Chiang Songhai and Ge Liutao, they felt it was enough that Chiang Xiao knew about it.

So, they let her fudge the matter.

A couple of days later, Chu Liang sent over about a dozen boxes to her after hearing what Chiang Xiao said.

It was then that Chiang Xiao, together with her grandparents, made some more desserts. They produced four different kinds, two boxes of each, getting ready to send them to Meng Xinian.

She personally drew several Cease Talisman Diagrams and affixed one to the opening of each box.

The simplistic rectangular wooden boxes and the plain sealing paper with a black-and-white Talisman Diagram drawn on them made Ge Xiaotong exclaim at their uniqueness.

”Little, how much are you planning to sell a box of these desserts for?”

Ge Xiaotong had been watching her package the boxes, and knowing that each only contained four desserts, she realized from her own experience that such small pieces would indeed leave people wanting more.

These desserts were meant for Meng Xinian and Old Meng, but future packaging would be the same, so she had already calculated the pricing.

”Fifty Yuan for a box of the tea-flavored ones, and Thirty-Five Yuan for a box of the honey ones.”

These would be the prices for all her desserts in the future.

In an era where a bicycle only cost a bit more than a hundred, selling a box of four desserts for Thirty-Five or Fifty Yuan was sure to cause a stir.

Ge Xiaotong felt like she was about to have a breakdown.

”You’re not joking with me, are you?”

She held her stomach as if she’d seen a ghost, staring at Chiang Xiao.

Thirty-Five, Fifty?

Chiang Xiao was very calm, ”No joke, I really plan to set those two prices.”

Without the Cease Talisman Diagram and Spirit Spring Water, she might have sold them for Fifteen or Twenty Yuan a box, but with these two treasures added, she felt the desserts were definitely worth the price.

First, before opening the box, the desserts would maintain the taste and texture of being fresh-made; after all, isn’t the essence of eating about freshness?

Secondly, desserts made with Spiritual Spring Water tasted particularly good, and even though they were sweet, they wouldn’t cause weight gain, weren’t cloying, didn’t promote tooth decay, and even had a tiny health effect from the Spring Water. Where else in the world could you find such benefits?

She felt that selling them for less would be a disservice to the Spiritual Spring at Bamboo Hut.

”Oh my God,” Ge Xiaotong thought about how much her family had eaten before and felt a tightness in her chest.

”Little, if you sell them for so much, will there really be buyers?” Liu Pei and Ge Dejun were very concerned. They knew that Chiang Xiao had already spent a lot of money on having many packaging boxes made.

If the desserts didn’t sell, wouldn’t all the money spent on the boxes go to waste?

”They will sell,” said Chiang Xiao, full of confidence.

The way wealthy people spend money is something the poor can’t even imagine.

Especially since this time Meng Xinian planned to send the desserts to Capital City, and since she had already solved the freshness and quality preservation issue, she was even less worried.

Meng Xinian was very clever; he had already told her not to worry about sales, so she completely trusted him to deliver these few boxes of desserts effectively.

Liu Pei and the others were secretly taken aback.

After Chiang Xiao packaged and sent off the desserts, she didn’t dwell on it. Aside from attending school, she spent her days pondering, researching, and translating the booklet, while also thinking about ways to make money.

During this time, she also took a trip to the county town one weekend. Uncle Lee’s family’s guesthouse had been handed over to relatives, and the whole family had moved to the provincial city.
