Extraordinary Realm from Persuasion System

However, this was different. [Sword Qi and Blade Intent] consumed a great deal of Essence, Qi, and Spirit and was even more subtle. It also required infusing the Postnatal Five Qi into the weapon during swings. Although it was somewhat troublesome, the advantage was that he now had a clear path to follow.

Zhang Beixing took up his blade and started practicing non-stop.

He began his martial arts training. Inevitably, he drew the attention of others. People wanted to see what kind of cultivation techniques the world’s only Hidden Essence realm Martial Artist practiced daily. And then, they were baffled!

Because Zhang Beixing’s current movements were quite simple—he was just swinging a wooden blade constantly through the air in front of him!

”Huh??”

”What is President Zhang doing? Why is he hacking at thin air?”

”And his swinging…how should I put it? It’s incredibly monotonous and utterly lacking in any discernible pattern—what’s going on here?”

”Don’t know. Could it be that President Zhang has developed some new moves?”

”It’s highly possible. After all, President Zhang is a genius. He has blazed a new trail in martial arts without any foundation from predecessors. It wouldn’t be surprising if he had come up with new techniques!”

”But this technique looks so…ordinary. It’s just a simple swing of the blade. This... this can’t even be considered the most basic blade technique, right?”

”Hold your tongue! Don’t talk nonsense. What kind of person is President Zhang? How could the blade technique he practices be ordinary, let alone inferior to a basic one? There must be a profound understanding of the Martial Path embedded within it!”

”You’re right! I remember there’s a saying in Great Xia, ’Return to original purity and simplicity; the Great Dao is exceedingly simple.’ President Zhang might have reached this realm, or even gone beyond it, which is why his blade work appears so ordinary!”

”Yes, yes, yes! I remember there’s a swordsmanship in Great Xia called Du Gu Nine Swords. It involves practicing the most basic techniques to the extreme, thereby creating top-tier swordsmanship capable of countering all sorts of moves and weapons. Perhaps President Zhang is now aiming to create such a top-tier blade technique!”

”You know, now that you mention it, looking closely at President Zhang’s swings, it really does feel different. At first glance, it seems disorderly, full of openings, and utterly monotonous. But upon closer inspection, one finds it impenetrable. Each strike seems capable of dominating an opponent. HISS! Truly worthy of President Zhang, to conceal such profound subtleties within such simple blade work!”

”Exactly! It’s just a pity that my aptitude is too poor. I can’t even understand it, let alone learn it. What a great pity!”

The crowd buzzed with discussion. As they talked, their initial bewilderment mixed with awe transformed into outright admiration and reverence.

It was fortunate that Zhang Beixing was far from them and wholly engrossed in his blade training, accumulating experience points. Otherwise, if he heard what these people were saying, he would probably be speechless.

He was just randomly swinging his blade to earn the system’s experience points. Yet, in their words, my goodness, they were praising it to the high heavens!

Ignoring the chatter of the people, Zhang Beixing practiced from the afternoon until evening.

And thanks to his tireless training, his [Sword Qi and Blade Intent] progress had advanced from the initial 0/100,000 to the current 3,327/100,000.

The overall progress was three percent complete.

At this rate, it would take roughly a month to max out the experience.

”Have I forgotten something?” Zhang Beixing muttered to himself. He kept feeling that amidst all his recent activities, he had overlooked something very important to him.

He thought hard about it but couldn’t come up with anything, so he simply pushed the matter to the back of his mind.

Unbeknownst to him, at this very moment…

「At Shi University.」

Zhang Beixing’s instructor gazed at the phone, deep in thought. For a moment, he was truly at a loss as to how he should approach this formidable individual—who had just carved a path of slaughter through Ancient Rome and single-handedly suppressed an entire city—to ask him to return and prepare his graduation thesis. Because this was, to put it mildly, freaking incongruous and utterly absurd!
