Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 42: Chapter 36: Peach Blossom Calamity

Lawrence Winters elegantly used a knife and fork to take a piece of freshly peeled lobster meat, didn’t dip it in any sauce, and directly put it into his mouth to slowly chew.

It’s often said that lobster meat has no taste, so domestic chefs generally like to use broth to simmer big lobsters to make them flavorful.

In fact, premium lobster material isn’t tasteless; the flesh itself carries a refreshing aroma. Just steaming it can achieve supreme deliciousness.

Benjamin Winchester found her words amusing, and her enjoyment made him feel even hungrier.

Todaί he had been socializing and hadn’t eaten much. Now, seeing the table full of dishes, he couldn’t hold it anymore.

Especially when Lawrence Winters ate, she licked her finger, slightly raised her eyelid, glanced in his direction with an extremely satisfied demeanor.

Benjamin Winchester’s stomach immediately growled.

He quickly picked up his chopsticks, smiling at everyone at the table, ”Since it’s the New Year’s Eve dinner, everyone should eat! Eat up!”

With that, he was the first to grab the chopsticks and reached for the blue and white porcelain basin filled with poached tiger prawns.

Picked up several big prawns and gobbled them down.

Then he had several pieces of honey tiger-skin pork, and then turned his chopsticks towards the mountain of caramel-colored Dongpo pork, with a swipe he grabbed a big piece of juicy wobbling braised pork shank, covered with a layer of thoroughly cooked pig skin rich in animal collagen.

Within a few minutes, Benjamin Winchester tasted nearly all the dishes on the table, setting down his chopsticks satisfied, picked up Maotai liquor, stood up to pour drinks for the elders at the table.

Nick Zeller covered the wine glass with his hand, smiling, ”I’d like some corn juice, you can have the Maotai, young Martin will drive you later, and Gabrielle’s alcohol tolerance is limited; she shouldn’t drink any more.”

Martin Saunders and Lucy Winters nodded repeatedly, not daring to say a word, fearing they might say something wrong, messing up Nick Zeller and Lawrence Winters’ plan.

Benjamin Winchester saw that Martin Saunders and Lucy Winters were indeed blushing, Nick Zeller openly said he didn’t want to drink, so he dared not insist.

Gabrielle Winters didn’t even look at him; he certainly didn’t want to approach with a cold face.

So he picked up the bottle of corn juice and poured a glass for Nick Zeller before returning to his seat.

This time, he ate slower, trying to chat a bit with Lawrence Winters and the daughter of the Sun family.

Miss Sun was still as timid as before, a sixteen to seventeen-year-old girl who knew nothing, and Benjamin Winchester looked down on her at heart.

But now she was his ”fiancée”, he had to coax and humor her.

Talking to Lawrence Winters was much more interesting.

Unfortunately, Lawrence Winters was now as concise as gold, seemingly more interested in food.

Watching Lawrence Winters start eating the second steamed lobster, Benjamin Winchester tentatively continued the conversation, ”Cousin, what did you mean just now, talking about my fortune?”

”Want to know?” Lawrence Winters skillfully peeled the crystalline and white lobster meat, not even looking at him, lowered her eyes and said, ”You know, you actually have a pretty sad story.”

”Growing up without a mother, I suppose the relationship with your stepmother wasn’t good either, so you didn’t continue education after junior high school.”

”You went to work in the Southern Region alone, lacking education, not having much strength, the jobs were dirty and exhausting, and you couldn’t earn much.”

”You look decent, so you tried to make some quick money at certain places.”

”But after trying for a while, you found it impossible; you couldn’t get over the psychological hurdle and couldn’t do that job.”

”When you were nearly desperate, luck came to you, and someone partnered with you in ’business’.”

While saying ”business”, Lawrence Winters looked at Benjamin Winchester with profound meaning.

He was stunned, his mouth open, eyes wide, showing whites around his black pupils - a classic sign of shock.

”H-how do you know?!” He was momentarily panicked, thinking his secrets were discovered by this family, he instinctively wanted to flee.

Right at that moment, Lawrence Winters turned her head, giving him a slight smile, ”Of course, it’s through facial reading. I also know, recently your luck is great, financial fortune is shining, and if you’re braver, you might make a load of money with your business this time, enough to wash your hands of it.”

”Really?!” Benjamin Winchester only felt his heart, which nearly jumped out, return to its place.

His heart was pumping blood vigorously into his vessels, he felt an uncontrollable urge.

Martin Saunders, Lucy Winters, and Miss Sun were also stunned, they glanced at each other.

They knew nothing about it, and today was the first time Lawrence met him, yet she was remarkably clear.

If it were just bluffing, that’d be one thing, but Benjamin himself confirmed it was true!

That was incredibly impressive!

Miss Sun looked at Lawrence, nearly ready to bow in admiration.

Benjamin Winchester was even more excited, stretching out his hand, wanting to grab Lawrence Winters’ arm.

Lawrence gently raised her arm, reaching for a plate of cold pig head meat on the table, just avoiding his hand.

She moved so naturally that Benjamin didn’t feel it was deliberate, but nervously said, ”Cousin... Heavenly Master Lawrence, did you really see it?”

Lawrence placed the cold pig head meat in front of herself, curled her lips into a smile, ”What do you think? I ask you, have you been planning to increase your investment lately?”

Indeed, recently Benjamin had a few women like ’Miss Sun’ lined up, planning to ask them for some money.

Thinking this way, it matched perfectly.

He nodded vigorously, ”Heavenly Master Lawrence is truly incredible! Recently there are indeed a few highly profitable ventures, originally I was hesitant, now with Heavenly Master’s Iron Mouth God Calculation...”

Lawrence’s hand suddenly lightly pressed on his arm, ”Mr. Winchester, the phrase Iron Mouth God Calculation shouldn’t be thrown around casually. - Saying it means causality between us, you know, we as Heavenly Masters, can’t work for free.”

”If you make us work for free, your good fortune will drift away...”

Benjamin Winchester’s eyes twinkled, understanding Lawrence Winters’ meaning.

He thought, Nick Zeller was well-known in River City, if he could do him a favor, reading the eight characters of marriage fate, and directly marrying a wealthier lady, why would he need to continue deceiving outside?

He also wanted to quit and go legit; he was already thirty-one!

He couldn’t keep on tricking people forever.

Benjamin thought, taking out his phone, tentatively asked: ”Cousin, we are all relatives. If I ask you to help me see if this business is feasible, can I get a discount?”

”Hehe, if you wish your future luck to also be discounted, I can give you 20% off.” Lawrence’s lip curved higher, her slightly rounded peach-like face looking cuter.

”Oh, no, no need.” Benjamin hurriedly waved, gritting his teeth, said: ”If you can say what type of business I’m looking at, I’ll... I’ll pay you!”

Lawrence closed her eyes briefly, took another bite of lobster meat from her hand, leaned back to grab a napkin to wipe her hands, shifted her posture in the seat, her voice suddenly turned cold: ”... Is it not obvious what business?”

”Though there’s red between your eyebrows, it’s a pink shade, indicating a peach blossom doom.”

”Business related to peach blossom, but a few kinds. - If not women, then young ladies, do I need to spell it out?”

Lawrence slapped the table, her voice sharp and unparalleled: ”Your car, though just a BJ Jeep, you insist on modifying it into a Mercedes-Benz G-Class. Isn’t it to package yourself, seizing chances to enter elite circles?!”
