Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 22: Chapter 17: Heaven’s Favored Daughter and Son

Nick Zeller laughed for a while before picking up the ”little secretary’s” phone to send a message to Mrs. Newman: [Madam, the Great Heavenly Master Nick has some questions to confirm. May I ask if you have time to contact him directly?].

Mrs. Newman was anxiously waiting for the results and replied immediately: [No problem. Is the Great Heavenly Master’s phone number XXXXXXXXXX?].

The ”little secretary” replied: [That’s right, feel free to contact him. You can call or send a WeChat message].

Mrs. Newman thought for a moment and decided to call directly.

Nick Zeller saw that the other phone was ringing and leisurely picked it up, asking in a relaxed manner, ”Hello, are you the one who sent me the birth data for the couple?”

Mrs. Newman hurriedly said, ”Yes, yes, it was me. I sent it to your secretary. Your secretary mentioned you had some questions to confirm. Is there something wrong?”

”No, no.” Nick Zeller laughed heartily, ”I just need to confirm, where did you get these two birth data from?”

”...What’s wrong? Could there be a mistake?” Mrs. Newman griped her phone in displeasure, ”This is my daughter’s birth data, my biological daughter. How could I not know her birth data?”

”That’s not necessarily true.” Nick Zeller chuckled, ”Ensuring the birth data is accurate is not a simple task. It’s not just about the date of birth; it’s best to have the precise time, down to the second if possible. If not, the minute would be fine, and at the very least, the hour should be exact.”

”The date and time of birth serve as the four pillars supporting a person in the world, commonly known as the ’Four Pillars.’”

”Each point in time within a pillar corresponds to a heavenly stem and an earthly branch, so there are two characters for each pillar, making eight characters in total, which we refer to as the eight characters.”

”You’re familiar with the heavenly stems and earthly branches, right?”

Mrs. Newman: ”...”

She truly didn’t remember what the heavenly stems and earthly branches were.

Nick Zeller introduced professionally, ”The ten heavenly stems are the familiar Jia, Yi, Bing, Ding, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren, Gui.”

”The twelve earthly branches are even more familiar, commonly known as Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu, Hai.”

”The eight characters use these ten heavenly stems and twelve earthly branches to organize and combine the four pillars.”

”There are so many people in the world, and there are people being born every second, yet no one has the exact same fate as someone else.”

”Why is that? Because their eight characters differ.”

”In addition to matching eight characters, I add another factor: geographical influence, meaning the birthplace.”

Mrs. Newman was dizzy from Nick Zeller’s barrage of professional terms and tricks, with only one word in her mind: impressive.

She quickly responded, ”My daughter’s birth data is such-and-such year, month, day, hour, and minute, and she was born at the local city hospital. Do you also need the room number?”

Nick Zeller noted it down carefully, also recording Mrs. Newman’s daughter’s birthplace, and said seriously, ”If you want a more precise eight-character match, I can measure the latitude and longitude of your daughter’s birthplace.”

”...What? Does it need to be that precise?” Mrs. Newman’s mouth hung open in surprise.

”Of course, not now. You just want to see if the two are compatible for dating, right? It’s not like they’re getting married?” Nick Zeller probed.

Mrs. Newman quickly shook her head, ”Of course, not getting married. Just want to see if they are fated to date.”

”Oh.” Nick Zeller placed Sarah Newman’s eight characters aside and began asking about Kenneth Osborne’s eight characters, ”So where did you get the man’s eight characters?”

”The introducer gave them... I’ve heard they got it from the man’s mom. What’s the issue? Are they not suitable for our girl?” Mrs. Newman’s heart was in her throat.

”That’s not it.” Nick Zeller confirmed it was directly from Kenneth’s mother and then secretly chuckled, ”Madam, let me tell you, your daughter and this man are a perfect match!”

”Ah?! Really?!” Mrs. Newman’s eyes lit up, completely surprised and delighted.

She had initially taken a liking to Kenneth Osborne, but his family’s reluctance for him to study abroad had cooled her off. Yet the eight-character compatibility was so favorable.

Nick Zeller nodded affirmatively, ”Their zodiac signs are compatible; he is a sheep, and she is a rooster.”

”Let me give you four phrases: ’The man is wood, the woman is water—a prosperous couple. A lifetime of smooth sailing like a pine tree. If fated, they will meet across a thousand miles; if not meant to be, they won’t meet face-to-face.’

Mrs. Newman laughed so hard at the first two lines that she was practically nodding and bowing to the phone, ”As expected of the Great Heavenly Master! Is it really that good?!”

But after hearing the last two lines, she was puzzled, ”... What does it mean if they are fated, they will meet across a thousand miles; if not, they won’t meet face-to-face?— They’re about to watch a movie together?”

How could they not be fated?

Nick Zeller laughed, typing loudly on the keyboard, and continued, ”These two eight characters are excellent, and they can even complement each other. However, there is one downside.”

”... What downside?!” Mrs. Newman’s heart finally leapt into her throat.

”Aren’t their signs compatible, and their eight characters matched? What else could be wrong?”

Mrs. Newman asked questions like a barrage of bullets, with a slightly aggressive tone.

Nick Zeller sighed, ”Madam, I won’t hide it from you; I never just highlight the good things when matching eight characters for people.”

”I don’t know who you are, and there’s no need for me to intentionally discourage you. I’m just saying what I see in the eight characters.”

Mrs. Newman took a deep breath, her eyes darting around anxiously, ”Go ahead, tell me everything, good or bad.”

”Of course. You paid fifty thousand. If I only report the good news and not the bad, that would be ripping you off and ruining my reputation.” Nick Zeller said righteously.

Mrs. Newman was so scared that she was trembling, cautiously sitting down on the sofa, her voice shaking, ”... Please, go ahead!”

”Here’s how it is. Your daughter and this man together will have smooth sailing and no major setbacks in life.”

”But their already good fortune will combine to form a ’nest of blessings.’

He coughed, then said, ”’A nest of blessings’ will absorb the fortune of those around them.”

”So if they are together, your and your family’s fortunes will be greatly hindered.”

”If you are government employees, it’s not so bad; at most, you won’t get promoted.”

”If you work for someone else, you’d better prepare in advance.”

”If you run your own business, I advise you to reconsider. These two together would not be a strong union; instead, they would create chaos in your family business.”

Mrs. Newman opened her mouth wide, unable to comprehend for a long time.

”Nick... Great Heavenly Master, I don’t understand. With their good fortune, why would they affect others negatively? Shouldn’t they bring good luck to others?” Mrs. Newman asked, puzzled.

Nick Zeller chuckled, spinning a pen in his hand and turning on the speakerphone, saying in a deep voice, ”Heavenly principles dictate that excess is taken and insufficiency filled.”

”Those who bring good fortune to others use their own to complement others’ lack.”

”Similarly, there are those who absorb others’ fortunes. They fill their own gaps by using others’ fortunes.”

”Otherwise, how could there be such a thing as smooth sailing throughout life?”

”They’re not directly related to Heaven; where would their smooth sailing come from?”

”I’ve said my piece; it’s up to you to think it over.”
