Who Let Him Play Yugioh? (Re-Upload)

Only now did the Wicked God truly grasp the situation.

Indeed, his back row was for reviving himself with the Continuous Trap ’Call of the Haunted.’ Normally, you’d wait to use it when the opponent attacks, since you have more options during the Main Phase. Activating it too early could give your opponent more room to operate.

And if the opponent tries to clear your back row with a destruction effect, there’s nothing to fear.

If Jaden immediately used ’Heavy Storm’ to destroy the back row, the Wicked God could simply chain ’Call of the Haunted.’

Yes, Call of the Haunted is a Continuous Trap. Normally, even if it’s destroyed after activation, the revived monster is also destroyed—so it’s meaningless for ordinary monsters.

But that’s only for normal monsters. What he’s reviving isn’t normal—it’s a God. Once Wicked God is successfully summoned, it’s no longer affected by Trap effects. So even if Call of the Haunted is destroyed, it won’t self-destruct.

But Cosmo Neos’s arrival changed everything. From the moment it hit the field, the entire field was sealed. It was like entering a forbidden domain—no effects could be activated.

Total silence!

And he realized instantly, this was a ”player effect.” ”Your opponent cannot activate any effects on the field”—this targets the player, meaning the player can’t activate any card effects. Whether God or a monster with absolute immunity, none could escape.

The Wicked God muttered, ”What a troublesome monster…”

Jaden declared, ”Next, I activate the Field Spell ’Neo Space’!

All my Neo monsters gain 500 ATK!”

[Elemental HERO Cosmo Neos, ATK 3500 → 4000]

”Battle!” Jaden shouted. ”Cosmo Neos, attack ’The Supreme Sun’!”

A rainbow of light gathered in Cosmo Neos’s hand as he raised it overhead, swirling into a vortex. The energy concentrated to the limit, then, with a mighty swing, a torrent of light blasted forward, shattering the Supreme Sun.

[Eraser, LP 4000 → 3000]

”My turn’s over,” Jaden said. ”Since ’Neo Space’ is on the field, Cosmo Neos doesn’t return to the deck at the end phase.”

”…My turn. Draw.”

The Wicked God grumbled.

”During this turn’s Standby Phase, the effect of ’The Supreme Sun’ in my graveyard activates… The Sun is immortal!

Return to the field, Sun!”

Pitch-black flames erupted from the ground, surging skyward like a black sun rising. The dark sun transformed into a giant, its armor blazing with dark flames.

[The Supreme Sun, ATK 3000]

”The Sun is immortal,” the Wicked God muttered. ”And so is this one.

During my Standby Phase, if I have no Spells or Traps in my back row, I can Special Summon this card from my graveyard again.

Special Summon ’Treeborn Frog’!”

[Treeborn Frog, DEF 100]

”I activate the Spell Card ’Card of Burial Magic.’ By banishing three Spell Cards from my graveyard, I can draw two cards from my deck.

I banish ’Grave Goods of the Sacrifice,’ ’Pot of Greed,’ and ’Ebon Sun’ from my graveyard, and draw two cards!”

”Quick-Play Spell ’Serial Spell’ Discard all cards in my hand to copy the effect of a Spell Card just activated,” the Wicked God declared. ”I copy ’Card of Burial Magic’ and draw two more cards for free!”

He drew two more cards.

”You might think your counterattack was impressive, that you got the best of me,” the Wicked God said coldly.

”No, your struggle only enraged me, and you’ll soon regret making me angry!

I activate the Spell Card ’Monster Reincarnation,’ discarding a card to retrieve a monster from my graveyard.

Of course, I’m bringing back myself—The Wicked Eraser!”

He discarded a card to return himself from the graveyard.

”And now, I’ll give you this—!”

He drew a card from his hand and shouted,

”Special Summon ’Grinder Golem’ to your field in Defense Position!”

A silver iron giant appeared on Jaden’s field, Grinder Golem clad in steel armor, covered in sharp claws and steel saws.

[Grinder Golem, DEF 300]

Jaden’s heart tightened. Both Yubel and Kira favored this monster, and naturally, Jaden recognized it. He knew it was a powerful monster with many uses—though usually, it appeared on the opponent’s field.

If this were the real card, you couldn’t Normal Summon the turn you summoned Grinder Golem. But the anime doesn’t have that restriction, making it less risky and more useful.

”By Special Summoning Grinder Golem to your field, I can Special Summon two ’Grinder Token’ to my own field in Attack Position.”

[Grinder Token, ATK 0] x2

Jaden: ”He’s got enough tributes again, and hasn’t even used his Normal Summon…”

”Exactly!” The Wicked God threw back his head and laughed.

”I tribute two Grinder Token and Treeborn Frog—three monsters in total! Once again, let this world be reduced to utter nothingness—

—The Wicked Eraser, appear!!!”

Endless darkness gathered, once again forming the evil image. As if made of infinite darkness and void, the demon’s body surged like a tide, consuming light, consuming hope.

[The Wicked Eraser, ATK ?]

”Eraser’s ATK becomes 1000 times the number of cards on your field,” the Wicked God said. ”You have Neo Space, Cosmo Neos, and Grinder Golem, so ATK becomes 3000!”

[The Wicked Eraser, ATK ? → 3000]

Jaden said, ”Its ATK still isn’t as high as Cosmo Neos’s.”

Yubel said, ”But that god has a terrifying ability to annihilate everything. If he goes for a suicide attack, everything on the field will be wiped out, and his Supreme Sun will revive next turn…”

”Heh, but I don’t need to go that far,” the Wicked God sneered. ”I told you, you’ll regret angering me. Now, witness the evolution beyond gods!

I activate the Spell Card ’Divine Evolution’!

Let The Wicked Eraser ascend to the next rank!”

Jaden & Yubel: ”What!?”

This was completely outside their knowledge.

What? Gods can ascend ranks?

A terrifying energy, as if to swallow the entire universe into a black hole, enveloped The Wicked Eraser in utter darkness. The Wicked God’s body broke apart into countless shimmering particles, swirling in the dark, like stars dancing in the cosmic sea. As they spun, they reformed into a terrifying vortex!

Space itself was torn apart; dark light shone through the layers of darkness, reconstituting the Wicked God’s form—now even more massive and imposing. Razor-sharp claws left dark scars in the air; his long tail shook the earth.

The Wicked Eraser, evolved!
