Who Let Him Play Yugioh? (Re-Upload)

”I activate the Trap Card ’NEXT’ from my hand!”

Jaden slid a card from his hand into his Duel Disk. Instantly, a Trap Card materialized in his spell/trap zone, rippling with golden light.

The Wicked God sneered, ”Activating a Trap Card from your hand?”

”That’s right,” Jaden replied. ”The Trap Card ’NEXT’ can be activated from your hand if you have no cards on your field.

I can special summon any number of ’Neo-Spacians’ and ’Elemental HERO Neos’ from my hand or graveyard in Defense Position!”

Several cards shot out from Jaden’s graveyard at once. Jaden quickly gathered them, displaying them to his opponent.

”These are ’Elemental HERO Neos’ sent to the graveyard last turn by ’Elemental HERO Liquid Soldier,’ ’Neo-Spacian Grand Mole’ and ’Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin’ discarded by the Spell Card ’Convert Contact’ just now, and ’Neo-Spacian Air Hummingbird’ discarded by ’Graceful Charity.’

That’s four cards in total, all Special Summoned to the field!”

Jaden slammed down all four monsters onto his Duel Disk. Four monster zones lit up at once, each pillar of light in a different color, coalescing into the forms of cosmic heroes.

[Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin, DEF 800]

[Neo-Spacian Air Hummingbird, DEF 600]

[Neo-Spacian Grand Mole, DEF 300]

[Elemental HERO Neos, DEF 2000]

The Wicked God’s expression changed slightly. ”Just one card, and you summoned four monsters?”

Jaden added, ”However, the monsters summoned by ’NEXT’ have their effects negated.”

The Wicked God scoffed, ”Even if there are many of them, they’re in Defense Position and can’t attack. And with their effects negated, they’re no threat at all.” He let out a cold laugh. ”Not a single one can oppose my Supreme Sun. At most, they’ll stall for a moment as walls—heh.”

He laughed sinisterly, but in his heart, he thought: Walls, no matter how many, mean nothing before the Eraser. Even four monsters could be wiped out in a single effect.

Jaden declared, ”Next, I activate the Spell Card ’Space Gift’

If I control a ’Neo-Spacian’ monster, I can draw a number of cards from my deck equal to the number of ’Neo-Spacians’ I control!”

The Wicked God was finally a little surprised. ”What!?”

”I have three ’Neo-Spacians’ on my field,” Jaden said. ”So I draw three cards!”

Air Hummingbird raised its head and called out, ”Jaden! Take our power!”

With that, its wings flapped. Energy waves radiated from the Hummingbird, Mole, and Dolphin, surging into the top of Jaden’s deck. The top three cards seemed to be released, leaping into Jaden’s hand.

After drawing, Jaden paused for a moment, then slowly looked up at the Wicked God.

”I don’t know you,” Jaden said quietly.

”To be honest, I’ve never really had great ambitions like saving the world or bringing smiles to people through dueling. Most of the time, I duel for myself, just for fun.

But today is different.”

His tone changed.

Anyone familiar with Jaden at Duel Academia would have been shocked. Even those who’d spent three years with him would have trouble believing such a somber, unfamiliar voice came from Jaden.

”Only today, only against you… you’re an opponent I must defeat, no matter what.”

”If I don’t, then if I ever get the chance to see that person again after I die… I’ll have no face to meet them with.”

Even Yubel couldn’t help but speak up. ”Jaden…”

Even she found Jaden a little unfamiliar at this moment.

The red-clad back was tinged with sadness, loneliness, and a rare flash of anger for this usually optimistic boy.

Opposite, the Wicked God noticed that Jaden’s eyes had somehow turned golden—sharp, penetrating, and impossible to look at directly.

”I return ’Elemental HERO Neos,’ ’Neo-Spacian Grand Mole,’ ’Neo-Spacian Air Hummingbird,’ and ’Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin’ from the field to the Deck!

Quadruple Contact Fusion!”

Yubel: ”!”

Wicked God: ”!”

Quadruple Contact!?

It wasn’t just the Wicked God—Yubel, too, was stunned. Did Jaden have such a monster before? She’d reviewed Jaden’s deck since her return, but she didn’t recall anything like this.

”The Fusion requirements: ’Elemental HERO Neos’ plus three ’Neo-Spacian’ monsters, each with a different Attribute!”

Jaden raised his arm high.

Neos seemed to raise its arm with him. The three Neo-Spacians beside him turned into blue, gold, and red lights, merging into Neos. Bathed in the radiance of three colors, Neos’s body expanded rapidly.

”Mysterious light, summon the miracle of the cosmos—

—Elemental HERO Cosmo Neos, appear!!!”

[Elemental HERO Cosmo Neos, ATK 3500]

A brand-new Neos, a new power born as Jaden grew, an evolved form alongside its master.

The humanoid Wicked God narrowed his eyes slightly.

”So you’ve summoned another dangerous thing with that power…”

Jaden revealed another card in his hand. ”I activate the Spell Card ’Heavy Storm.’

Destroy all Spell and Trap Cards on the field!”

He pointed at the Wicked God’s back row.

”All your Continuous Spells and set cards—destroyed!”

The Wicked God only sneered.

”Only now do you care about my back row? Too late!

I activate my set card, Continuous Trap—Call of the Haunted!”

He burst out laughing.

”Revive a monster from the graveyard in Attack Position. Of course, I’m reviving myself—

—The Wicked Eraser!

No matter how powerful your monster is, I’ll destroy it!”

But after laughing a few more times, he suddenly realized something was wrong.

Wait…

The Trap didn’t activate.

The Wicked God’s pupils contracted.

”NANI!?”

”I guessed that was the Trap to revive your Eraser, and I knew you wouldn’t use it before I attacked,” Jaden said. ”But the moment ’Elemental HERO Cosmo Neos’ was summoned, you lost your chance.

Cosmo Neos’s effect!

When this card is successfully summoned, your opponent cannot activate any card effects on the field for the rest of the turn!

And they can’t chain any Spell, Trap, or Monster effects to this effect!”

Wicked God: ”!”
