Darklord Tezcatlipoca, Summoned!

[Darklord Tezcatlipoca | ATK 2800]

”The field was just wiped, but he immediately summons another powerful lineup…” Marik muttered. ”As expected, this opponent is no pushover.”

”You’re surprised? It’s still too early for that,” the Evil God said coldly, raising his puppet’s arm. ”Now, I activate Tezcatlipoca’s effect!

Pay 1000 Life Points to target a ’Darklord’ Spell or Trap in my graveyard, and use its effect directly!”

This was a fearsome ability—one shared by many high-level Darklords. ”Using a Spell/Trap from the graveyard” meant they could bypass costs and activation conditions, gaining the full effect just as if it had been activated, similar to Destiny HERO—Diamond Dude.

Moreover, Darklord effects could be activated during either player’s turn—a Quick Effect. This meant even Normal Spells could become fast, usable in the Battle Phase or during the opponent’s turn.

”I’ll use the effect of the Trap Card ’Darklord Uprising’ in my graveyard,” the Evil God said. ”Normally, it requires sending a ’Darklord’ from hand or field to the grave as cost.

But since I’m using Tezcatlipoca’s effect, I can activate it directly, with no cost.”

As he spoke, the Trap Card ’Darklord Uprising’ spun from his graveyard, appearing before him.

”By sending fusion materials from hand or field to the grave, I can Fusion Summon a DARK Fusion Monster!

I fuse ’Darklord Ukoback’ and ’Darklord Superbia’ from the field, and ’Darklord Morningstar’ from my hand—three Darklords unite!”

All three were pulled into a swirling vortex. Endless darkness gathered, transforming into a mighty black thunderbolt that crashed down onto the field.

”Archangel with a demon’s heart, bring forth eternal darkness with your rebellious sword—

—The First Darklord, Fusion Summon!”

From the churning darkness, a blade flashed, black wings unfurled violently, and Lucifer, in black armor, descended like the king of darkness. A giant crimson gem gleamed on his shield, his sword cleaving the air with a storm of black wind.

[The First Darklord | ATK 4000]

”A triple Darklord fusion,” Ishizu observed solemnly. ”That must be the deck’s ace monster.”

Its mere presence radiated overwhelming strength—a Level 12, max-level Fusion Darklord, likely with incredible abilities.

Sure enough, Lucifer’s arrival came with a devastating effect.

The Evil God declared, ”When The First Darklord is Fusion Summoned using ’Darklord Morningstar,’ destroy all cards your opponent controls!”

Marik and Ishizu’s faces both changed, exchanging glances of mutual concern.

What a tyrannical effect!

A storm howled as darkness, under Lucifer’s command, swept across Kira’s field.

Both Black Luster Soldier and Silent Magician were engulfed and destroyed, along with his set Spell/Trap cards—everything vanished into the tempest.

”Now your field is empty,” the Evil God said. ”A brief clash, but for a human, your power’s not bad. Still, before a god, it’s nothing!”

”Wiped my field in an instant—impressive,” Kira admitted, shielding himself from the storm.

”But I can be quite tenacious myself.

When Silent Magician is destroyed, I can upgrade her from the deck!

Reborn in light—

—Silent Magician LV8!”

A white magic circle formed, spinning as light coalesced into a slender figure—flowing robes, silver hair. Silent Magician descended in a radiant glow.

[Silent Magician LV8 | ATK 3500]

The Evil God frowned slightly.

”You knew you’d lose, yet you chose Attack Position. I see… If you’d chosen Defense, I’d simply destroy her with Tezcatlipoca, then attack directly with Lucifer for game.

But in Attack Position, while you’ll take damage, I have to use Lucifer first, then Tezcatlipoca. You’ll still take heavy damage, but you’ll survive the turn. Not a bad calculation.”

The Evil God sneered and gave his command.

”Then, The First Darklord, attack Silent Magician LV8!”

Lucifer’s greatsword fell, black winds swirling into a blade of darkness. Silent Magician formed a magic circle shield, but after only moments, Lucifer’s brute force shattered it. Even at Level 8, Silent Magician was overwhelmed.

[Kira | LP 4000 → 3500]

”Next, Darklord Tezcatlipoca—direct attack!”

The Darklords’ relentless onslaught crashed forward.

”Mr. Kira!” Marik called out.

But Kira remained calm. ”I activate a Quick-Play Spell from my graveyard!”

Everyone: ”?!”

A Quick-Play Spell—from the graveyard!?

”The card destroyed by your Lucifer just now was this—”

A green Spell Card spun from Kira’s graveyard, swirling into the air.

”Quick-Play Spell—Rescuer from the Grave!” (Anime card)

In the DM anime, used by Rafael of the Doma Trio.

”Rescuer from the Grave can be activated by banishing itself and four other cards from your graveyard.”

Kira revealed five cards.

”I banish Black Luster Soldier—Envoy of the Beginning, Pot of Greed, Silent Magician, Silent Magician LV8, and Rescuer from the Grave—five cards in total.

This turn’s Battle Phase is forcibly ended!”

A transparent magic barrier rose, blocking the Darklords’ onslaught. The attacks slammed into the shield, but instead of breaking through, the rebound forced them back, almost knocking them over.

The Evil God frowned. ”You even managed to block that?”
