Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

He looked at Tina, who had now taken on Lisi’s appearance, and the two dolls in her hands. ”Leave the clown doll here. Its appearance is too recognizab... huh?”

Before he could even finish, the clown doll slowly transformed into a clown mask, then, in a very human-like fashion, shrank into a ring that settled onto Tina’s finger.

”...So, you want to go out and take a look too?”

Wei’en felt a headache coming on. This crew was nothing but a bunch of overeager amateurs who were terrible at laying low.

”Let’s go. Time to take a look outside.”

A moment later, three humans, one zombie, and one Mechanical Life—five beings in total—appeared in a bedroom aboard the Ronan.

The moment they appeared, Clelia headed for the door. ”I’m just going to take a look...”

”Absolutely not!” Wei’en grabbed her by the scruff of her neck. ”You can turn one person on this ship into a puppet, at most. And it definitely can’t be the one in the cockpit.”

”I just want to take one look,”

Clelia muttered, looking at him guiltily. Seeing his firm resolve, she could only resign herself to her fate and hang her head.

”You don’t want a repeat of what happened last night, do you?”

Even so, Wei’en still didn’t trust her. He grabbed her hand and led the group out of the bedroom.

Hearing the commotion from inside, Ronan, who was in the cockpit, scrambled up from the floor and stood respectfully at the doorway. ”Captain, sir... First Officer, sir...”

’More people?’

”Second Officer, sir... Third Officer...”

”Stop!” Wei’en held up a hand to cut him off. He pointed to Clelia beside him. ”She is the First Officer. The rest of them won’t be assigned positions on this ship.”

”Understood, Captain.”

”First Officer? Me?” Clelia pointed to herself. ”I’m the First Officer?”

Ronan glanced up at her, and his body shuddered. Sweat instantly beaded on his forehead. ”My apologies, Lady Clelia, but this is the captain’s order.”

”You know her?” Wei’en raised an eyebrow. ”Has the name ’Thousand-faced’ already spread to the seas?”

Clelia glared at him, displeased. ”Is it so strange for my reputation to have reached the seas? Cap-tain Mar-co!”

Wei’en ignored her and looked at Ronan instead. ”So how did you recognize her? I was under the impression that very few people have seen her with this face.”

”Well, Captain,”

Sensing her displeasure, Ronan quickly explained, ”Originally, I had only heard of her by name. I didn’t know what the First Officer looked like. But that one time...”

”That one time? What happened that one time?”

”It was about the incident in Caster City State a while back,” Ronan said, pulling out a newspaper. He unfolded it and pointed to a photo in the corner. ”Here. It says Lady Thousand-faced Kreya was confirmed dead in Krimms Cathedral. This is what she looked like...”

Clelia snatched the newspaper and stared at the photo. It showed her own intact face, but her body was shriveled and twisted like a pretzel, with a pair of delicate white feet sticking out. She looked utterly wretched in death.

”Who took this picture?!”

Wei’en glanced at the photo and almost burst out laughing.

’So that’s what Clelia looked like when she died. How tragic.’

’The crucial thing was, not only was she photographed at her most humiliating moment and published in a newspaper, but they even ran it with the blatant headline: ”Eternal Life Association’s Thousand-Faced Clelia Dies a Tragic Death”...’

’Just thinking about it...’

”Hahaha...”

”You!?”

”...Sorry, I’m not laughing at you. It’s just, this newspaper has already been published...”

”Who gave you permission to look at that? Forget you ever saw it, you hear me?!”

”I can’t help it...”

”Damn it, I’m going to kill whoever did this! This is too humiliating!!”
