Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

Wei’en, disguised as Marco, raised a clenched fist high above his head and shouted in a booming voice, ”We’ve just cleaned up some people who wouldn’t listen!”

’I’d better save the First Officer position for Clelia. Otherwise, if she gets a chance to take the helm, who knows what kind of dangers we’ll run into.’

”Sec-Second Officer.”

Hearing his words, the pirates glanced at Ronan, their wary expressions gradually warming with familiar enthusiasm. ”Second Officer, sir! We told you there was something wrong with those guys, didn’t we? You definitely can’t trust them!”

”Hey, Calhoun, give me a hand. Help me throw this one overboard...”

”No, that’s not right! He’s a demon! A Deep Sea Demon that twists men’s minds! He’ll devour us all! Everyone, remember—Ronan isn’t the Second Officer, he’s the Captain!”

”Don’t trust him! He’s a Deep Sea Demon! You absolutely cannot forget who you are!”

BANG! BANG!

Wei’en raised a hand, killing the two pirates unaffected by his deception, and said blandly, ”They were also part of the earlier mutiny!”

”Yes, yes, that’s right...”

The former captain, Ronan, looked at him in terror and confessed, ”I’m the Second Officer. I’ve always been the ship’s Second Officer. Quick, throw these insolent bastards overboard!”

As he spoke, he scrambled to grab a dead pirate in each hand and heave them overboard.

”Yeah, seriously! How could Captain Marco be a Deep Sea Demon? Those guys have lost their minds!”

”Hurry and get them overboard! The deck was just swabbed this morning, and now it’ll have to be washed all over again.”

With a few loud shouts, the pirates worked together, heaving all the bodies from the deck into the sea.

’A Deep Sea Demon?’

’Do things like that actually exist?’

Wei’en watched the pirates pensively. He extended his Spiritual Sense, letting it sweep over the entire steamship, not missing a single corner.

This steamship was significantly larger than the two-masted sailing ship Clelia had commandeered yesterday. It was forty-five meters long, with nearly ten meters of height from the ship’s bottom to the deck. Above the steam-powered engine room on the lowest level was a floor where the pirates rested.

Above that was the pilothouse, along with two bedrooms, which must be for the captain...

”Hm?”

”Captain, do you have any orders?” Hearing the sound, Captain Ronan—no, Second Officer Ronan, as he should now be called—took off his tricorn hat and asked gingerly.

Wei’en gave him a peculiar look. ”Second Officer Ronan, you certainly lead a colorful life.”

Just a moment ago, when his Spiritual Sense swept over one of the bedrooms in the cabin, he had ”seen” five girls in exceptionally revealing clothes lying scattered about. From the looks of them, they had clearly just been through a wild storm.

”Th-these... starting from...” Ronan caught on. ”Starting today, they are all yours, Captain.”

”Don’t say such things. I’m not interested in them,” Wei’en refused sternly.

’Who do you take me for?’

’The man standing before you is an Honorary Mage of the Ghost Soul School, a Shadow Group Leader, the most wanted man by the Dawn Church, and the latest addition to the entry blacklist of every city-state in Shetland...’

’How could *I* possibly be interested in those women of yours?!’

”Yes, yes, of course. It’s only right that you’d look down on them, Captain. I...”

Wei’en cut him off. ”You seem to still have your memories of being captain, don’t you?”

Ronan’s face paled slightly, a sheen of sweat appearing on his brow. ”I... I don’t. I’ve always been the ship’s Second Officer.”

”Remember what you said. If I hear anything different from you in the future, you know the consequences!”

”You can rest assured, sir. My lips are sealed. That will absolutely never happen.”

Wei’en shot him a look. He didn’t really care if Ronan was still under the sway of his deception or not. If the man dared to have any funny ideas, Wei’en would just toss him overboard too.

”Get a room cleaned up for me. The ship’s First Officer is arriving soon. She’s hot-tempered and not nearly as easygoing as I am. If the room isn’t clean, or if there’s any other junk lying around...”

”There won’t be! I’ll make sure it’s spotless!”

Ronan slapped his chest in assurance, his heart sinking into utter despair. ’A redhead can already pin me with one hand, and now a supposedly even more terrifying First Officer is coming. I’m finished.’

”Second Officer Ronan, as long as you’re obedient and do as I say, after a while, this ship, including these men, will be yours again.”

Having used the stick, Wei’en now offered a carrot. ”Also, pass the word: this ship isn’t called the *Red Hair*. It will continue to be called the *Ronan*.”

”Captain,” Ronan froze for a moment, a trace of astonishment flashing in his triangular eyes. ”Do you really mean that?”

”Of course. Or would you rather jump overboard and feed the fish?”

”No, no, no! I’ll go right now and arrange to have your room and the First Officer’s cleaned up.”

Ronan spun around and hastily called a few pirates into the ship’s cabin, his frantic demeanor betraying his fear that a poor job would get him thrown overboard to feed the fish.

Once that was settled, Wei’en walked into the pilothouse under the reverent gazes of the other pirates.

It was his first time seeing the layout of a steamship, and he was somewhat curious about its appearance.

The pilothouse was full of black iron pipes, coiled in circles across the ceiling, making the whole room look cluttered and crude.

Besides the pipes, the most conspicuous items were a red leather chair and the nautical instruments it faced, which were set behind a glass panel. These instruments were mostly made of copper, with complex mechanical structures.

Wei’en touched a lever with a wooden handle on the control panel, then looked at the instruments before him.

Aside from some dials he couldn’t understand, a sea chart was spread out in the center. It roughly marked the various city-states along the coasts of four continents, along with a hand-drawn black dot representing the ship’s approximate location.
