Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

”Is it over?”

At that moment, the people watching the battle from all over the city-state were stunned as they saw Ales flee and the Cathedral area fall silent.

Who would have thought the battle would end with Ales defeated and fleeing in a panic?

”That person... If I remember correctly, his name is Wei’en, right?”

”Yeah, an Investigator from Investigation Department One, under Lisi. I never would’ve thought...”

”It’s terrifying. He looks so harmless, yet he possesses such horrifying strength. Even Director Ales was no match for him.”

...

High above Natali District, Old Jack watched Ales flee and gave chase without a word.

Nifa didn’t look back, only sighing softly. With Ales still alive, she couldn’t imagine what kind of tragedy would happen next.

”Praise the Storm!”

Seeing the fighting stop, Nayike let out a long sigh of relief. He waved to the legion behind him. ”Move out! Occupy Krimms Cathedral!”

”Occupy Krimms Cathedral!”

Meanwhile, on the other side, Lisi and the others were stunned by the scene.

”This Wei’en,” Yegor said, blowing a smoke ring with a smile. ”I knew he could do it. When I recruited him into the Secret Investigation Department, I could tell he was exceptionally talented...”

BAM!

Lisi fiercely wiped the tears from her face and slammed a fist into his. ”Exceptionally talented, my ass! Why don’t you just say he managed to beat Director Ales because of your wonderful guidance?”

”Oof,” Yegor groaned, rubbing his cheek. ”Well... that’s not entirely wrong.”

”You bastard...”

Beside them, Marco was uncharacteristically quiet, not saying anything to draw attention to himself. He just kept watching Wei’en on the Cathedral’s bell tower, secretly making a decision in his heart.

At the same time, closer to the Cathedral, Kali stared blankly at Wei’en.

’He... his strength, how could it be...?’

”Hee hee ha ha...”

The Clown’s laughter was shrill, as if filled with hatred for everything, yet also with disbelief at Tina’s death. His blood-red eyes suddenly snapped toward Kali.

”Tina... is dead... The show must go on!”

”Wha-what?!”

CLANG!

Before Kali could even react, the Clown’s body traced a bizarre arc. As if dancing, he swung his short knife, leaving a series of cuts on her body.

”Tina, hee hee ha ha...”

Kali did her best to block his attacks, her handling of the Two-Handed Greatsword growing more adept. But having obtained only a sliver of authority, her control over her power and her combat experience were far inferior to the Clown’s.

On top of that, the Holy Professionals whose lives were continuously being drained away by the black threads added immense pressure.

’Even if all the Holy Professionals sacrificed themselves, I probably still couldn’t stop the Clown...’

Just then, a calm voice echoed from above the Cathedral, speaking in the Gonzalez language.

”Arnold Lilith Leonard!”

”Hm?”

The Clown’s body froze. His attack stopped, and a confused expression crossed his face. ’Is someone calling my true name?’

His eyes, which had been filled with killing intent and coldness, cleared up. He looked quizzically at Kali in front of him, then glanced down at the black short knife in his hand and said with disgust, ”Who let the power of the night out?”

”Uh...”

Kali froze for a moment, then watched the Clown with even greater vigilance. ’What’s happening now? Another change?’

’That voice... it must be Wei’en, right?’

While she was dazed, she saw Wei’en leap down from the top of the Cathedral, holding Tina and the teddy bear, and run calmly toward a corner of the square.

”Wei’en...”

”Wei’en?”

Hearing the name, the Clown finally remembered what he had told that little brat. He glanced at the surrounding corpses and couldn’t help but become furious.

”Damn it, didn’t we agree you were supposed to break me out of my berserk state?”

He hurriedly abandoned Kali and turned to run in Wei’en’s direction. His figure no longer had any of its previous slow, dance-like grace.

Wei’en, however, was exceptionally calm.

The reason he wasn’t grieving Tina’s death was that he had suddenly thought of the forbidden item that had resurrected Ales: 0-34, the Revival Coffin.

He wanted to use the forbidden item’s power to resurrect Tina.

But before that, he needed to solve another problem.

[Because your Spirit level is below 500, you have been eroded by the Origin of Death. Your Spirit is contaminated, and your body is about to mutate. Evaluation: Stabilize your mind, or don’t blame me if you turn into a mutant... Special Reward: Survival Points +50, Origin +5, Resilience Level +5, Spirit Level +5.]

Wei’en noted the prompt on his panel and calmly used his talent, once again converting his Resilience Level into Spirit Level, and his Resilience Level into Origin Power.

With that—

Name: Wei’en Loft

Bloodline: Sare Ethnicity

Class: Wizard (Beginner)

Resilience Level: 3394.3

Spirit Level: 3394.3

Origin: 332 (333) (1 point of Origin sealed)

Talents: Deception, Spiritual Conversion

Feats: Ballistic Control, Covert Perception.

Survival Points: 12450

Wei’en kept his previous Origin Power and distributed the remaining stats evenly between Spirit and Resilience. This was to avoid being contaminated by the Origin of Death due to insufficient base stats, and also to maintain a balanced development.

He had to admit, Spiritual Conversion was a perfect fit for him.

If not for this talent, he would have been unable to contend with Ales this time.

Of course, the biggest factor was the boost he received from Tina’s contractual power...

However, this experience also gave Wei’en a faint understanding of the relationship between base stats and Origin Power. Origin Power was indeed formidable and could amplify base stats, but without high enough base stats, even the strongest Origin Power was useless.

Furthermore, Origin Power possessed an Extraordinary quality that other powers lacked.
