Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

It was just like Tina’s Calamity Origin—only when it grew powerful enough could she transform into a level-four Calamity.

Soon, Wei’en ran over to the Revival Coffin. Gazing at its silvery-white body and the lucky pattern on its lid, he took a deep breath, pushed it open, and placed Tina inside.

[You have witnessed ”Taboo Item 0-34, the Revival Coffin.” Your trajectory of fate has changed. Current Encounter Progress: 70/100. Evaluation: If you wish to use it, do so quickly! Special Reward: Survival Points +10, Origin Power +1, Spirit Level +2, Resilience Level +2.]

A pillar of light shot toward the heavens once more, piercing the gradually dissipating clouds in the night sky. The terrifying might descended upon the central area again, making those who had just breathed a sigh of relief nearly suffocate from the shock.

”It’s happening again?!”

”Holy shit, can’t we get a break?”

”Enough chatter! Find a place to hide, quick! The Crimson Moon is about to appear!”

Wei’en stood beside the coffin, faintly sensing streams of what seemed to be souls or Origin Power from the surroundings being absorbed by it. The light grew ever stronger.

[You are being irradiated by the Crimson Moon. Because your Origin Power exceeds 100, you have been spared the Crimson Moon’s corruption. Evaluation: Origin Power can resist the Crimson Moon, but only temporarily. Special Reward: Survival Points +50, Origin Power -1 (Temporary), Spirit Level +1.]

[...Special Reward: Survival Points +50, Origin Power -10 (Temporary)...]

’The Crimson Moon is out?’

Wei’en looked up, only now noticing that the dark clouds shrouding the sky had dissipated. The glow of the Crimson Moon shone down once again.

He noticed that his Origin Power was being consumed at an ever-increasing rate. Even with over three hundred Origin Power, he could likely only last for thirty seconds at most.

At this thought, Wei’en took a lantern from his Space Ring and lit it.

As the candle began to burn, the unique radiance of Dawn dispelled the surrounding red glow, and his Origin Power began to slowly regenerate.

”You’re going to use this to resurrect Tina?”

Just then, the Clown ran over, sidled up to him, and said with a mischievous grin.

Wei’en glanced at it but ignored it, waiting silently for Tina’s resurrection.

”This won’t work. If it were any other ordinary Extraordinary, maybe it would...”

”Hm?”

The Clown recalled what happened earlier and said with a wry grin, ”Tina is that woman’s vessel. You know that woman, right? The phantom from before.”

”Go on.”

”A vessel isn’t a Favored One. Favored Ones are wielders of authority. They only grasp a portion of a god’s power and are gradually molded by its characteristics to become the most suitable wielder.”

As it spoke, a grin spread across the Clown’s face. It thoroughly enjoyed riling Wei’en up.

”And the vessel—Tina, that is—is the carrier that woman specially prepared for her incarnation.”

Wei’en asked thoughtfully, ”So?”

”So, Tina is suffused with a vast amount of Calamity Origin. That’s not something a normal Extraordinary characteristic can compare with.”

”A different qualitative power?”

”You actually know the term ’qualitative power’? Not many people in the current era know that.” The Clown was stunned for a moment, then explained, ”If you want to resurrect Tina, there are two ways.”

”One is to find a way to purify or absorb the Calamity Origin from her body, but then she could only live as an ordinary person. The other method is to find an Origin Power of equivalent qualitative power.”

’Equivalent qualitative power...’

Wei’en frowned. He didn’t even consider the first method. Becoming an ordinary person would be too cruel to Tina.

Besides, Ales, the one who had hurt her, was still alive. And that phantom who wanted her as its vessel—he was sure Tina would want to kill It with her own hands.

’And the second method...’

’Dawn?’

The Clown snapped its fingers. ”That’s right, them!”

’Dawn...’

Wei’en turned his head to look at the Holy Professionals of the Dawn Church not far away. He feared that with his current power, killing enough of them to resurrect Tina would be an impossible task.

”Do you want to resurrect her?”

”Are you going to lose control again?”

Wei’en looked at the Clown’s excited expression. ’Do I want to resurrect Tina?’

’The answer is—of course. Absolutely. I have to!’

Perhaps it was the influence of the Calamity Origin, or perhaps it was his dissatisfaction with Dawn’s practice of holing up in their church, but Wei’en felt not the slightest hesitation or guilt about killing Holy Professionals to resurrect Tina.

He had already killed so many of the Vasquez People and devoured their Origin Power. His moral baseline, buried deep in his heart, had likely already plummeted into the abyss.

’As long as the Clown loses control again, with its freakish manipulative abilities, killing those Holy Professionals would be easy.’

”No, no, no,” the Clown waved its hands dismissively, then suddenly leaned in close with a grin. ”It won’t be me losing control, but I can help you do it!”

”Oh?”

”Use me! As long as you use my power, you can definitely do it!”

Wei’en’s eyes narrowed. Watching the Clown eagerly approach him, he was highly suspicious of the creature’s motives.

”You’re scared? Scared I’ll use you?”

The Clown seemed to see through his thoughts. A cunning glint flashed in its blood-red eyes. ”Make your choice. Resurrect Tina, or give up now.”

’A choice...’

Wei’en fell silent.

He looked at the Revival Coffin, which was still continuously absorbing all sorts of Origin Power. He thought of Tina, who had brought him a trace of warmth during their time together, and gave a calm nod.

”How do I do it?”

”You agree?” Seeing him nod, the Clown’s grin stretched from ear to ear. ”Give your body to me...”

”Do it!”

Now that he had made his decision, Wei’en hesitated no more.

”Are you sure?”

”How long are you going to waste time with these meaningless questions?” Wei’en’s face fell as he glared at the Clown. ”Last time you lost control, you...”

”That was my mistake.”

The Clown wrinkled its nose. It had indeed forgotten to remind Wei’en to stay away when it lost control, but that didn’t mean it was unreliable in everything it did.
