Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

Upon seeing the description of the Undead Transformation Spell, Wei’en’s first thought was of Shawa, who had been modified into a semi-mechanical being.

If she could gain the innate abilities granted by the Deadpool status after her transformation, it would undoubtedly be a huge boost to her power.

However, the chances of gaining an innate ability were far too low.

Wei’en didn’t hesitate. He immediately opened his panel, selected the Undead Transformation Spell, and started allocating points.

Undead Transformation (Death God) Level 1 (1/100)... (100/100).

[Undead Transformation (Death God) Level 1 (100/100). Upgrade?]

[Upgrade.]

[...Undead Transformation (Death God) Level 1 has been upgraded to Level 2...]

[...]

[Congratulations, your skill: Undead Transformation (Death God) has been upgraded from Level 3 to Level 4. Effect: In the name of Death God Olanir, bestow upon deceased beings or Undead Creatures the status of ”Deadpool.” Undead Creatures with the ”Deadpool” status will have a 25% chance of gaining an innate ability.]

’Even at Level 4, it’s only a 25% success rate... That’s not a safe bet at all.’

Wei’en looked at the little over two thousand survival points he had left and knew he couldn’t upgrade the Undead Transformation Spell any further.

”I’ll just have to wait...”

It was a good opportunity. He could use the time while he saved up points to study Miss Zombie’s body.

The modifications that damn—no, that *dead*—Liaison Officer performed on Shawa were incomplete, and Wei’en wasn’t sure what kind of effects they had on her.

He had to learn the relevant skills before he could properly examine Shawa’s body.

Mechanical modification...

An idea struck Wei’en. He took out Jerry’s handbook and began to flip through it.

But even after flipping to the very last page, he couldn’t find a single record of knowledge related to mechanical modification.

Next, he searched through the new exchange list, but the result also made him frown.

The amount of knowledge available for exchange on the list was several times greater than at the apprentice level, but there was the least amount of knowledge related to mechanical modification, bar none—only four research notebooks were labeled with related topics.

On top of that, the exchange price was a mere 1 gold pound. It wasn’t hard to guess their value from a price like that...

’Then again, it makes sense when I think about it.’

Given the style of the Ghost Soul School’s Wizard School, most Wizards would choose to study corpse modification. Mechanical modification, which overlapped heavily with it, would naturally be neglected.

This was evident from the nearly two pages of knowledge related to corpse modification on the list.

”Looks like I’ll have to find another way.”

Wei’en shook his head helplessly, then took out a blank sheet of parchment and wrote down a few items he needed to exchange for.

He had damaged many of his tools for making Magic Potions during his previous mutation, and he had used up a lot of bullets in the last battle. Both needed to be replenished, and he also needed metal materials to build new Mechanical Puppets...

Soon, he had spent all of his three hundred-odd gold pounds.

Fortunately, he still had ten sets of materials left for making the Aberration Pacification Potion, which should be enough to cover his expenses for a while.

Before long, the Ghost Soul School sent over the items he had exchanged for.

Wei’en took the various tools out of a blue and white box and arranged them neatly. He glanced at the ”typewriter” to the side and finally decided to put it away.

He was no longer the Ghost Soul School’s Intelligence Officer in the Caster City State. He feared he would rarely have a use for this tool again.

’Being an Intelligence Officer wasn’t so bad, actually.’

He recalled his life in the Caster City State and the events of that time, and the figures of Lisi, Marco, and Kali surfaced in his mind.

They never had a proper goodbye. ’Hopefully, we’ll have a chance to meet again in the future...’

Wei’en pulled out his pocket watch and checked the time. The hands had passed six. ’Is it nighttime already?’

’Wait, no.’

’Didn’t I ask Clelia to come and get me before the red moon appeared so I could stand watch?’

He’d even had her leave one of her puppets in the theater for that very reason... ’Did something happen outside?’

At this thought, Wei’en left his workshop, forced to interrupt Tina and the others’ studies. ”Shawa, Zero, same as before, help me make another batch of bullets.”

Zero eagerly dropped the scroll of parchment as if it contained a dangerous aberration rather than the Gonzalez language.

”Father, leave it to me! No problem.”

”Yel... sen... de?” Shawa looked up, her sharp voice grating out a few words in the Gonzalez language.

”Hm? You’re learning fast, Shawa,”

Wei’en gave her a surprised glance. ”I do need to go check outside. Clelia is too unreliable, so I’m a bit worried.”

”Tina will too,” the white-haired girl chimed in with a phrase in the Gonzalez language. ”A-ssi-ba.”

’A-ssi-ba... Does that mean happy?’

”I’m happy too, Tina,” Wei’en said, patting her head. ”I’ll take you out to see the scenery of the Cordo Sea tomorrow morning.”

”Tina, knows,” Tina said, squinting her eyes. She seemed to really like the gesture.

”I’m heading out now.”

Wei’en took out the Golden Key, left the Clown Theater, and appeared in a ship’s cabin outside.

”Huh?”

The moment his feet touched the floor, he felt the ship’s hull lurch violently upward, nearly throwing him off his feet.

”I knew something was wrong!”

As Wei’en’s Spirit perception spread out, he saw Clelia, her face etched with anxiety, commanding her puppets to patch holes in the deck.

”...Damn you! Don’t let me see you again, or I’ll kill you!”

Clelia’s voice, carried on the fierce sea wind and through the torrential rain, made it clear she was in a terrible mood.

Wei’en darted outside. Seeing Clelia, soaked to the bone and looking utterly wretched, he shouted, ”What’s going on?”
