Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

”Director, just give us the order. What’s the plan?” Albert said with a frown.

From the very beginning of the battle, he had been affected by the Demon Clown’s loss of control. He had barely had a chance to use his Extraordinary Power before he was nearly killed on the spot. It left him extremely pissed off.

It wasn’t just him. All the department head and Director-level Extraordinaries of the Secret Investigation Department felt the same way—it was so damn frustrating.

If that Investigator who’d undergone a mutation hadn’t saved them in time... Ugh, never mind.

”The pirates should be in Basil District. We need to drive them out of Caster City State first!”

Nifa deliberately avoided mentioning Central City, which was closer. She knew that with the few Investigators the Secret Investigation Department had left, it was impossible for them to get involved in the battle against the out-of-control Demon Clown and the even more terrifying Tina.

That would be a pointless sacrifice!

”My plan is to split into three teams. The first team, led by Albert and the main force of the Combat Department, will head to Basil District to drive out the pirates. Of the other two teams, one will be led by Balats to Yidrisu District in the north. Finally, Dorff will take the remaining people to Ruer District in the south. Your mission is to do everything in your power to restore order to the city state!”

”Understood.”

”I concur!”

”...”

No one objected to her arrangements, but Deputy Director Balats looked at her quizzically. ”What about you?”

”I’m staying behind. There’s one more thing I need to confirm...” Director Nifa took a deep breath, her gaze turning for the first time toward Krimms Cathedral. The light of dawn was already rising there, slowly illuminating the entire core area.

”You...”

”Don’t say any more. Go now!”

Deputy Director Balats fell silent. After a moment, he and the Sealers with him saluted. ”Be careful.”

With that, the few hundred remaining Investigators split into three teams and set off toward their respective targets.

”Everyone, you must be careful!” Nifa called out suddenly as she watched their departing figures. ”If you discover an even greater crisis in the city state, then...”

”Don’t worry, Director Nifa,” Albert replied without turning back, giving a wave. ”It’s just a bunch of pirates!”

Yegor also blew out a smoke ring. ”Director, I’m sure it won’t come to that.”

He and a small number of Investigators followed behind Deputy Director Dorff, heading for Ruer District.

Lisi and Marco followed him silently, their gazes occasionally drifting toward the white-haired girl in the distance who had unleashed a cataclysm.

’Tina... Wei’en... I hope you’re both okay...’

”Aren’t you going to go see him?” Lisi asked, noticing the arrivals from the Council, specifically the red-haired, middle-aged man at their head.

Marco followed her gaze. After a long silence, he chuckled softly. ”He has his choices, and I have mine. From now on, Nascimento is Nascimento, and I am me!”

’Trocchi Nascimento... Father. I respect your choice, but I don’t agree with it!’

”That smile of yours,” Lisi said, punching him on the arm. ”What are you trying to be, all deep and brooding?”

”Ow, that hurts! You brute!”

”Hm? What did you say?!”

But their laughter was short-lived.

Although they had expected it, when they truly saw the scene in the districts outside the core area—a horrific sight that even the phrase ”a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood” couldn’t begin to describe—they all fell silent.

”So, what on earth was the reason for everything that happened tonight?!”

...

...

”So, that’s the destination?”

”Mhm.”

”Old man, you can go if you want, but I’m not going. Didn’t you see how terrifying that little girl is? I don’t want to die young! I’m still in my prime, and I still want to sleep with Wei’en...”

”Hm?”

”I’m not going, I— Dammit, old man, let go! I can walk by myself!”

”It would’ve been better if you’d just done that from the start. Let’s go. It’s time to see an old friend...”
