Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

”Oh?”

The Shadow Giant was a little surprised. ”Helati, what a useless piece of trash!”

But he wasn’t panicked. The Rune Array was powerful, but its light also caused the areas covered by shadow within the Detention Area to increase dramatically.

Just then, Director Nifa lost her patience. She spread her hands, and an invisible force stirred with her movement, forming a pitch-black sphere between her palms.

”You should have done this sooner, Lady Nifa.”

The Shadow Giant seemed to grow even more excited. All his duplicates withdrew from the Dark Realm, causing his body to solidify once more before he leaped violently into the air.

Countless shadow spikes erupted from his massive body as he smashed down toward the Detention Area.

[You are taking...]

’Damn it,’

Wei’en cursed inwardly.

The moment the duplicates withdrew, the pressure on him lessened considerably. The attacks from the surrounding Shadow Killers no longer posed a threat.

Thus, he was the first to notice the Shadow Giant’s move.

’Dodge?’

”Array, defense—”

Seeing this, Deputy Director Balats quickly halted his actions and controlled the Rune Array to activate its Defense Runes.

Rune after rune lit up. The Rune Power was transmitted through the array’s lines, wrapping another massive barrier of light around the outside of the Dark Realm.

CRACK!

The Shadow Giant smashed into the light barrier. The shadow spikes on his body pierced through it, leaving holes like those in shattered glass.

”Not enough! Again!”

He then bounced up again and smashed down once more.

Director Nifa’s figure flickered, and she appeared outside the light barrier. The black sphere in her hands flew toward the Shadow Giant’s spikes.

”Dai, De, Slin!”

She flung the black sphere from her hand. As it neared the Shadow Giant, the fist-sized orb rapidly expanded. By the time it was about to make contact, it had already grown to the same size as the Shadow Giant himself.

Their collision didn’t produce the expected explosion of power, nor was there any sound. The moment the massive dark sphere touched the shadows, it began to pull in the Shadow Giant.

For a moment, darkness and shadow intertwined and merged. A cancellation of forces occurred, causing the Shadow Giant to rapidly dissolve and shrink.

”Damn it, Aberrant Source corruption?!” Aiko yelled, flustered and exasperated. ”Nifa, you actually used an attack from a Forbidden Item! Aren’t you worried it’ll lose control?”

But it was clear he wouldn’t live long enough for Nifa to answer.

His entire being was devoured by the black sphere, which then dissipated into nothing.

As Aiko vanished, the Shadow Dark Realm shrouding the Detention Area also dissipated. The other Shadow Killers hastily scattered and fled.

”Bastards, you think you can run now? Too late!”

Albert and the others, who had been holding in their rage, sprang into action, hunting down the Shadow Killers one by one.

’A Forbidden Item?’

Wei’en’s heart shuddered. He casually shot and killed a Shadow Killer, then turned his head to look at Nifa in mid-air.

At some point, a small statue had appeared in her hand, about the size of the head of a nobleman’s cane. Nifa held the base of the statue, its top carved into a bird with half a wing missing.

[You have witnessed ”Forbidden Item 0-91: Figurehead of the Homeward.” Your trajectory of fate has been altered to a certain degree. Current encounter progress: 80/100. ’Twenty seconds?’

’Lost control?!’

Wei’en pulled Tina and dodged away from Black Jack. A Golden Key had appeared in his hand at some point, and he was about to use it to transport to the Clown Theater.

’Forget it, if I stay in this damned place any longer, things will go south!’

Hm?

Black Jack noticed his movement instantly. His gaze was drawn to the key. ’Where have I seen that pattern before?’

Without a second thought, Black Jack appeared beside Wei’en in an instant and grabbed his hand.

”Don’t move, and don’t make a sound. Otherwise, I’m afraid I might accidentally crush you to death...”

”Ngh.”

[You have been locked onto by the killing intent of Jack Kim Adros. Evaluation: Actually, you could try resisting. I’m sure your death would be quite spectacular... Reward: Survival Points +80.]

With his hand holding the Golden Key clamped in Black Jack’s grip, Wei’en didn’t dare move a muscle. Cold sweat trickled slowly down his forehead.

’Now I’m really screwed...’

Just then, the white-haired girl beside him looked calmly at the suddenly appeared Black Jack and said apathetically, ”Tina hates you.”

”Eh?” Black Jack froze for a moment. ”Tina, you don’t move either. It’ll be over soon.”

”Tina hates you.”

Tina repeated the words. Her vacant eyes, which had remained clearly visible even in the Shadow Dark Realm, now held a faint glint of blood-red.

”You mean this?”

Black Jack gave an awkward laugh and lifted the hand that was holding Wei’en, then let go, as if he was worried or afraid of something.

”See? I’ve let go.”

Wei’en quickly moved behind Tina, shaking his sore wrist. He looked at him suspiciously. ”You... What was that?”

”You, shut up!” Black Jack glared at him.

”Tina hates you.”

Black Jack felt a pang in his teeth. He forced a stiff smile. ”Wei’en, please refrain from speaking for now. Just wait quietly.”

Wei’en: ”...”

He was a little confused. ’What is going on here?’

’The great Black Jack was radiating killing intent toward me, but toward Tina... was it fear, or concern?’

But whatever his thoughts, he probably couldn’t ask them right now.

It was obvious Black Jack wasn’t about to satisfy his curiosity.

Meanwhile, Tina, seeing he was free, let the red glow in her eyes fade. She took his hand and said no more.

”This...”

Black Jack felt his teeth ache again. He had really taken on a thankless task this time.

’Damn it, Boss Isabella, you can kiss your wine goodbye!’
