Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

”Wol, Gans, Tar!”

”...”

”Nico, Ruke.”

At that moment, a calm voice recited several incantations in the language of Gonzalez.

Four walls, each formed from hundreds of crystalline bones, rose before the Investigators. A figure in a blue Investigator’s uniform could be faintly seen weaving through the crowd, leaving behind pairs of phantom clones that chanted Charm Spells—it was Wei’en, his base stats now high enough to break free from the Demon Clown’s control.

Thousands of spears came crashing down, smashing against the Bone Walls.

One layer, two layers... four layers!

”Wol, Gans, Tar!”

Wei’en kept a constant watch on the surrounding Bone Walls. When he saw a section shatter under the assault of the spears, he would command the ghosts through his Origin Power to cast the Bone Wall (Death God) magic.

For gaps that were too far away, he would blink over and patch up the Bone Wall, shielding the Investigators from the attack.

Despite this, some spears still slipped through when he couldn’t patch the walls in time, piercing through Investigators and pinning them to the ground.

”You...”

Hearing those voices, Director Nifa quickly looked back. Upon seeing the dozens of Bone Walls shielding all the Investigators, she couldn’t help but weep with relief.

Although some Investigators had fallen, pierced by the spears, the vast majority had been saved by the figure who had suddenly appeared.

’This is good. This is already very good. It’s enough, more than enough...’

The Investigators, who had been despairing and awaiting their deaths, stared at the figure in utter disbelief. This was especially true for Lisi, Marco, and the others who had been standing near Wei’en.

’Wei’en...’

’Wei’en?’

’Wei’en?!’

’We’re saved!!’

They didn’t know how Wei’en had managed to break free from the Demon Clown’s control, but he was undeniably their companion, their comrade-in-arms, their brother.

’So incredibly dependable. I’m so touched... Huh?’

’Wait!’

’Is that...’

A flash of relief had just crossed Lisi’s eyes when she saw Wei’en stop in the middle of the crowd.

His once-crimson eyes were now faintly covered by a black sheen, and the flesh of his face was rapidly twisting and squirming. One by one, eyes as black as ink opened from within his skin.

Not only that, but two pairs of wings formed from crackling lightning appeared on his back, beating gently, just like Tina’s when she had passed by them earlier.

’Wei’en... is transforming?!’

Marco, Lisi, Yegor, Ariana... all the Investigators, whether they knew Wei’en or not, felt their hearts go cold at the sight.

’Shit, no!’

’Why now of all times?’

Nifa also saw that something was wrong with Wei’en. She recalled hearing his name from Ales; she knew he was contracted to Tina, and his current state was probably her influence.

”Wei’en, snap out of it!!”

”Snap out of it?”

Hearing Director Nifa’s voice, Wei’en slightly raised his head to look at her. The eight black eyes on his face all focused on her as a smile touched his lips. ”I am perfectly lucid, Director Nifa.”

He was lucid—more lucid than ever before. And more powerful than ever before!

The stats on his panel were rising at an incredible speed. His Toughness and Spirit both broke past five thousand, and his Origin Power reached a staggering three hundred. Even exposed to the Red Moon now, he could still withstand its corruption for several minutes.

”You...”

Before Director Nifa could speak again, Nicole, seeing the attack had been blocked once more, coldly raised her Golden Scepter and shouted, ”Again! Kill!”

’It’s him again! That damn Sarett clansman!’

’Why is he saving them?’

’Why is he saving these Oldes People?!’

’You deserve to die!’

The Vasquez People once again hurled their spears and fired volley after volley of cannonballs. Even more of them charged ferociously toward the Secret Investigation Department personnel, ignoring their own comrades still frozen before them under the Clown’s control.

Wei’en held his head high, the eyes on his face glancing at the Vasquez People as he noted the new wave of attacks.

”So... noisy,”

As he spoke, he calmly and unhurriedly stepped past the Investigators’ defensive line. ”Director,” he said calmly, ”be ready to protect them. I’m not sure if this magic will accidentally kill them as well...”

’Magic?’

”Hm? Oh, right, I...”

Nifa was stunned for a moment, then quickly dropped down in front of the other Investigators, readying herself.

’What kind of magic could it be?’

Wei’en neither knew nor cared what she was thinking. The panel in his mind was flashing with frantic alerts—’Power surge imminent! Increase stats! System overload! System overload!’

Deeper within him, a faint yet terrifying malice watched him, urging him on. ’Kill them. Kill!’

”Honestly... I just want a quiet life. I want a little more happiness, a little less pain. I want to be able to smile every day...”

”Not this constant ’congratulations on surviving,’ ’you made it through another day,’ ’weakling,’ ’scum,’ ’trash’...”

”What I hate most is seeing strangers show their killing intent toward me. Why are they always so hostile for no reason? I’ve never done anything to wrong them...”

”The Abyssal Sect, the Despair Sect, the Desire Sect... they’re all the same.”
