The Sea Queen of 1985

Chapter 323: Chapter 323: Shouting Match, Fist Fight

Han Xiaorui was quite surprised to hear Liu Xiangnan’s voice. ’Did the farm get robbed again?’

Han Xiaorui asked, ”Xiangnan, don’t panic. Speak slowly. What on earth happened at the farm?”

Liu Xiangnan quickly replied, ”Kuno Hiroo and Mr. Xu from Hong Kong got into a fight!”

”What did you say?” Han Xiaorui couldn’t believe what she was hearing. ”Our clients from Japan and Hong Kong?”

Liu Xiangnan answered, ”Yes, those two! At first, they were just arguing over the ornamental fish. Then, because they couldn’t get the quantity they wanted, they both felt the other was hogging all the fish.”

”They started arguing in Mandarin, then switched to Japanese, then English. At one point, one was yelling in Japanese and the other in Cantonese. I couldn’t understand any of it.”

”I thought they would calm down after yelling for a bit, but who knew they’d get more and more worked up and start fighting.”

Han Xiaorui was startled. ”What about Brother Jianguo? Didn’t the security guys pull them apart?”

Liu Xiangnan chuckled. ”Brother Jianguo went to break it up, but he accidentally got hit by both of them. So Brother Jianguo got mad and beat them both to the ground!”

Han Xiaorui sucked in a sharp breath upon hearing this. ”What kind of mess is this! Just wait, I’m on my way over!”

Seeing Han Xiaorui rush out, Yang Zhigang asked in surprise, ”Is there trouble at the farm?”

Han Xiaorui repeated what Liu Xiangnan had said. ”Uncle Yang, I’m going over to check it out now!”

Yang Zhigang didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. ”These people will stop at nothing to make a profit! They’ve completely abandoned their decorum!”

”I’ll go with you, just in case Jianguo gets impulsive and beats them up again.”

Just as they reached the door, Ye Feng’s car pulled up. He looked surprised. ”Where are you two off to in such a hurry?”

Han Xiaorui locked the door. ”Your Japanese friend and Uncle Xu’s son, Xu Shu, got into a fight at the farm.”

”You know both of them, so it’s perfect. You can go break it up and talk some sense into them. Harmony brings wealth, what’s the point of fighting?”

”Can you get ornamental fish by fighting? There’s only a limited number, and they still need time to grow!”

Ye Feng was incredulous. ”Kuno Hiroo fancies himself a gentleman. He’s always saying he’ll use his brain and his words, but never his fists.”

”As for Uncle Xu’s son, Xu Shu, he’s also a cultured, well-educated man with a great head for business.”

”Even if they wanted to buy ornamental fish, they wouldn’t resort to fighting right at the farm’s entrance!”

Han Xiaorui smiled. ”You don’t believe it, and neither do I! But just now, Xiangnan called.”

Half-convinced, Ye Feng followed Han Xiaorui to the entrance of the fish farm.

By the time they arrived, two police officers who were patrolling nearby had spotted the fight at the farm entrance and had rushed over.

When Han Xiaorui got there, the two officers had already separated the two men with their batons.

But the two were still cursing at each other.

In their native languages!

And with heavy regional accents, no less!

Based on experience, Han Xiaorui deduced that they were genuinely furious.

Because you can only curse most fluently, and with the most passion, in your own dialect.

The two officers couldn’t understand Japanese, but they could understand the Shencheng dialect Xu Shu was cursing in.

The things he was yelling left even the two officers stunned!

It was one thing for Xu Shu to curse Kuno Hiroo with Japanese insults like ”idiot” and ”damn you!”

But had they ever heard someone use slurs like ”Jap bastard” and ”little punk”?

That’s exactly what Xu Shu was yelling!

Completely exasperated, Han Xiaorui walked over. ”If there’s a problem, we can talk it out. Why are you all cursing?”

At that, both Kuno Hiroo’s and Xu Shu’s eyes turned to Han Xiaorui.

They forgot about cursing and rushed over to state their demands.

Worried the two might get impulsive, Ye Feng stepped in front of Han Xiaorui.

”Back off! Keep your distance, don’t get so close! Don’t make me get physical. The two of you together probably couldn’t even take one of my hands!”

Ye Feng’s words made Kuno Hiroo and Xu Shu smile sheepishly.

Kuno Hiroo quickly asked, ”The high-end ornamental fish I ordered, can they be shipped now?”

Mr. Xu also hurriedly asked, ”Ms. Han, please, you must give me another batch of high-end ornamental fish.”

”As you know, the clients in Hong Kong are all wealthy tycoons! For the things they like, it has to be the right stuff, and it has to be expensive.”

Kuno Hiroo rolled his eyes. ”Rich? Are they richer than the great families of Japan? This time, it’s the Aso family who’s buying from me.”

”The Kuno family absolutely cannot afford to offend them. So no matter what, you have to give me a batch this time.”

Xu Shu retorted, ”Don’t think I don’t know you’ve already cut in line with one order. Absolutely not this time! This batch is for me!”

Kuno Hiroo shot back, ”Aren’t you trying to cut in line, too? You’re no better than me! My order volume is far greater than yours. I’m a major client of the Jinshan Bay Ornamental Fish Farm, so I have the right to make demands.”

Xu Shu argued his case, ”In Hong Kong and Macau, we believe in feng shui. The demand for ornamental fish is no less than yours.”

”Why can you cut in line to buy more, but I can’t? Ms. Han, you have to give me a batch of Black Dragon Eyes today.”

Han Xiaorui was at a loss. ”To be honest with you both, all the fully grown, high-end ornamental fish have already been shipped out, bit by bit, according to the orders.”

”Even if we have high-end fish in the farm now, they’re all still small. Some have just hatched, and the oldest are only three months old.”

”Even the biggest ones won’t be ready for sale for another three months. If you don’t believe me, I can take you inside to have a look.”

So, the two men changed into white lab coats and disinfected suits, put on shoe covers, and were fully sanitized before entering the breeding area.

For the several types of fish they particularly needed, there were indeed only small fish in the breeding area, no large ones.

Kuno Hiroo frowned slightly. ”Are there really no large ones left?”

Han Xiaorui shook her head. ”None. Except for the breeding stock, there are really none left! I can’t possibly give you the fish that are carrying eggs!”

Kuno Hiroo frowned again, looking at the three-month-old fish in the tanks. ”Then can these fish be sold?”

Han Xiaorui was taken aback. ”But these fish aren’t fully grown yet.”

Kuno Hiroo waved his hand dismissively. ”As long as I can be sure they’ll survive, it doesn’t matter if they’re small.”

”It’s like how we enjoy following some celebrities from when they are very young and watching them grow into big stars. That feeling is quite nice, too!”

Han Xiaorui paused. ’Is this like one of those pet-raising simulation games?’

”Theoretically, yes! But the feeding method is different from that for adult fish!”

”For example, adult fish only need to be fed once a day! But these small fish need to be fed three times during the day and twice more at night.”

Kuno Hiroo raised an eyebrow. To him, that wasn’t a problem at all.
