The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 1243: Chapter 474: The Subway Stalking Incident

Speaking of which, Zhou Wang hasn’t taken the subway in quite a while.

...Actually, it’s not a necessity; it’s just that if he were to have a car brought over from the city center, it would take close to an hour of waiting. It seemed more convenient to just take the subway back, so Zhou Wang headed directly to the subway station.

Occasionally opting for public transportation, Zhou Wang found he had an inexplicable little anticipation, a kind of ”life experience” déjà vu.

It was only when he bought a subway ticket and entered the station that Zhou Wang realized he was a bit behind the times. After all, the last time he took the subway was several years ago, and now, one only needs to open Alipay and scan a ride code to handle everything, with no need to buy a physical ticket.

Zhou Wang was taking Line 2, boarding at Pudong Airport Station and riding all the way to Nanjing East Road Station. There were 12 stops along the way; it was roughly estimated to take an hour but wasn’t much slower than driving, so Zhou Wang could accept this.

No longer surrounded by an entourage, Zhou Wang initially felt somewhat unaccustomed, but as he entered the subway car, he gradually experienced a different feeling.

The passengers at the Airport Station were not too many nor too few, and at first, Zhou Wang had a seat. However, after a few stops, as more passengers boarded, Zhou Wang voluntarily gave his seat to a pregnant woman.

Standing in the corner, Zhou Wang chose not to play with his phone but leaned silently against the wall, feeling the most authentic secular life.

He saw an elderly couple snuggling together and whispering something, saw a group of chatterbox college students planning where to go for karaoke at night, saw exhausted commuters leaning against the wall like him with eyes closed to rest, and saw a young man pretending to browse his phone but actually keeping his gaze on a beautiful lady in the car...

At this moment, Zhou Wang realized that without those halos, he actually didn’t have as many spectators.

Though his outstanding appearance and temperament drew some girls’ attention, most people lived in their own worlds, with only themselves as their ’main characters.’

Zhou Wang, used to being the center of focus, surprisingly enjoyed the current moment, as if he had rejoined the ordinary crowd, experiencing a rare sense of tranquility hidden in the mundane.

Only a vibrating phone soon pulled him back to his own ”reality.”

”Mr. Zhou, um... Miss Jiang saw everything just now. She seems very angry... Please, please don’t tell her I told you this, begging you (pitiful.gif).”

Seeing the message from Xu Lingyue on WeChat, Zhou Wang couldn’t help but feel a headache.

He had just noticed that when Ding Yi and Xia Xiwei were in a tug-of-war, it was Xiao Wang who called, intending to remind him that Jiang Qingkui had ’quietly’ returned...

Damn, what a mess!

Just dealing with Ding Yi and Xia Xiwei was tiring enough for Zhou Wang. Adding Jiang Qingkui would only turn things into a tangled mess.

Zhou Wang didn’t know what to do, but it seemed he could only take it easy...

After all, although he was temporarily escaping reality, he couldn’t hide forever.

Tonight at the banquet, the three women would eventually meet, and who knows what chaos might ensue.

Zhou Wang was utterly exhausted...

But looking at it from another angle, whether it was Ding Yi, Xia Xiwei, or Jiang Qingkui, each was an exceptionally beautiful woman. An ordinary person having one of them would be a dream come true, and now the three women were vying in a way for him. This seemed like a fortunate trouble to have.

”I’m still awesome.”

Thinking in this self-motivating manner, Zhou Wang couldn’t help but smile.

Ding dong!

At this moment, Zhou Wang’s phone buzzed again.

Thinking it was another message from Xu Lingyue, he glanced down and raised an eyebrow.

The message was from his bodyguard, Gao Xing.

Since Zhou Wang had gotten on the subway, Gao Xing, who was responsible for his personal safety, naturally followed, only Zhou Wang didn’t see him.

But Zhou Wang was accustomed to Gao Xing’s ”here one moment, gone the next” presence and found it quite comforting. It meant he could do anything without feeling awkward, so he never demanded Gao Xing to appear within his line of sight.

The ’out in the open’ and ’in the dark’ coordination between Gao Xing and Xiao Wang seemed like some tacit understanding they had reached, essentially providing Zhou Wang with double protection.

But Zhou Wang was puzzled at this moment; if Gao Xing had something to say, why didn’t he address him directly instead of using messages?

Upon opening the message, Zhou Wang’s expression immediately turned serious.

”Mr. Zhou, someone is stalking you. It seems to have started at the airport. I just confirmed this.”

Stalking?

Such a niche term that seems only found in movies instantly heightened Zhou Wang’s vigilance.

The previous incident at BSK seemed like a joke, but it was Zhou Wang’s first encounter with an ’assassination.’ Now encountering ’stalking,’ he couldn’t help but make some unpleasant connections.

Could it be that woman, Gao Xuelan?

”Who is it?”

Zhou Wang sent the message as he inconspicuously observed the people around him.

The subway car was quite crowded, with Zhou Wang leaning in a corner. After surveying the area, what he saw were the same old people: elderly couples, students, commuters...

Zhou Wang couldn’t discern anything unusual.
