The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 1229: Chapter 468: A Proper Person’s Diary

November 1, 2024.

Light rain, strong wind.

Today’s mood is just so-so.

When the alarm of the memo went off last night, I realized what day it was... No wonder Qi Jiayi hasn’t shown up for two days.

Under the pretext of having an urgent job, I learned Qi Jiayi’s address from the unknowing Zhong Huilan.

This woman... actually sneaked off to a hotel room without telling me.

Heaven knows, I just want to help her, how can she avoid me?

So with the attitude of ”curing the ill and saving lives,” I eagerly (crossed out) hurriedly rushed to the Peace Hotel where she booked a room, only to find nothing.

Only today did I learn that Qi Jiayi had booked two rooms, and she only told Zhong Huilan the room next door’s address as a precaution.

Clearly, she anticipated my anticipation and knew Zhong Huilan would definitely tell me her address, so she held back one move.

Alright, alright, this woman is actually guarding against me like this, I just want to ask one question...

Where’s the basic trust between people?

November 2, 2024.

The rain has stopped, but the weather is still gloomy.

After my morning workout, I strolled to the entrance of the community and met Guo Nansheng, who was setting up his stall, and chatted with him nostalgically for over an hour, and bought a few bags of roasted chestnuts for Linlin.

Actually, I still don’t quite understand why he insists on not taking my investment, is he really planning to start from scratch with such a small stall?

Although on a good day, it can bring in seven or eight hundred bucks, I don’t think he’ll be satisfied with that.

But he seems to enjoy it, and I can’t persuade him, so I can only let him be.

I remember Mr. Li at the Waldorf Club once said that the Jiangnan Guo Family collapsed overnight, but to this day, nobody knows whom they offended.

I always feel there’s more to this incident, so I’ve asked Lin Feng from Tyrant Security to keep an eye on it, maybe there will be some results in a while...

November 4, 2024.

The weather has finally cleared up.

Today is a day of running around for social connections.

At noon, I had a casual meal with Wang Shang, the boss located in the core area of Magic City, who is also Xia Xiwei’s second uncle.

The Secretary Ge, whom I met before, was not present. Wang Shang didn’t mention where he went, and I didn’t ask; it seemed to form a sort of unspoken understanding.

But I can guess, the end for that Secretary Ge is probably not good...

My appearance was just a reminder, making Wang Shang aware that Secretary Ge was using his name outside, probably receiving various benefits; even without my intervention, he wouldn’t tolerate Secretary Ge smearing his reputation any longer.

Overall, the meal was relaxed and enjoyable, except I realized that my second uncle is rather gossipy, persistently asking about how I know Xia Xiwei.

Actually, I understand, he is subtly pushing for marriage, after all, their family has always been concerned about Xia Xiwei’s marriage. But I can only play dumb and dare not reveal the truth.

God knows if my second uncle found out that Xia Xiwei and I are just partners in an act, whether he would still be that friendly to me...

In the afternoon, I couldn’t resist He Jinglun’s repeated invitations and finally came to a private port at the Huangpu River to board the yacht he gave me, which I haven’t accepted yet.

As I expected, the yacht He Jinglun gave me was the top brand ”Benetti” that Xu Wenqian once took a liking to, an ultra-luxury yacht officially priced around two hundred million.

With three levels and a hull over 40 meters long, it has far surpassed the general sense of a yacht, more like ”a large amusement park on the sea.”

The luxury of the internal facilities... Well, from my current perspective, it’s not all that luxurious, but what’s more important is that this yacht is brand new.

A two-billion apology gift, of course, I wouldn’t easily accept it, but He Jinglun was extremely persistent. After a round of intense bargaining, we agreed that I would purchase this almost-new second-hand yacht at one-third of the original price.

Meanwhile, he will additionally provide me with two free berths and a professional yacht maintenance team.

However, having to come up with sixty million in cash at once is clearly a pressure for me. But He Jinglun just kept saying there’s no hurry, so we agreed to pay off the amount in installments within a year.

This means, aside from the social debt, I owe him a small favor too.

That’s generally how things work in this world, so I don’t dwell on it, expressing that tonight I’ll visit Guo Wangshan and invite him along.

That’s what he was waiting to hear from me, and he happily agreed immediately.

In the evening, as promised, I arrived at the Guo Family.

Not Guo Nansheng’s Guo Family, but Guo Bing’s Guo Family.

I finally met with Brother Guo, Guo Wangshan, flanked by He Jinglun, and Shao Xiaoqi, who came from another province, along with his mother, Luo Meiling.

I must say, as a formidable figure of the famed Guo Group in Magic City and a nominee for an invisible billionaire, Brother Guo’s image is quite unlike what I imagined.

His attire leans heavily toward denim style, and he seems to have a tattoo on his arm... but that’s normal, as the Guo Family has been wealthy for three generations, and young Brother Guo probably lived quite the life.

Anyways, this led to us having a lot in common.

I know that after this meal, it means that the Wangyuan Commerce I’m about to establish in Magic City has acquired three founding members.

Guo Group, He Group, and Shao Xiaoqi’s mother Luo Meiling’s Meiling Liquor.
