The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

For a moment, everyone’s attention was drawn to that bank card.

“Holy crap, Zixi, do you really have five million?”

Li Cheng had the biggest reaction.

In the days before the lottery jackpot overflowed, five million was equivalent to a first prize and enough to elevate an ordinary person to a higher class.

“Damn it, why didn’t I know Brother Dog back then? Otherwise, I would have invested a little too…”

Yang Hao was regretting not meeting Zhou Wang’s Ah Hui until later, now pounding his chest in frustration.

“I did know Brother Dog early on, but when he started his business, I didn’t have fifty thousand…”

Li Cheng said helplessly.

“Wow, Liu Zixi, now you can buy a car and a house right away, congrats!”

Cheng Yiyi grinned and raised her glass to Liu Zixi.

No one doubted the authenticity.

Given everything Zhou Wang had displayed, he had no need to joke about something like this. After all, just this house alone was worth more than a few five millions.

“Brother Dog, this is…”

Liu Zixi’s expression was the most complex, and for a moment, he didn’t know what to say.

Xie Yuying also remained silent, just looking back and forth between Liu Zixi and Zhou Wang, seemingly lost in thought.

Eventually, under Zhou Wang’s urging, Liu Zixi went ahead and put the bank card away.

After this little episode, the atmosphere at the table returned to normal.

Once dinner was over, even Zhou Wang was about seventy percent drunk, and everyone moved to the karaoke room to continue the party.

The house being big had its perks; if feeling lazy, you could have an all-in-one entertainment at home…

Later on, somehow, everyone ended up moving to the garden, where they opened the last chat session over some beer.

Zhou Wang couldn’t resist and had Chen Mei find a guitar to sing a few songs for everyone.

According to incomplete statistics, out of every ten boys, three to four have either tried or attempted to master the guitar…

But most of them gave up halfway.

Zhou Wang was better, managing to see it through, and in his freshman and sophomore years, he was a key member of the guitar club, although he later neglected it.

Interestingly, the first skill that Jiang Mo’s Soul Greeting Card revealed was “piano.”

Since Zhou Wang had some foundation, the skill book, consumed under the influence of alcohol, brought back quite a bit of music theory knowledge, making his guitar playing even better than before.

As for the piano, Zhou Wang didn’t touch it, even though there was one in the apartment—he found it too pretentious; among friends, it wasn’t necessary…

“Forgive me, this duck-born eighth brother, love chicken waist in the wind, duck end afraid to bite, grit out, oh oh…”

The party finally ended with a hodgepodge Cantonese song, accompanied by heckling, after which Zhou Wang passed out.

In his blurry state, it seemed that Cheng Yiyi supported him, even teased him about his non-standard Cantonese in his ear, then he collapsed into Cheng Yiyi’s arms.

He only remembered the firmness of the white snowy mountains, accompanied by a fragrant scent, then lost consciousness.

As the main target of drinking that night, Zhou Wang drank way too much, starting with white liquor, then cocktails, and finally draft beer. Holding out until the end was indeed remarkable.

…

The next morning, Zhou Wang awoke much later than usual.

When he opened his eyes on the soft big bed, it was already past 10 a.m.

Staring at the artfully patterned ceiling, Zhou Wang shook his head. Who would have thought that on his first night sleeping in his own home, he’d drink himself unconscious?

Remembering the last scene before blacking out, Zhou Wang sat up, glanced at the empty surroundings, and breathed a sigh of relief.

Although he didn’t mind something happening between him and Cheng Yiyi, he didn’t want it to be while drunk…

Chasing solitary happiness with alcohol could be a good thing, but it’s best not to mix it with anything else, as issues could easily arise.

But Zhou Wang looked at his pajamas, trying hard to recall if he had any memory of changing clothes.

He picked up his phone, noticing the latest message was from Chen Mei, asking him to contact her once he woke up. As for the others, they were quiet, only Yu Peipei had sent him a message saying “she and Li Cheng had safely arrived home.”

Just as Zhou Wang was dialing Chen Mei’s number, the sound of the phone rang faintly from outside, and soon, Chen Mei’s voice came from outside the door.

“Mr. Zhou, are you awake?”

“Come in.” Zhou Wang paused, then replied.

The master bedroom door opened, and a fully dressed Chen Mei came in, carrying a cup of hot drink.

“You… didn’t leave last night?” Zhou Wang asked, a bit surprised.

“Yes, I was worried you might need something in the middle of the night, so I stayed over. I slept in the nanny’s room. Do you mind, Mr. Zhou?” Chen Mei asked with a hint of nervousness.

“Of course not, thank you.” Zhou Wang shook his head and rubbed his temples, “Did you help me change my pajamas?”

“Yes, your clothes reeked of alcohol, so I helped change them.” Chen Mei replied, her face blushing a bit.
