The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Although Chen Mei found chefs from nearby mid-to-high-end restaurants who weren’t bad, they definitely weren’t as exquisite as “Cloud Residence.” Zhou Wang had an excellent impression the last time he ate there, feeling it was the best local cuisine experience he’d had.

He just hadn’t expected that when he simply borrowed a chef, Chen Shu would also come in person.

“I’ve tried to meet you so many times but you never had the time. So when you finally requested something, Mr. Zhou, I had to make sure you were well taken care of.”

Chen Shu smiled coyly. “Speaking of which, if it weren’t for this visit, I wouldn’t have known that Xiao Mei is your personal housekeeper.”

“You know each other?”

Zhou Wang was quite surprised.

He glanced at Chen Mei, then at Chen Shu, and realized they really did have some resemblance. When he suggested Chen Mei as the property manager, it was partly because he found her appearance approachable.

“Xiao Mei is my cousin, we grew up together. Isn’t that quite a coincidence?”

“I never expected, Mr. Zhou, that you had already met my cousin before. I was still thinking about when to introduce the two of you…”

Chen Mei added with a smile.

“It really is quite a coincidence. As they say, sometimes the world is quite small…”

Zhou Wang reflected a bit, then glanced a bit awkwardly at Chen Shu. “It’s already mealtime, borrowing your head chef is one thing, but having you make the trip as well, isn’t your restaurant business being delayed by me?”

“It’s alright, the guests aren’t too many today. But… if you feel guilty, Mr. Zhou, remember to support my business more next time!”

Chen Shu laughed lightly, radiating a charming allure almost effortlessly.

What Zhou Wang didn’t know was that Chen Shu came in person largely because of the address Zhou Wang had sent.

Being part of this circle herself, how could Chen Shu not know what 7001 of the Spring Eye Subtower signified…

The interesting part was that just yesterday, some Yalong Real Estate executives were gathering at “Cloud Residence,” talking about how the top-floor apartment at Spring Eye, personally reserved by their chairman, had already been bought by a young man…

Chen Shu just hadn’t expected that the young man with significant background they spoke of was actually Zhou Wang, whom Zhang Zhiyuan had introduced to her.

Otherwise, for just borrowing a chef, would Chen Shu come personally?

“No problem, Sister Shu, does your place have a membership card? I’ll top it up right now!”

Zhou Wang half-jokingly commented, then waved his hand and added, “Also, don’t call me Mr. Zhou anymore, it feels too weird, like we’re in some period drama…”

“Hmm, how about I call you ‘Brother Wang’? Would that be okay?”

Chen Shu’s eyes sparkled as she suggested.

Zhou Wang had no objections, actually finding the nickname quite interesting, as it conveyed warmth and familiarity across age differences. It sounded like something from northern areas, though he couldn’t pinpoint exactly where.

After the pleasantries, Zhou Wang introduced Chen Shu to his friends.

In fact, Li Cheng, Liu Zixi, and others didn’t really have an idea about private chefs. What truly surprised them was that the chef Chen Shu brought along was a former master chef at the Peace Hotel in Magic City.

Chen Shu chatted with Zhou Wang for a while, then gave a meaningful glance at Cheng Yiyi, whose face looked displeased, before excusing herself to the kitchen to help out.

With two chefs working together, plus help from Chen Shu and Chen Mei, a table full of dishes was prepared in no time.

Once everyone was seated, Chen Shu took this moment to say farewell.

“Sister Shu, are you really not going to eat with us?”

“I’m not one to stand on ceremony, but since it’s your friends’ gathering, I won’t join in…”

Chen Shu shook her head and smiled.

“Alright then, thank you so much for today. I’ll visit ‘Cloud Residence’ to thank you personally someday.”

Zhou Wang didn’t press any further.

“Oh, right, here’s something… It’s nothing big, just consider it a housewarming gift.”

At that moment, Chen Shu remembered and handed Zhou Wang a gift bag from beside her. “Inside are two bottles of wine, just a little token.”

“No, that’s too valuable, I can’t accept it. How about you just send me a red packet on WeChat instead!”

Seeing the Maotai logo, Zhou Wang quickly declined.

“Take it, don’t worry, I won’t suffer a loss, I’ve made quite a bit with you today!”

Chen Shu smiled gently, “Besides, these enamel Maotai bottles don’t sell well. They’d just be collecting dust at the shop, so don’t be picky taking them as gifts for you!”

“Alright… then I’ll take it, thank you!”

Seeing Chen Shu’s insistence, Zhou Wang didn’t continue to refuse.

Even though young people might find traditional gift exchanges tedious, it undeniably remained the best way to quickly build connections…

And to think this meal wasn’t exactly cheap, with the ingredients plus service charge totaling fifty thousand.

Once Zhou Wang accepted the gift, Chen Shu moved a little closer before leaving, seemingly adjusting his cuff effortlessly.
