The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Zhou Wang sniffed the lingering citrus-like fragrance on his cuff and couldn’t help but chuckle.

So this was his sister’s trick?

Not overly obvious, yet enough to spark a bit of imagination…

Upon returning to the table, Zhou Wang decided to put away the Flying Moutai he had prepared earlier. The wine brought by Chen Shu had to be better than ordinary Flying Moutai, so he simply chose to drink that instead.

Placing the bottle on the table, Li Cheng immediately recognized it at a glance.

“Whoa, big shot moves! Even the special edition colored glaze Moutai is out!”

“How much does this wine cost?”

Liu Zixi asked curiously.

“Over four thousand bucks. It’s a bit of an oddball in the Moutai lineup. This is the only Moutai whose actual price is slightly lower than the suggested retail price.”

Li Cheng, who had gained some knowledge from his dad, explained with a laugh.

“Still pretty expensive! Flying Moutai is only around two or three grand, right? I’ve tried countless times on JD to snag one at retail price but never succeeded.”

Ah Hui replied with a bit of frustration.

“Who cares about the price—let’s drink!”

Zhou Wang wasn’t about to waste time bickering. He grabbed the wine dispenser and poured a jug for everyone.

The girls, on the other hand, could choose whatever they wanted—be it wine or soft drinks.

“Holy crap, are you trying to knock us out or what!?”

Li Cheng, the one with the weakest tolerance for alcohol, turned slightly pale as he stared at the full jug sitting in front of him.

“Today is both Zixi’s welcome dinner and sort of my housewarming party. What’s the matter? Don’t tell me you’re going to play the ‘I’m allergic to alcohol’ card again.”

Zhou Wang smirked coldly. “Last time, when you got drunk, you confessed to us that you were lying all along…”

“Did I really?”

Li Cheng knew he couldn’t wriggle his way out of this one. Resigned, he steeled himself and decided to go all-in. He raised his glass first and declared, “Well then, Brother Dog, as the host tonight, let me toast you first!”

Zhou Wang wasn’t a heavy drinker, but with Liu Zixi and Ah Hui also eyeing him eagerly, he wasn’t about to back down.

It had been a long time since Zhou Wang last let himself go and got drunk…

Material pleasures certainly offered their own allure, but in life, the joys of the spirit weren’t entirely tied to material things.

At least when it came to “sharing drinks with true friends,” the fun was the same—whether it was Moutai or cheap liquor.

After a few rounds of drinks, it was the usual time for deeper conversations. An already tipsy Li Cheng seemed to have a bit of an argument with Yu Peipei beside him. Although the voices were somewhat restrained, Zhou Wang—who still hadn’t completely lost his clarity—noticed it early on.

“Peipei, is there something on your mind?”

Zhou Wang proactively asked with a smile. “We’re all classmates here, no need to keep things bottled up. Just say it straight.”

Yu Peipei ignored Li Cheng’s helpless look, picked up her glass of red wine and toasted Zhou Wang first. Then, she said with a grin, “Fine, I’ll just say it. Li Cheng is too embarrassed to bring it up himself…”

“What’s causing him so much trouble—don’t tell me it’s about borrowing money!”

Zhou Wang joked.

“Pretty much.”

“Oh?”

Surprised, Zhou Wang didn’t expect Yu Peipei to actually nod. He asked in curiosity, “What’s going on? How much does he need?”

“Technically it’s borrowing money, but not exactly. Here’s the thing—Li Cheng isn’t about to start at the bank? Although his dad pulled some strings and it’s not too big of a hassle, if he joins with capital, his starting point will undoubtedly be higher.”

Yu Peipei elaborated, “So I thought, could you spare some idle cash to help Li Cheng out? After all, putting your money in any bank is just a deposit. The interest rate definitely won’t shortchange you.”

“I see. I thought it was something more serious!”

Zhou Wang chuckled. “How much are we talking about?”

“Three to five million should be enough. Of course, if it’s closer to ten million, that’d be even better.”

Zhou Wang mulled over it briefly. This wasn’t actually a big deal; for instance, Jiang Mo’s funds alone could easily cover it by simply opening a separate account.

However, Peipei’s proposal gave Zhou Wang an idea for solving another matter conveniently.

He had been thinking that the matter might be a bit awkward to raise, but Peipei had just handed him the perfect opening.

“Of course, no problem.”

So Zhou Wang responded with a smile first. “But honestly, if a few million is enough, you might not even need to ask me.”

“Who else then?” Li Cheng blinked in confusion.

“Zixi, of course!”

Zhou Wang gestured toward Liu Zixi. “He’s got it too.”

“What?”

Startled, Li Cheng turned to Liu Zixi in shock. “No way, Zixi, you’ve been hiding your wealth and playing dumb all this time?!”

At this moment, not only was Liu Zixi somewhat stunned, but even Xie Yuying and Cheng Yiyi—who had been quietly chatting nearby—looked over in surprise.

“Don’t you remember? Ages ago, I borrowed fifty thousand yuan from you, and we invested it in blockchain together. At the time, when I told you it went bad, it really did go bad. But now, that investment resurrected itself. Care to guess how many times your money multiplied?”
