Zhou Wang was somewhat surprised, but he could more or less understand why Xu Wenqian asked like that.

“How did you respond?” Zhou Wang asked with interest.

“I said, it’s not that women only have to be flirty for men to like them, it’s…if you are flirty, more men might like you.”

Sun Yi blushed and said softly.

“That makes some sense.”

...

Zhou Wang nodded in agreement; at least Sun Yi herself understood this theory quite well.

“So what did she say?”

“She didn’t respond to me, she hung up after a moment of silence.”

Sun Yi said helplessly, “I’m very worried about her, because this doesn’t sound like a question Qianqian would ask… back in the dorms, even just a few dirty jokes would make her blush.”

“I don’t think there’s anything to worry about. We’re all adults; we know what we should and shouldn’t do. Everyone is responsible for their own lives.”

Zhou Wang shrugged.

“Mr. Zhou, do all kids from wealthy families mature so quickly?”

Sun Yi couldn’t help but ask, “You don’t seem like you just graduated college…”

“It’s not about maturing quickly. As long as you have a normal understanding, even at eighteen, you pretty much understand what you need to. The only difference might be… whether you can handle everything with ease?”

Zhou Wang spread his hands, “The only place I might be luckier than others is that I have more confidence.”

“Pfft, that’s quite pretentious, though it doesn’t sound annoying when you say it.”

Sun Yi chuckled.

At this point, Hua Suisui’s performance was over. She got off the stage and hurried backstage with Shi Yi, not in any rush to do anything.

“Qianqian probably had another fight with Cheng Zhe, her fiancé. I even asked Cheng Zhe, but he stammered and couldn’t explain it.”

Sun Yi remembered something and said angrily, “Mr. Zhou, let me tell you, I’ve never seen such an incompetent boyfriend. Once, when Qianqian had menstrual cramps, I had to take a day off temporarily to care for her, and Cheng Zhe was nowhere to be seen all day…”

Zhou Wang made no comment, just listened as Sun Yi continued to complain.

After another twenty minutes, with the last small celebrity leaving the stage, the event was almost over. Zhou Wang saw the important guests in the front row beginning to leave.

“Let’s go.”

Zhou Wang withdrew his gaze.

Sun Yi nodded, about to speak when a middle-aged man in a suit suddenly walked over from the other side, frowning.

“Sun Yi, why aren’t you helping backstage? What are you doing here?”

“Our leader… wait a moment.”

Seeing the middle-aged man, Sun Yi’s expression became unnatural. She whispered to Zhou Wang before walking over.

“Supervisor Qian, that’s a former client of mine. He came to the celebration, so I was just hosting him.”

“Is it a client or a boyfriend?”

The middle-aged man glanced suspiciously at Zhou Wang in the distance, gave him a fake smile, then said to Sun Yi, “Hurry up and get to work, there’s still a lot to wrap up.”

“Supervisor, can I take some time off? The client has more questions to consult with me…”

“Don’t you know how important today’s event is? Any other matters should wait.”

Supervisor Qian frowned, “Explain to your client and come quickly.”

There was an unmistakable tone of finality in his voice.

“But…”

“There’s no ‘but.’ You’ve already missed important meetings and events this month several times. Do you know why you’re the only one whose incentives haven’t been issued?”

At the mention of “incentives,” Sun Yi’s expression changed, and she seemed somewhat angry.

“Supervisor, what do you mean? Is there a causal relationship between whether or not I miss work and whether I should receive my incentives?”

“I didn’t say there’s a relationship, but think it through yourself.”

Supervisor Qian sneered, “I’m giving you five more minutes. Think about the consequences if you’re not backstage by then.”

“You…”

Sun Yi wanted to argue, but Supervisor Qian had already turned and left.

When Sun Yi came back, Zhou Wang saw her looking upset and asked, “What happened?”

“Nothing, let’s get going… Oh, Mr. Zhou, where are you headed to?”

Sun Yi forced a smile.

Zhou Wang pointed to the “Spring Eye” subtower. As they walked side by side towards it, Zhou Wang finally said, “I think we’re halfway friends now. You can speak directly with me.”

“Do I have to complete a dungeon for you to consider me your ‘one friend’?”

Sun Yi looked at Zhou Wang half-complaining, half-joking, “I’ve invited you twice, and you haven’t replied…”

“Ahem, that’s unrelated!”

Suddenly run over by Sun Yi’s remark, Zhou Wang could only cough awkwardly.

“Just kidding!”

Sun Yi lightly punched Zhou Wang, pursing her lips before speaking, “I’ll just vent a bit to you, although I feel like you definitely won’t understand the hardships of us workers…”

“I’ll try my best.”

“Hate it, you’re pretending again.”

Sun Yi was feeling much more comfortable around Zhou Wang by now, letting out a laugh.

“It’s all about the unspoken office rules… Well, I’m no great beauty, but I’ve got some looks. Our supervisor is just lusting after my body, and since I won’t let him succeed, he targets me constantly—it’s not the first or second time!”

“Uh, for salespeople like you, it should primarily be about performance, right?”

Zhou Wang didn’t have the opportunity to work at a full-time job, but he had done many part-time jobs before, so he understood some basic things.

“That’s what they say, but the boss always has ways to give you a hard time, like handing out laborious but thankless tasks or giving good client resources to others… Otherwise, with my ability, there’s no way I wouldn’t have closed a deal in two months!”

“So what about this ‘incentive’ I overheard?”

“You heard that?”

Sun Yi wasn’t surprised. After all, her voice had gotten a bit loud when she was agitated earlier.

“I made that ‘Cui Lake Yipin’ deal, right? According to company policy, aside from the commission I should earn, there should also be an additional bonus incentive, which is supposed to be given out immediately. But I haven’t received it yet…”

“Is it a lot of money?”

Hearing Sun Yi’s explanation, Zhou Wang nodded and asked.

“Not a lot, just a couple thousand. It’s just really frustrating.”

“Got it.”

Zhou Wang didn’t ask more.

At this point, the two had reached the entrance of the Spring Eye subtower. Only now did Sun Yi remember to ask, “Oh, Mr. Zhou, what are we here to do again?”

“Pick up the house.”

Zhou Wang stood under the subtower, looking up.

Although the subtower wasn’t as ridiculously tall as the main tower’s 407 meters, it still reached 308 meters. Zhou Wang couldn’t see where his top-floor apartment was from there.

“You bought an apartment here too?”

Sun Yi was initially surprised but quickly calmed down.

Considering the car Zhou Wang drove was worth over ten million, buying an apartment here didn’t seem like a big deal.

Although Sun Yi was dying of envy inside—as a real estate consultant in the sales department of Yalong Real Estate, she was very familiar with these high-end luxury apartments personally developed by the group company.

The smallest unit was over 300 square meters; coupled with its unique location, it was simply the stuff of dreams.

“Yeah, though I bought it, this is my first time here, so please lead the way.”

“Pfft, who buys a house and comes to see it afterward?”

Sun Yi was amused again, “A house worth over ten million, and you don’t even pay attention!”

“Since the price is set here, it shouldn’t be that bad. I mainly fancy the location.”

Zhou Wang, not knowing how to explain, could only continue with an air of nonchalance.

“True… All the fully furnished units I’ve seen are beyond my reach, and the two large residences on the top floor are even more astounding. I can’t even imagine what kind of person could live there. I sneaked a peek once, so jealous it hurt!”

“Let’s go.”

Hearing Sun Yi’s envious sighs, Zhou Wang didn’t know how to respond.

“Okay!”

Sun Yi led Zhou Wang into the apartment entrance, heading straight for the first floor’s property service center.

In the property center, a woman in office wear was coming their way, and Sun Yi immediately greeted her enthusiastically, “Sister Chen!”

“Xiao Yi?”

The woman known as Sister Chen smiled, “How come you have time to visit here?”

“I’m here to assist a client in picking up a house, Sister Chen. This is Mr. Zhou… Mr. Zhou, Sister Chen is the assistant manager of the ‘Spring Eye’ apartment property center. You can talk to her about collecting your house.”

At Sun Yi’s introduction, Sister Chen’s expression turned serious and quickly approached Zhou Wang to shake hands.

“Mr. Zhou, hello, I’m Chen Mei, the deputy manager of the property division, thrilled to be at your service. This way, please.”

Unsure of where exactly she was headed, Chen Mei changed course to lead Zhou Wang and Sun Yi into the guest room.

“Mr. Zhou, please may I have your ID card?”

After obtaining Zhou Wang’s ID card, Chen Mei called an employee over from outside to retrieve Zhou Wang’s purchasing documents while she sat down to prepare tea for them.

“Manager Chen, isn’t your property center’s Manager Wang here today?”

Zhou Wang casually asked then.

Seeing the diligent property center, Zhou Wang was almost certain that Manager Wang was not truthful earlier about having to wait till after one to be seen.

“Did you have an appointment with Manager Wang?”

Chen Mei seemed confused.

“Something like that. I’m curious about his whereabouts.” Zhou Wang smiled.

“I think Manager Wang is hosting another client. Maybe I could call him…”

Chen Mei was about to pull out her phone but was stopped by Zhou Wang.

“No need, it should be fine with you handling things too, right?”

“Of course, rest assured.”

Chen Mei smiled and was about to continue with the tea when the employee who took Zhou Wang’s ID returned, glanced at Zhou Wang, and hurried over to Chen Mei, whispering something.

Clang!

Chen Mei’s hand jerked, the teacup in her hand shaking as she abruptly stood up, nervously and slightly at a loss, asked Zhou Wang, “Mr. Zhou, you… are you the owner of 7002?”

Next to her, Sun Yi was initially puzzled, unsure why Sister Chen reacted this way, until she connected the dots.

The Spring Eye subtower had only 71 floors, and from floor 70, there were only two households, 7002 meant…oh my gosh!

“You…you bought the one on the top floor?”

Sun Yi stared blankly at Zhou Wang.

“Hmm, now you should know what kind of person lives there, right?”

Zhou Wang winked at her.
