Thinking about what she had just said, Sun Yi blushed a little.

Luckily, she hadn’t said anything particularly unpleasant, otherwise it would have been extremely awkward.

“I’m so sorry, Mr. Zhou, I didn’t know it was you, and I didn’t have time to prepare any welcome ceremony… Manager Wang told me that you wouldn’t arrive until the afternoon.”

At that moment, after confirming Zhou Wang’s identity, Chen Mei’s attitude was no longer natural, and she kept apologizing.

For an ordinary customer, Chen Mei’s reception would have been adequate, but to Zhou Wang, who was equivalent to purchasing the “Tower King,” this treatment was somewhat lacking.

“He did tell me to come in the afternoon, saying there was no time to receive me in the morning.”

...

Zhou Wang smiled.

Hearing this, Chen Mei felt a sudden jolt in her heart.

What nonsense was Old Wang talking?

No time?

Zhou Wang’s guess was not wrong. With a customer of his level, how could it be necessary to cooperate with their schedule…

No need to mention morning or afternoon—if Zhou Wang had said he was only free at 3 a.m., the entire property management center would have to work a night shift with a smile!

Chen Mei suddenly realized there was something fishy going on, but she wasn’t sure what Old Wang’s situation was.

“Manager Chen, so do I have to wait here until the afternoon?”

Zhou Wang took a sip of tea and calmly asked.

“Of course not, I will handle the procedures for you right now.”

Chen Mei snapped back to reality and hurriedly responded.

“Then go ahead.”

Zhou Wang nodded, and under Chen Mei’s arrangement, the whole property management center sprang into action with a significant lineup.

Chen Mei quickly brought Zhou Wang’s home purchase documents, including the apartment’s sales contract, proof of the property management fee payment, a thick Residential Quality and User Manual, and a small metal briefcase with a combination lock.

It was also through Chen Mei’s explanation that Zhou Wang learned the system had already prepaid three years’ worth of property management fees for him.

The most outrageous part was that the property management fee here was as high as 18.88 per square meter…

Calculating according to the size of Zhou Wang’s apartment, excluding other maintenance costs, the monthly property management fee alone would be thirty-five thousand.

Which means, if Zhou Wang were an ordinary person, even if he managed to get such an apartment for free, without the option to sell it, he would simply not afford to live in it.

“And what’s this?”

Zhou Wang curiously asked upon seeing the metal briefcase.

“Mr. Zhou, this is the ‘Black Box’ of your home, and it’s also a symbol of your status as the homeowner. It contains spare keys and the central control of your smart home. In addition, important management information, including your private elevator, is also recorded in it…”

Chen Mei explained while opening the briefcase with the initial password, showing Zhou Wang the keys, USB drive, access card, and remote control inside.

Zhou Wang was quite amazed, as he had only heard of airplanes having “Black Boxes,” not that high-end apartments had them too.

“Manager Chen, if I’m not mistaken, isn’t there a set of keys missing inside?”

As Chen Mei continued explaining, Zhou Wang suddenly interrupted.

Chen Mei paused and looked down, indeed finding a few slots visibly empty…

“Mr. Zhou, this…”

Chen Mei’s expression changed, and she quickly stood up, saying, “I’m not sure what’s going on yet. Please wait a moment while I verify.”

“I don’t think it’s necessary. You should be more aware than I am about who else has the authority to handle this Black Box except for you, right?”

Zhou Wang stood up, “Let’s go, show me my house.”

Chen Mei bit her lip and quickly nodded, “Okay, I’ll take you up.”

Just before Zhou Wang was about to leave, he paused and said without looking back, “Manager Chen, I want to see the real situation. You understand what I mean, right?”

Hearing Zhou Wang’s words, Chen Mei, who was trailing behind him, nearly dropped her phone in shock.

“Okay, okay, don’t worry!”

While responding, Chen Mei also canceled the contact page displaying “Wang Chunsheng” on her phone.

But realizing that this matter could escalate seriously, she didn’t dare to do nothing, quickly whispering to the female employee behind her, instructing her to find someone higher up immediately.

Guided by Chen Mei, the three of them entered the private elevator that went directly to the 70th floor.

Sun Yi, who was beside Zhou Wang, secretly looked up at him. Wanting to say something, she held back. Although Zhou Wang’s expression seemed calm, he gave Sun Yi an inexplicable sense of pressure.

Chen Mei felt it even more so, standing straighter while praying that Old Wang wouldn’t go too far.

In her position, she hoped for Old Wang’s misfortune, but there was a saying about “the city gate catches fire, the fish in the moat suffer”…

In Chen Mei’s torment, the elevator finally stopped at the 70th floor. Just outside the door was a garden, or to be precise, the private garden of number 7002.

And at that moment, the three of them heard faint voices from the rooftop above.

Someone was indeed up there!

And from the sound, it seemed to be more than just one or two people.

“Mr. Zhou, this…”

“You two wait here for a moment, I’ll go up and have a look.”

Zhou Wang waved his hand to interrupt her and walked up the stairs in the garden.

Chen Mei could only stand there helplessly with Sun Yi. The fact was right in front of them; it was most likely Old Wang on the rooftop. At this point, even she couldn’t handle it and could only wait for the company’s higher management to arrive.

…

On the rooftop of the 71st floor, when Zhou Wang arrived, he first glanced at the surrounding view.

This rooftop at the top of the Spring Eye Subtower, besides a leisure area surrounded by plants, also featured an infinity pool and a small observatory. There was even a telescope set up.

Looking out from here, the whole of Ming City lay out like small mountains. If it weren’t for there being too many “irrelevant people” on the rooftop, Zhou Wang thought he’d be in a great mood.

But the fact was, apart from him, there were three other groups of people on the rooftop.

By the infinity pool, one person was holding a reflector, another photographer was crouched at the poolside, and inside the pool, a girl with the standard influencer look, wearing only a bikini, was striking a variety of poses.

That was one group.

Next to the pool, a middle-aged man in a suit with a badge on his chest was standing with his arms crossed. The uniform, similar in style to Chen Mei’s, hinted at his identity.

He was likely Wang Chunsheng, the manager with whom Zhou Wang had been in contact from the Spring Eye apartment’s property center.

He was another group.

And then, standing at the edge of the rooftop closer to Zhou Wang’s position, were three women with their backs to him.

Among them were two he recognized—

“Lin Jie, how much longer do we have to wait?”

Shi Yi asked restlessly while holding a camera, “It’s almost noon, the light is too harsh, and the photos won’t turn out well.”

“Yeah, what’s Manager Wang doing? My makeup is almost melting, and we won’t get any good shots!”

Hua Suisui pouted with dissatisfaction.

“I’ve already urged him, let’s just wait a bit longer.”

Hua Suisui’s agent, Lin Ran, was also somewhat helpless, “He didn’t mention yesterday that there would be other people shooting too.”

“But this is too ridiculous. That influencer has been shooting for almost half an hour, hasn’t she? I don’t believe she paid more for the location than we did.”

Shi Yi complained.

“How much did you pay?” Zhou Wang suddenly asked quietly as he approached.

“Eighty thousand—uh?”

Shi Yi instinctively answered, then all three were startled.

“Zhou Wang, why… why are you here?”

Shi Yi and Hua Suisui were a bit dumbfounded to see the man suddenly appear behind them.

“Hello, we meet again. You just said you paid eighty thousand for the location fee. Did you give the money to Manager Wang?”

Zhou Wang greeted them and then asked.

“Who are you?”

Before Shi Yi and Hua Suisui could respond, Lin Ran spoke first, looking at Zhou Wang cautiously.

“Lin Jie, his name is Zhou Wang, he’s my friend.”

Hua Suisui quickly whispered while also giving Zhou Wang a sweet smile.

If it weren’t for hearing Hua Suisui’s dialect when she was complaining earlier, Zhou Wang might have believed her persona—

Ha, little spicy pepper from Chuanyu, I’ve already seen through your essence!

“Really?” Lin Ran was somewhat relieved but still puzzled, “Then Mr. Zhou, how did you come up here?”

“This is my home, what do you think?” Zhou Wang smiled.

“Your home?!”

A woman and two girls spoke in unison, though their tones varied.

Lin Ran was clearly the most surprised, “But Manager Wang clearly told me this property hadn’t been sold yet.”

“If he didn’t say that, how could he charge you?”

Zhou Wang’s question was reasonable, but Lin Ran still seemed a bit skeptical and was about to say something when Wang Chunsheng noticed an extra Zhou Wang and walked over, frowning.

“Miss Lin, what’s going on? Bringing someone up here without my permission?”

Wang Chunsheng instinctively assumed Zhou Wang was with them. To be fair, handsome Zhou Wang did look quite the influencer at first glance.

“Manager Wang, how much did you charge that influencer?”

Before Lin Ran could speak, Zhou Wang had already asked.

“What does this have to do with you? Don’t worry, since I promised you…”

“I’ll double it, and we’ll shoot first.”

“Uh, she gave me one… no, two million!”

Wang Chunsheng immediately changed his story.

“Manager Wang, this is too much. Even if she gave you two million, we’ve already paid four times that, so why are we still waiting?”

Shi Yi was furious upon hearing this and questioned angrily.

“And she also slept with me, are you willing to do that?”

Wang Chunsheng chuckled indifferently, a heated gaze sweeping over Hua Suisui before turning back to Zhou Wang.

“Buddy, if you really pay more, I’ll let you start shooting right now. You can even discuss indoor options later. After all, this is the top luxury residence in Ming City, which is something regular people wouldn’t have access to. You’ll definitely go viral…”

“You’re really good at syphoning for yourself!”

Having gotten the information he wanted, Zhou Wang was too lazy to continue the nonsense. He pointed at Wang Chunsheng with a smile, and then turned and shouted, “Manager Chen, you can come up now.”
