Pillar of Yita

Kalatu had long told him that the Elf Holy Grail contained the force of Light’s Ether origin—the Pale Glory. And precisely because of this, the ’Wanderer’ had always been searching for the whereabouts of the Elf Relic.

According to the description by the Sorcerer-Ghoul Tang De, the knowledge of his great-grandfather ’Wanderer’ Maryland was said to come from Andro and Lifegard. This means that these two Dark Deities should also be quite aware of this.

And the Blind God Dika is also a Dark Deity.

So if the Abyssal Sea Scroll is truly related to the Elf Holy Grail and the seven Obelisks, the motives of the Blind Followers and Sand Thief Mahazar seem to make sense.

He pondered this thought in his mind and asked, ”Did Sand Thief Mahazar attack the Garden of Illusions and steal these Abyssal Sea Scrolls from there—is it the property of the Royal House of Penelope? Is there information about the seven Obelisks on it?”

Mr. Alvan shook his head, ”You should ask the Princess, young man. I’ve heard that you have some of the documents with you, if you don’t mind, perhaps you could let me take a look.”

Fang Hong was overjoyed at heart, he had actually planned this long ago, but just didn’t know how to bring it up.

However, on another thought, he unexpectedly asked, ”By the way, weren’t the documents brought out by the old man?”

The old man couldn’t help but smile bitterly and sighed, ”In the rush to flee, I didn’t look closely. Later when the documents were handed to the Princess, I only thought that the documents themselves were clues. But only today did I suddenly remember that the contents might also be of some help to you all.”

Fang Hong thought about it, and indeed it was true.

In fact, he hadn’t even thought in that direction at all.

”Speaking of which, there’s also an anecdote about this,” Mr. Alvan suddenly said, ”Do you remember the story I told you last time about the ’Slates’?”

”Are you referring to the Morning Dawn Star, Mr. Alvan?” Fang Hong not only remembered, but remembered quite clearly.

”Approximately by that name,” Mr. Alvan replied, ”But it’s not important, the point is, the part of the slates they uncovered is indeed related to the Obelisks.”

Fang Hong was taken aback, ”Really?”

The old man nodded, ”Otherwise, how would there be so many rumors about the Obelisks today? All of this should be related to the excavation ten years ago.”

”You mean?” Fang Hong swallowed, ”The slates excavated by the Morning Dawn Star, the information about the Obelisks on them, eventually scattered, not remaining in the hands of the original owner?”

The old man nodded again, ”That’s roughly the idea, though after that, seldom was that name heard again. But looking at the final result, it should be so.”

Fang Hong was utterly shaken, if Miss Sicape and Captain Kroid truly went through all this, it is indeed difficult to imagine what exactly happened between these times.

In his impression, there was no connection between the other party and the rumored Obelisks, even the tales of the Elf Holy Grail were ones he heard from Tianlan after leaving the Morning Dawn Star. Whether the two Morning Dawn Stars before and after are truly unrelated or whether there’s some entanglement therein that made them unwilling to mention past occurrences again?

His mind was suspicious to the extreme, but unfortunately, he couldn’t contact the other side at the moment; otherwise, he’d eagerly ask them clearly.

However, this small interlude, for the task entrusted by the Grand Princess to them, actually doesn’t help much. Because it still fails to reveal how all this connects to the attack ten years ago.

Even if confirming the content recorded in those Abyssal Sea Scrolls is indeed clues about the Obelisks left by the Numelin Elves, it actually only further affirms the motives of the Slave Traders and Sand Thief Mahazar.

But motives aren’t important, their primary goal remains to find the whereabouts of those Slave Traders and the Wandering Alchemist.

Only this clue seems to help them greatly.

...

Fang Hong, presently under the blazing Lieri sun, pondered over such a question.

He thought for a while, then turned to look at Hilveld beside him—the Noble Lady whom was also looking at him, as if she could see through his thoughts, smilingly asked, ”Lord Captain, what do you wish to ask?”

”Hilveld, about the Obelisks?”

The Noble Lady nodded slightly, ”I know, Mr. Alvan should be correct, my father might have seen those slates.”

”What?”

Although more or less expecting this answer in heart, Fang Hong was still aghast upon hearing, ”Sir Mawei also saw those slates?”

”My father left Colin Ishurian seven years ago, but Lord Captain remembers, I once said before he left he left me a notebook, right?” Hilveld replied, ”It was from that notebook I came to know about the vague connection between the Obelisks, the Elf Relic, and the Third World entrance.”

”Father was very clear in his records about the location of the Obelisks, I know at least three of their whereabouts,” Hilveld raised her head to look at him, her eyes seemed to hold a pool of Zhan Lan-like sea water, clear: ”Outside Gula Port, including the one under Abyssal Sea, and the one beneath Fenris.”

”And one at Giant Tree Hill, because of investigating my Adventure Group member’s disappearance, I’ve been delayed at Colin Ishurian, thus haven’t gone there yet.”

She paused before continuing, ”As for the remaining four, I don’t know their exact locations, father just speculated about their general whereabouts. But he mentioned in his notes that the stone slab-related information, he said he found the clues about the Obelisks and Elf Holy Grail on some ancient texts.”

”And those so-called ancient texts, the most ancient, none other than the Abyssal Sea Scrolls...”

Fang Hong nodded silently, now understanding, the information regarding the Obelisks circulating in Eteliria, actually has such a provenance.

He didn’t know whether this counts as coincidence, but presumably, the murderer of Miss Ati’s brother should also be related to the information on these slates, thus a clear clue appears before them seemingly.

They originally could only reverse-engineer from fragmented information towards possible existent clues of the mastermind—such as connections behind the whole scheme with the Dragon Worship Sect, the relation to the Dragon Witch incident, and the relationship with the ’Wanderer’.

However once they discovered the ’Wanderer’ wasn’t the only one motivated to act this way, suddenly the entire incident seemed tangled.

But now, another method seems to appear before them.

Judging from Sir Mawei’s experience, the slates scattered ten years ago seem to have passed through the hands of many, but those among them were just handlers, part truly understanding the value of these slates and part having actual actions like Hilveld’s father?

The last category obviously isn’t many, but has the greatest suspicions.

And from Hilveld’s description, her father should only have obtained some slates, so who indeed has the rest of the slates now, this is yet another important clue. Fang Hong seemed to have found a whole new method, that is to delineate targets by tracing the whereabouts of those scattered slates from ten years ago.

Though this is not easy as well.

But according to his idea, if this matter truly has ties with the Morning Dawn Star, it would become very interesting.

Unfortunately, he temporarily can’t contact Miss Sicape, which is a bit of a coincidence.

Hilveld looked at him aside and suddenly asked, ”So, Lord Captain, what do you plan to do now?”

Fang Hong shook his head, since he cannot contact Miss Sicape, of course for now, the main focus remains the task from the Princess. He considered and replied, ”Although the clue Mr. Alvan provided doesn’t significantly aid in this task, it helps clarify the true purpose of those Sand Thieves and Slave Traders. The rest is to ascertain what roles the Wandering Alchemists are playing in this, and the relation of the entire affair to that Queen.”

”Actually, the simplest method is still to find the whereabouts of those Slave Traders,” spoke up Elisa who came along, ”If you can capture one or two Slave Traders alive, that would be even better.”

”That’s true, I do have a few leads.”

Fang Hong looked at this Miss Nightingale, suddenly remembered about her career planning that he seemed to not have responded to so far.

Just as he was about to speak, the communication crystals of the three simultaneously lit up.
