Pillar of Yita

”Construct Sea Monsters aren’t cheap either, right?” Fang Hong asked, ”For the rest, Magic Guided Dogs will do.”

”Magic Guided Dogs?”

The middle-aged craftsman was taken aback—Magic Guided Dogs aren’t necessarily much higher level than Weavers; in fact, they’re almost the same level of Magic Guided Constructs. He thought Fang Hong was calculating the value constantly and couldn’t help but say, ”Actually, Mr. Ade, you don’t have to be too concerned about equivalency. Spirit Guards should be much better overall compared to Magic Guided Dogs, right?”

He felt he had made his point quite clearly.

But Fang Hong seemed to not understand, shook his head, and said, ”No need, Magic Guided Dogs are enough. Actually, I mainly want that Siren Gears, I’ve already very satisfied, but...

Um... can you give me a few more Magic Guided Dogs? I don’t know why, but using Flexible Constructs often results in loss. Cheap Constructs like Magic Guided Dogs are fitting for me.”

The middle-aged craftsman looked at him for a moment and saw he was serious before silently nodding.

There were indeed many Magic Guided Dogs, often the creations of new craftsmen, and there were plenty in the warehouse to be taken.

Fang Hong was actually a bit curious; if the craftsmen turned the warehouse into a display hall, where would they store their materials? Surely, not everything has to be digitized and stored—that would be too extravagant since the Alchemists Association deals with more than just Constructs, it houses all sorts of materials.

But he didn’t expect the middle-aged craftsman to just raise his head and point upwards.

Following that direction, Fang Hong noticed that countless boxes were hanging densely from the vaulted ceiling. Under the middle-aged craftsman’s guidance, two boxes slowly descended from mid-air. Fang Hong then realized these boxes were all Constructs—they were surprisingly flexible Constructs made to look like boxes.

He was speechless.

This was purely for show, and the Artisan Association didn’t need to save such a small amount of space. These flying boxes up there must be worth a fortune, enough to build another warehouse easily.

Inside the boxes were not packed full of Constructs but rows of neatly arranged Information Crystals—all of which were of the lowest grade, with each crystal representing a Magic Guided Construct. The middle-aged craftsman didn’t care whether he had an Information Crystal or not and directly handed him the crystals loaded with Constructs—

Until his bag was full, unable to hold any more.

This included two Siren Gears and over ten Magic Guided Dogs.

Magic Guided Dogs were very cheap, each costing less than three Clockwork Fairies. But the two Construct Sea Monsters were actually quite valuable, together surpassing the cost of a Variant Lingus Guard. Fang Hong couldn’t help but be a little flattered, though he understood in his heart.

His access to these Magic Guided Constructs didn’t really have much to do with the Chairwoman; it was likely due to the Grand Princess behind the scenes. So even if the drama hadn’t happened, the middle-aged craftsman would have found another excuse to give him the items.

Thinking of this, he exchanged a glance with Hilveld, and both saw understanding in each other’s eyes.

In any case, that Grand Princess is someone they must meet.

Now that he’s here, he should make himself comfortable.

Only then did the middle-aged craftsman ask, ”Mr. Ade, is there a particular reason for taking the Construct Sea Monsters?”

Fang Hong didn’t avoid this point and nodded. Alchemists choose Constructs with intentions—

The other party didn’t pry further, only briefly mentioning that the Grand Princess would be coming to Tansnier in a few days.

Fang Hong understood.

After the three parted ways and exited the guild’s door, returning to the surface, Fang Hong took out the Construct Sea Monster.

He chose Magic Guided Dogs purely to supplement his combat power—but choosing this Construct Sea Monster was indeed for another purpose. The middle-aged craftsman might have already seen this point—but he probably wouldn’t understand that what Fang Hong valued was not the large Nautilus’s elemental immunity and protective abilities.

But another thing.

Its three Main Crystals’ ability to absorb and convert Elemental Ether—

Fang Hong looked around, saw there was no one around, and rested his hand on the Nautilus shell, then closed his eyes gently. Hilveld, standing beside him, didn’t seem surprised by this scene—she merely smiled slightly, standing quietly nearby and watching him—even tilting her head.

Fang Hong was focused, though.

In fact, in previous experiments, he had already deduced a clear conclusion:

The Ancient Alchemy that mortals can use is, by utilizing the power of contemporary Alchemy’s Main Core Crystal to convert Ether, simulate the casting ability—just like the Magic Guided Conductor. Then mortals use this spellcasting ability to simulate the scene when the Numelin Elves used magic to guide Alchemy.

This is the Alchemy from the Numelin Era that he once reenacted in Fanric.

For mortals, this is an extremely complex process. Even for himself, he only uses it occasionally when dealing with materials that require higher purity, quality, and processing.

But when he talked to the Chairwoman, her mention of the nature of Mana Storage Crystals, and his unintentional thought of the Numelin Elves’ idea of the Creation State concerning Ether, felt like an invisible hand opening up a whole new world for him.
