Pillar of Yita

After all, no matter how you put it.

The Magic Guided Construct is indeed a characteristic and pride of Istania’s Alchemy—

But Fang Hong actually thought more.

At the moment he reached out his hand, he couldn’t help but think once again about a conversation between himself and Lady Aierna. His response at the time wasn’t for the show or to embarrass her, causing her to run out in tears—even though it was a bit awkward to say, he truly spoke out of an inspiration he felt in his heart at that moment.

He thought, once that lady calms down, she might understand the meaning within those words.

What exactly is the seventh state of Ether?

The Numelin Elves did not figure this out.

Nor could he know.

But what he wanted to understand now was how the Numelin Elves accomplished the transformation between information and matter.

If they could design an Alchemy system out of their imagined Creatogenesis, then they must have mastered some basic methods to construct this complete and self-consistent system.

This method was not merely today’s Alchemists discovering new Alchemy Formulae by adding or subtracting a single character, a single rune, or writing down a more complex Alchemy Array as part of ’Creation.’

Instead, it concerned something more fundamental—even more basic than the ’character’ and ’rune’ units in Alchemy.

And at this moment, Fang Hong only had a vague and indistinct thought. He couldn’t even grasp his own inspiration, but merely sensed this might be connected to some kind of subtle relation with the Magic Guided Construct.

So he reached out his hand.

At the moment when the Resonance Crystal on Pride of the Lonely King came into contact with the Resonance Crystal inside the Magic Guided Construct.

A glimmer of inspiration, akin to a dawning light breaking through the long night in the depths of darkness, flashed through his mind.

In that instant, what he saw was the Hall of Thousand Doors, was Anluose—the dragon transformed into a silver-haired elf, looking at him calmly with silver eyes, then speaking in an almost unchanging predetermined tone:

”Numelin’s Alchemy is different from today’s Alchemy.

The elves were not content merely with changing the shape or density of objects, though to mortals at the time, it seemed as if a divine act—

But the elves were more passionate about seeking a kind of Creatogenesis.

A method of creating something from nothing.

By relying solely on the elements themselves, all existing matter can be constructed—

Even life itself.”

Anluose quietly said: ”This is the essence of Alchemy.”

His gaze seemed immersed in ancient times, his tone both light and slow: ”To achieve this, the first step is to master the elements, extracting the desired elemental crystals from Ether and forming them into material forms. They indeed achieved this step through the formulas I told you about—”

”And you, Ade, can also try from now on.”

But Fang Hong looked at his hand.

He had no Magic Aptitude, so how could he communicate with the elements?

The scene back then flashed through his mind, and in an instant, another picture flashed into his thoughts.

It was a myriad of stars connecting into one light point, collapsing towards the center at a nearly instantaneous speed, finally transforming into a small speck of dust.

As countless specks of dust in the space settled, gathered above his palm, forming a black, dense crystal. He could almost feel the qualities contained within the black, dense crystal—still, cold, even a hint of somberness, like the other side of the world’s lively facade.

A deep reflection.

And just as light collapsed into matter, memories surfaced in his mind.

This was exactly—

Fang Hong seemed to grasp something.

He drew his hand gently, like a silverlight flashing through the darkness, inscribing several symbols, intertwining and overlapping, then assembling into a small array. In the Spirit World, unnoticed by anyone, penetrating an invisible barrier.

Then it merged into the black, dense crystal.

All of this concluded in the instant his fingertip touched the construct.

He withdrew his finger, and a deep silverlight flashed through his eyes.

If Sicape were here, she would certainly recognize that brilliance. When Fang Hong dug her out from the collapsed underground passage, she had seen such brilliance in Fang Hong’s eyes and the faint mark on his forehead.

But such a scene appeared only for a moment, then vanished without a trace.

Just like now.

No one— not even Fang Hong himself, noticed this phenomenon.

Just when he retracted his hand.

The spider-shaped construct began to move.

It gently flipped over, landing on the ground, moving left and right under Fang Hong’s instruction, then suddenly floated into the air, its body breaking into several parts in an instant—each part resembling a long, slender black, dense crystal, pointing forward.

Fang Hong retracted the light in his eyes, gently closing his fingers, allowing these crystals to reassemble into the spider form.

The crowd saw this scene and let out a low sigh of admiration.

Because this was precisely the basic form of the Magic Guided Construct.

The reason it is called a Magic Guided Construct is because its movement is mostly not reliant on mechanics—but on magical power.

And the classic formation of the Annihilator became one of the standards for Magic Guided Constructs, i.e., Magic Guided Constructs mostly comprise smaller constructed parts assembled separately. These constructs share power from a Main Core Crystal, yet can act independently and possess different functional modules.

Fang Hong’s simple operation already demonstrated his understanding of Magic Guided Constructs.

The crowd clearly didn’t expect a boy from Kapuka to have any profound operations on Magic Guided Constructs—just this small feat was enough to amaze them.

Except for the middle-aged craftsman—

Having heard of Fang Hong’s operation on the Weaver—a boy capable of multi-controlled weaving, would he just manipulate the Blade of Tarn so simply?

After the crowd followed Fang Hong onwards, he stopped alone to inspect the Blade of Tarn. To his surprise, there were no abnormalities in the Magic Guided Construct, only an unfamiliar spell added to the Mana Storage Crystal of the left foreleg.

However, the spell inside the Mana Storage Crystal is fixed from the making moment and cannot be altered.

So he didn’t think too much, just hesitated for a while and placed the Magic Guided Construct back down.

The middle-aged craftsman shook his head, sighed, and murmured to himself:

”Looks like I’ll have to tell those craftsmen not to secretly test putting some strange and unusual spells in these constructs...”
