Pillar of Yita

Fang Hong put down the register in his hand—it was nothing more than a few pages of papyrus nailed to a Rosa wooden board, recording some conditions of Mr. Greyrock. Despite the long journey, under the meticulous care of Miss Atira, Mr. Greyrock seemed to be in quite good condition.

Even the Istania people managing the beast pens praised them. You should know that the Istania people are also famous beast tamers, not much inferior to the Garcians who invented the ’Carry House’.

He then turned and walked between the second and third pillars, looking up at Pasha sitting on the shoulders of the Orphen Twin Stars, and asked, ”Pasha, are you really not going out with us?”

Sunlight streamed through the skylight above the stables, falling through the gaps between some square bricks onto Pasha’s soft curls. His dark eyes seemed to have a layer of light coating, and the little boy shyly smiled and shook his head: ”I’m staying here to help Lord Captain watch over Mr. Greyrock and this big guy.”

”It’s not necessary, Pasha, there are staff here who will help us look after them,” Fang Hong replied.

”Not necessarily,” Parker said, nibbling on a brightly colored local fruit, his short legs dangling as he sat on a low cabinet nearby, speaking indistinctly: ”You know—the staff here are always not very responsible, and some even have a habit of pilfering.”

”I don’t know,” Fang Hong said irritably, ”Shut up, Parker.”

But Pasha gently smiled: ”Mr. Parker is right. Mr. Ade, I know this place in Istania better than you. Although I’ve never been to the north, it should be different from the north. Mr. Ade, it’s right for me to stay here.”

Fang Hong then nodded: ”Okay.”

He looked up at the tall stables—Istania’s dry climate is indeed quite different from Colin, as are their architectural styles. The beast pens in Elpaxin, Golande are those tall, pointed-roofed shelters, generally of mixed wood-stone structures, with stone foundations and wooden beams and upper beams.

In contrast, Istania’s beast pens resemble square earthen forts, in a tawny hue, built block by block with sturdy mud bricks, with walls wider at the bottom and narrower at the top, with rows of beams and ceilings embedded into the walls. The ceiling has no incline, just a plain, flat roof.

Many windows cut into the tops of walls let sunlight stream through dust motes, forming beams of light. In the dim corners of the walls were bales of hay piled up, and just like the endless yellow sand and dry climate, a thin layer of fine dust covered the floor inside the stables.

The dust was as fine as silt, trickling down between one’s fingers if grasped.

This harsh climate poses a significant challenge to constructs too, as dust entering the intricate mechanics of Clockwork Fairies and Energy Angels significantly reduces their lifespan.

If unlucky, they might even become scrap.

Thus, Istania’s combat artisans belong to another school, the Magic Guided Construct School.

Annihilators are actually a type of Magic Guided Construct, and the Dark Star (Pitch Black Star) used by Rolin should also be, although the Pitch Black Star should count as a hybrid construct type, with a power section not much different from traditional Clockwork Fairies. Of course, these are relatively simple Magic Guided Constructs, while truly complex Magic Guided Constructs naturally have their own top-tier constructs.

The combat artisans of the Magic Guided Construct School generally head in the direction of the Construct Lord due to the need for various Magic Guided Constructs to supplement the diversity of Magic Guided Spells.

However, delving deeper, the aesthetic of combat artisans in the Magic Guided School is quite different from traditional Construct Lords.

To speak frankly, Red Leaf is a combat artisan of the Magic Guided School. However, that is still entry-level. Fang Hong had long heard of this legendary school located in Colin Ishurian, as it is one of the origins of Overload Tactics. Fang Hong inevitably thought once more of a bald head—

He himself is not from the Magic Guided School and does not know much about it.

But the flourishing tradition of Alchemy here is at least good news.

The Orphen Twin Stars haven’t been repaired since they broke. Unable to fix them himself, he hoped to find an artisan master locally who could take on the commission. Moreover, with Level 25 approaching, the next form upgrade of the Type-One Crystal is also on the agenda.

Currently, all he had was the Magic Solution and the primary crystal, with no clue yet about other materials. He had heard that Tansnier has a rich alchemical atmosphere and a large alchemy market in the harbor, hoping to find some inspiration there.

A few people walked out of the beast pens, with the Sorcerer-Ghoul Tang De following along—

These past few days, he had been wandering around with everyone, and Fang Hong gave him a glance, finding it no longer strange. Tang De even greeted Reed, and the Big Catfolk also waved a paw at him: ”Good morning, Mr. Tang De.”

Tang De, donned in a long black robe and holding a curving necromancy staff, made no effort to disguise his appearance. A white skull poked out from beneath a black scarf, with dark eye sockets faintly flickering with flames in the sunlight. Were it yesterday, Fang Hong would’ve worriedly asked him:

”Is it really okay to walk around the streets like that, Mr. Tang De?”
