Pillar of Yita

After a slight pause, Aierna Vasa’s lips slightly curled up.

She glanced at the middle-aged craftsman and said, ”I didn’t expect you to actually find an Alchemist this time.”

The middle-aged craftsman smiled, ”Chairman, I explained.”

”Really?”

She turned back and looked Fang Hong up and down, with a noticeable disbelief in her eyes: ”You look legitimate, but did you overlook something?”

A knowing smile appeared on Aierna’s face, as if she had caught on to the real problem.

The Artisan Association is open to all the association’s Alchemists, so if this person were truly one of them, why go through such elaborate means?

She glanced again at the middle-aged craftsman, like a cat catching a mouse’s tail, her emerald eyes narrowing, her tone teasing: ”Alright, I want to see what you’re playing at.”

The middle-aged craftsman couldn’t help but reveal a wry smile, speaking with a mix of amusement and despair: ”Chairman, when have I ever lied to you?

Mr. Ade is truly an association craftsman, and it’s not really that complicated; just checking the number on his insignia would suffice.”

But Aierna didn’t pay him any mind.

If someone purposely explains, it’s mostly to lead her into a logical trap, of that she was sure in her heart.

You must stick to your own views, don’t be swayed by the sweet talk of others, Aierna.

She gave herself a reason in her heart, then looked at Fang Hong again, deliberately slowing her speech, and asked:

”Little guy, since you also count as an Alchemist, let me test you.”

Fang Hong thought, what does she mean by ”also count as an Alchemist?”

But Aierna had already asked: ”What is the fundamental state of Ether?”

Fang Hong thought for a moment, and he couldn’t help but recall his experience in the Hall of Thousand Doors, and answered: ”Elements.”

This question is the most fundamental theory in the Ether Theory, approximately equivalent to the first sentence of the preface in various textbooks.

It’s one of the general theories and cornerstones of the entire Ether Theory.

Any Alchemist’s Apprentice wouldn’t confuse this point.

But originally, this question was supposed to end here, as the standard answer to the question is—elements.

However, Fang Hong clearly hadn’t planned to stop there, and continued with his train of thought:

”...Ether passes through the Starlight network, whose true structure people are still unclear about, and descends in Eteliria into six specific elemental forms.

Another saying mentions five, the difference being whether Light Ether has a corresponding Dark Ether.

The five or six elements combine to form all things in Eteliria.

But perhaps the fundamental state of Ether isn’t just elements—because people still don’t understand how elements form substances.

The same Earth and Fire elements, how can they form different metals and rocks? Light as pumice, heavy as Mithril, both come from the same two elements.

The six elements can appear in the form of life, or transform into destructive berserk Magic Power, and what exactly causes this difference?

Perhaps there exists a kind of information, that can map all things, categorizing the six elements, presenting them in different forms as we see.

Just like the rules in magic, different curses and casting gestures, constrain Ether Force of different attributes to form specific spells.

The Numelin Elves call this form the Creation State. They believe it’s a power above the gods, creating a system different from magic through their imagination.

This is Alchemy—

But today’s Alchemists can still only change the structure of material, unable to alter its properties.

Through changing the Structural Points inside the material, we can mold metals and other types of materials into any desired shape, but the greatest feature of Creatogenesis imagined by the Numelin Elves—creating something out of nothing, hasn’t appeared.

So-called Creation, means creating all things.

Transmuting stone into gold, creating life, isn’t an impossible thing.

As all things in Eteliria were originally composed of elements, mastering the final form of Ether, in theory, Alchemy could recreate the majestic feat of creation.

In utilizing elements to directly construct matter, the Numelin Elves far surpass contemporary Alchemists, and they might have some understanding of the seventh form of elements.”

Fang Hong finished speaking, and couldn’t help but glance at his right hand.

Back then, he had indeed created ’substances’ out of nothing under fortunate circumstances, that dark crystal, with its cold touch, as if it still lingered in his palm.

And the Zero-Type Crystal left to him by Hain Famm was another example of creating something from nothing.

The other party created a Magic Crystal that didn’t naturally exist in nature.

What level have the Numelin Elves reached in their Alchemy research, and why did they leave this world hastily?

He merely expressed what he had learned in the Hall of Thousand Doors.

But when he looked up, he discovered the middle-aged craftsman and the female chairman were staring at him strangely.

”...Have you studied Ancient Alchemy?”

The middle-aged craftsman couldn’t help but ask.

Aierna blinked her eyes.

But she quickly realized, understanding she might have been fooled, her eyebrows raising: ”Wait, you two, don’t try to spook me here—

I’m talking about you, little guy, where did you memorize such a peculiar answer?”
