Pillar of Yita

Fang Hong slowly walked toward the next construct.

It was a quadrupedal construct resembling a canine creature, with a size not much different from the common domestic dog. It had the precise structure rarely seen in Magic Guided Constructs, with simple metal plates wrapping around a skeleton-like torso, forming ribs to reduce weight, and copper-colored glowing pipes spreading like veins over important components, faint patterns etched on the surface serving as a Magic Guided Path.

But Fang Hong was no longer concerned about the name of this construct. Having succeeded in his experiment, he was filled with a strange desire and eagerness, as if he had just pushed open a door to a brand-new world, and behind it was a whole new universe never seen before.

On that land full of the unknown, imagination was free to soar.

He even forgot about the people watching, extending his right hand to the construct, the patterns of the Magic Guided Path on his glove lighting up one by one. The canine-like construct shuddered, emitting a humming sound from within, and turned its head around, three faceted black vision crystals, with a faint red light within, looking at everyone.

This lifelike operation won a wave of admiration. However, in that admiration, how much was sincere, how much was polite, and how many could tell?

But Fang Hong didn’t care about that; he was immersed in his own world, fingers fluctuating up and down, engraving silver runes upon the Mana Storage Crystal of the construct, through the world of consciousness. People’s admiration quieted down, as if someone had noticed this strange situation.

”What is he doing?”

People in the back whispered.

Meanwhile, Fang Hong had already lowered his hand and reopened his eyes. The middle-aged craftsman who came up from behind then asked him with some confusion, ”Mr. Ade...?”

”Ah, I’m fine.” Fang Hong hurriedly explained after a brief pause, ”I just adjusted the spells inside.”

The Alchemists then revealed a knowing look—the biggest difference between Magic Guided Constructs and regular constructs was the spells stored in the Mana Storage Crystal. People looked at him curiously; being able to adjust spells meant that this young man truly understood Magic Guided Constructs.

The middle-aged craftsman was not surprised, nodded and replied, ”Mr. Ade, why not give it a try?”

”Can I?”

”Certainly.”

The middle-aged craftsman turned back, raised his hand; accompanied by a low friction sound, a triangular prism rose from the floor. Fang Hong glanced at him, realizing that this middle-aged man they had always dealt with was also a Combat Artisan. The triangular prism was actually a Magic Absorber, also a Magic Guided Construct.

The middle-aged craftsman extended his hand to the Magic Absorber, indicating that he could let the Magic Guided Construct cast spells in that direction.

Fang Hong took a breath and raised his hand once again, two beams of light passing through the Magic Guided Path, activating the buoy on the Magic Universal Disk pointing forward. He stretched out his right hand, two fingers, and from behind, the canine construct opened its dark metallic mouth, spitting out a flame.

The flame collided with the triangular prism, a hexagonal grid emerging, then exploding, sparks flying, falling on the floor.

The Flame Spitting Technique, one of the basic abilities of the Magic Guided Dog.

The Alchemists then let out a sincere admiration: ”Mr. Ade surely understands our Istania School’s Magic Guided Constructs.”

But Fang Hong’s performance wasn’t over yet. He closed his fingers together, three patterns on the glove lighting up, this time magic buoys collectively pointed upward, a magic array appearing in front of the canine construct, white light patterns sinking from the copper claws of its front paws into the ground, quickly extending forward.

With a light sound, a sharp spike suddenly rose on the flat ground of the hall, aiming at the triangular prism. The sharp spike seemed to materialize abruptly, penetrating the hexagonal network around the triangular prism, ’bang’ hitting the prism and creating a deep concave on it.

The hexagonal network flashed once and disappeared instantly.

This unexpected strike shocked the middle-aged craftsman.

”What kind of spell is this?” Everyone was astonished.

Someone immediately went over.

”The Magic Shield was penetrated?”

”Probably because it was a physical attack.”

”But can a Magic Guided Dog perform such spells?” Everyone was puzzled.

Someone cast their gaze at Fang Hong.

Fang Hong himself was stunned—this wasn’t any spell—or rather, it was a ’spell’ he had engraved on the Mana Storage Crystal. He originally just wanted to test it out, not expecting to cause such a big reaction. He felt a bit guilty, trying hard to act as if he ’knew nothing’.

Looking innocently at everyone, the meaning in those dark eyes clearly was: ”Isn’t it supposed to be like this?”

”Strange.”

Everyone obviously didn’t suspect Fang Hong much, only casting more skeptical glances at the Magic Guided Dog.

After all, the spells inside the Magic Guided Dog ’weren’t’ placed by Fang Hong but engraved by the preceding creators, what does it have to do with him?

The craftsmen from the combat department immediately checked the Magic Guided Dog and found the peculiar spell inside one of its Mana Storage Crystals.

”What spell is this?”

”I don’t know it.”

”Is it a new spell?”

”Craftsmen from the production department experimenting these strange spells on samples again.”
