Pillar of Yita

”This resulted in Aiertaute being enamored by the Dragon’s Golden Eyes, leading his soul to be captivated. To rescue his friend, Sir Haggston chose to steal the Dragon’s Golden Eyes, feeling guilty, Yoshude did not stop the Old Dwarf.”

Fang Hong fell silent upon hearing this.

He thought of Miss Eve. Although unsure of how to judge the dragon-slaying hero’s deeds as right or wrong, clearly, the latter wasn’t as cold and unfeeling as rumored. He had never forgotten Eve, even after she transformed into a dragon, he still held onto those feelings.

Though unaware of Miss Eve’s whereabouts, perhaps if she encountered Yoshude again, they might surely reconcile.

He couldn’t help but let out a gentle sigh.

Kalatu seemed to wait for his thoughts before continuing:

”After this incident, it mended the rift between Yoshude and me. We realized together the conflict with Alte was far from over. Before everything dissipates, we must thoroughly end the lingering influence of Lifegard’s power in this world.”

”For Yoshude, it’s also an account to Miss Eve.”

”Thus, Yoshude summoned the remnants of Miss Eve’s soul from the Dragon’s Heart. With her consent, Lifegard’s power was sealed within it. Yoshude and I embarked on a journey to find Alte’s whereabouts, leading us to many places, including Sir Haggston’s fief during his lifetime—”

”However, all in vain.”

He looked at Tang De.

The Sorcerer-Ghoul’s eyes flickered with red flames: ”You’re not familiar with Maryland, hence the repeated misfires. But it’s different for me, if he turned to ash, I’d still find him time and again.”

Fang Hong couldn’t help asking: ”But thirty years ago, at Dolifen?”

”At that time, I was a step too late,” Tang De replied, ”Because the news of the Dragon’s Heart being stolen wasn’t received until nearly half a year later. The Mazak siblings were too impulsive, had they informed me in advance rather than rushing to Elpaxin, things wouldn’t have turned difficult later.”

”So, you knew Lady Misu and Mr. Mazak.”

”Hmph, the descendants of Yoshude, naturally I knew them.”

Fang Hong’s understanding of the Dragon Witch incident a century ago to what happened today began to outline a basic context.

He looked at the two and asked: ”Then Mr. Kalatu, who are you really...?”

”This is just a clone of mine,” Kalatu replied, ”As for my main body, its whereabouts are unknown now, but since you can still see me here, it suggests I might still be on the road. Due to the incident of the Dragon’s Heart being stolen thirty years ago, it made me realize Alte might have returned to this place.”

”Then, Lord Yoshude?”

”The last time I saw him was forty years ago, and by then he had lost his former vitality, becoming indistinguishable from an ordinary old man. The last time he talked with me about the Dragon Witch, he was still reminiscing about the past. Not long after I left Roante, news of his passing reached me.”

Fang Hong closed his mouth again, thinking once more about Miss Eve.

Kalatu continued: ”It’s a pity that after that farewell, I never returned to Roante, didn’t even get a chance to see him one last time.”

The room was silent; evidently, most had heard this story before.

Fang Hong pondered for a while before asking: ”Mr. Kalatu is still investigating Alte’s whereabouts?”

”He reappeared in Idus this time, will you return to Colin Ishurian?”

But Kalatu shook his head.

He glanced at Tang De: ”As you can see, the current investigation of Alte’s whereabouts is being handled by Tang De.”

The Sorcerer-Ghoul tapped his staff.

Kalatu turned back, seriously looking into Fang Hong’s eyes.

”As for me, I should be heading to the Second World now, precisely, Ade, it involves you somewhat—I am investigating the whereabouts of the Numelin Elves. After they left four Holy Relics a millennium ago, where did they go?”

Fang Hong’s eyes widened, looking surprised at the two. How did this involve the Numelin Elves’ relic legend again?

Suddenly, he frowned, instinctively glancing at Atira, remembering—Miss Atira’s brother, due to his involvement with the secret of the Elf Holy Relic, inexplicably lost his Starlight.

Looking at the current situation, the one most linked to this issue might be the Wanderer—

Thus, saying there is a connection between these two matters seems plausible.

But this thought flashed through his mind, and he lifted his head to look at the other, acknowledging the Archmage likely had more important things to convey.

Before the Numelin Elves hid from the world, they left five Holy Relics to the world, but to be precise, people are familiar with four of them. They were left to three Mortal Kingdoms, Colin Ishurian, Osh, and Rotao—and as known, Colin Ishurian’s Morning Light Holy Sword and Hailin Crown are a set of relics, held separately by humans and dwarves.

Humans possess the Hailin Crown, a symbol of Colin’s royal power. The dwarves hold the Morning Light Holy Sword, one of the creations of the Dwarf God Rotas.

Thus, there is mention of three Holy Relics.

Namely, the Hand of Philosophy, Eternal Emblem, Light’s Sacred Relic.

Although Colin Ishurian’s two relics of Light were lost at the end of the Giant War, including Rotao’s Eternal Emblem as well, of these relics—only the Hand of Philosophy’s whereabouts are clear.

The last one, the Elf Holy Grail, has existed only in legends until the past.

Among these relics, the only one related to him is the Crown of Light—Hailin’s Crown, linked through an Elf Ruins experience, sharing the crown’s mark with Miya, one half each. That mark not only still resides on his hand but also grants him the power of Pale Glory.

Without this coincidence, he might have died in Idus this time.

Moreover, discovering the Hailin Crown’s location led him to the legacy of Hain Famm and the Great Alchemist Ade. He always felt that beneath the Elf Ruins, these two matters were subtly interconnected in some way.
