Pillar of Yita

”Later, those Dragon Worshippers we met at Aimumu Fortress, along with the Dragonfire Guild people, are very likely under his orders, sent back to search for the Holy Sword Moa. Because a hundred years ago his plan failed, and after Nikopolas’ defeat, the Dragon’s Golden Eyes also went missing in the Dolifen battle, ending up in Mazak’s hands.”

”Ade, you said the Dragon Worship Sect is divided into two factions. One faction is the mastermind behind the ’Dragon’s Witch’ incident a hundred years ago, and the other is the opposing faction led by Pudra.”

Atira asked softly:

”So does this mean he is Rolin’s ’master’?”

Fang Hong frowned slightly: ”It’s a possibility.”

”Only a possibility?”

”Because there are still some doubts, including the sudden appearance of the Descendants of Flor, there should be another group behind this. Also, why the Sky Pirates are unaware of the secret beneath Idus is something I can’t quite figure out.”

”This person gives me the feeling that he isn’t in sync with the Dragon Worshippers. But considering Pudra’s earlier statement—’that person attempts to bypass Master Deloan’s power and fight Bahamut on his own’— even though it’s unclear if Deloan is another name for Lifegard, does it mean he harbored ulterior motives from the start?”

”This fits our previous knowledge of that Wanderer, patient, calm, almost unemotional. He doesn’t seem like someone who would passionately devote his life to a belief, more like a selfish, unemotional despot.”

”How could such a person dedicate themselves to others, whether that dedication is good or bad? Miss Atira, thinking about his arrangements for Eve, I have an idea.”

Atira just quietly watched him, without speaking.

It’s not the first time, but every time at such moments, this young man makes people feel particularly at ease. He not only has a sense of justice, courage, and action, but also enough confidence to face all evil things.

Confidence at critical moments often unleashes a person’s full potential, having both a calm mind and rich imagination.

And such imagination greatly enhances a person’s insight.

For ordinary people, there are always fields they are good or bad at, but in critical times, few can remain so calm; thus, in more urgent situations, this quality becomes all the more valuable.

It helps a person and a team to ultimately succeed.

Perhaps that’s why everyone ultimately chooses to trust him.

She watched him grow at an unimaginable speed, from that naive youth to someone who can take charge today. Atira couldn’t help but think of her brother and sighed softly.

Meanwhile, Fang Hong continued:

”He doesn’t just want Lifegard’s power—”

”What he wants is not the near monstrous immortal life granted to their followers by the Dark Giant Dragon, but to become the master of this power, and not merely transform into a Dark Giant Dragon, but to reach a higher existence.”

”So he imprisoned Dragon King Lifegard’s power inside Eve and used the power of the Dragon’s Golden Eyes to control it. Yes, the Dragon’s Golden Eyes,” Fang Hong looked at the ring in his hand, ”this ring wasn’t forged by Yoshude and Kalatu, but was a token of love from Eve to Yoshude—”

”I guess, how could Eve, who was ostracized among the Oathkeepers, have such a remarkable, neither gold nor iron-made ring? And Eve told me she and Yoshude found this ring in the Serpent People Holy Temple—”

”But she and Yoshude never went deep there, how could they have found such an extraordinary ring?”

Atira asked, ”Was it left for her by Alte?”

Fang Hong nodded.

”He kept subtly guiding her to break free from that shackle and completely release the fire within her heart. This ring is the only bond between her and Yoshude, when she transforms into a dragon, this is her only link to the past world.”

”So by possessing this ring, one holds Nikopolas’ only weakness, and Alte should have left some means on this ring. He had that strange method to release the Dragon Soul from Holy Sword Moa and transfer it to Eve, and still survived the disaster at Aimumu Fortress.”

”I’m really curious, where did he get all this knowledge? From what it seems now, ordinary Dragon Worshippers, even including high-level people like Pudra, have barely any understanding of the Dark Giant Dragon compared to this person.”

”This is my only doubt—”

Atira listened silently for a while. She turned her gaze back, looking at the young man’s profile, while Fang Hong, speaking while still paying attention to the stone wall, seemed unconcerned about this direction.

The Elf Miss watched for a moment before asking: ”Ade, aren’t you afraid?”

Fang Hong was startled, and turned around: ”Afraid of what?”

”The enormity of this person’s ambition is unsettling,” Atira replied, ”from what you’ve described of the plan, he doesn’t even consider Lifegard, and Pudra also says he recklessly intends to challenge the Dragon Guardian Bahamut.”

She paused before asking, ”Have you thought about what his pursuit is?”

Fang Hong nodded: ”He wants to become a Dark Saint.”
